However, you have to figure out by your own eyes, except you have equipment to analyse that.
Top level pool is very difficult to be consistent and win all the time..only Gareth Potts/Hibbard has managed it recently....Its a hard game mentally even tho the tables aren't snooker size,,this is 8 ft and big enough...I imagine all the posters on here saying its so easy cannot even manage a 20 break at snooker
They have different rules. American 8 ball is played with much bigger heavier balls with bucket pockets on a bigger table. They use the Ball in hand rule instead of the 2 shot rule for fouls. Also American 8 ball you have to nominate a pocket so you can't fluke a ball.Racking is also random so there are quite a few differences.
In the UK as well as a number of other British Commonwealth and European countries, the typical pool table is a 7-foot model - or even 6 × 3.5 ft (1.83 × 0.91 m) for the pub and home market. These are the sizes used by internationally-standardised blackball and the World Eightball Pool Federation, as well as informal pub pool. This is a 7x4 at the most guaranteed including the wooden sides behind the cushions/rails it is never played on anything bigger....
What tipe of rules are applied here? It doesn’t look like « blackball », and doesn’t look like American pool either? (It’s closer to what we play in bars in France!)
commentators talk absoloute gash, got a hard finish here hes got 3 reds over the bag with black in the middle of the table stevie wonder could pot them
Could any soul of kindness tell me the rule? Why is that you select a colour and pot the colour but pot a ball of the other colour in the meantime a foul?
are there any differences between 8ball and uk pool? i mean, in 8ball you have solids and striped balls, here you have reds and yellows, but besides that, it looks the same to me... isn't it?
3:10 that commentator taking about bumping the yellow or screw back lol. 1 cushion for the black in the side pocket is the blatantly obvious shot. Have these commentators ever played pool?
i take it you are american and use the big fat tip cues. we in england use the small to medium cue tips, often refered to as snooker cues, they can be used as pool cues, there is no difference, i use a snooker cue to play pool.
@@TheSaltyForks I am using a snooker cue but to snooker. I didn't know that english pool before. And it work good for you using that thin and cues and small tip for pool? Do you mean english pool or a american?
I'm amazed at the standard. Was watching this to see how good pool players are considering this is pool championship final. Was expecting to see some super shots and amazing positioning. Pretty much first time clearance every game but wtf. Especially this frame think is 6 they are both terrible in this frame. I've seen people at my local club play much better than they r playing. Just surprised considering it's a championship final they aren't better than this
what kind of messed up rules are these for 8ball? im referring principally to daren's "foul" not to mention the stupid modification of the classic rail rule.
Just like having sex, then when your finished putting the condom on. Then hoping you don’t catch anything or get her pregnant.😂😂😂 Much better game snooker.👍
This is nothing more than a bar-game. I find it mildly amusing how a highly pro-player such as Earl Strickland get his ass handed to him on a plate by Ronnie O'Sullivan - when pool isn't even his main sport!
Joe Blow Ronnie o Sullivan is probably the best snooker player ever and he didn't blow earl out of the water, even though earl was ten years past his prime. stop trying to sound like an elitist. snooker player regularly win AND lose playing pool. tony drago for example is a good snooker player but not a great pool player.
*sigh* To be honest if I wanted to learn Greek I would have by now, but it's not somewhere I ever want to go so there is no point. If French and Spanish are so easy go and learn to speak them fluently then come back and talk to me.
@kguitartpplayer It's funny you should mention that because I speak Spanish, French and Gaelic also. That makes 4 languages against your two, so, I guess I 'win' on that front. Why are you still talking anyway? You clearly have nothing to say that is going to affect me in any way. You seem to be getting quite agitated, on the other hand.
then why watch, you dont like dont look at it. Or is your life so empty you have to post trivial comments on videos others are interested in?? and strickland is 14 years past his prime, I was with him the other day, along with ronnie alcano, mika immonen, warren kiamco and jeremy sossei, and they are a pleasure to watch live. That selby guy seems really good. Bet he would be decent at snooker if he give it a go
So original
Lee Mack is a great commentator
No he fucking isn't lol. He's slightly clueless. A very funny man nonetheless
Was gona comment the same lol
It is him 😂
@@fourghtyeight48 how do you know its him? Thought it was a randomer

That's the specifications for an american pool table...

gareth hibbet play snooker against him
I thought it was a 6x3 foot table?
7×4/3.5 I'd say
Its 100% an 8ft x 5ft. Standard tour tables are 7ft x 4ft.
You miss in pool you loose as against good player's because table is smaller than a snooker less safe

I've played both extensively and find UK pool more challenging.
Jim Wych is one of the top pool commentators. Also Canadian by the way ;-)
Can’t stand him. Annoying kermit the frog voice
Olschi do u have any other wepf world finals? Appleton v Hill, Potts v Melling, Potts v Hill ? Those three finals were three classics.
Potts v Hill (2010)

dizaleh it should be 7x3.5 if its like american bar boxes. pool is much more engaging when played on a 9 or 10 footer though

00:10 brilliant shot selby
You could take a shit and not miss anything watching Appleton...

winner stays on
Snooker is much more interesting...!
It's so boring to watch this pool.
Stop watching and go play
The commentators are painful to listen to.
2 shots carry on?! Absurd!
Could any soul of kindness tell me the rule? Why is that you select a colour and pot the colour but pot a ball of the other colour in the meantime a foul?
Yining Gao Hitting a ball out of turn then potting a ball is a foul
The table looks smaller, is it?

Agiyi Different ball size, different shape of cushions and pocket cutouts, different type of cloth
Is that Lee Mack?
i think it actually is loool
No jerry springer
tmcthree it's lee Kendall
I’ve been wondering that!
Sounds exactly like lee Mack
What a small table...
9.40. That's a great shot with all that bottom left. Unlucky not to split the balls nice.
Bottom right, you mean

is this a 7ft or 8ft table?
6
@gman21xx he potted a red which isn't his ball giving 2 shots to his opponent as its a foul shot....
isn't that 9 ball? or is it the same?
Tom Padfield similar to American 8 ball not 9 ball
what is table size are used in this mode? thanks
7ft x 3.5ft

well a smaller tip means better cue ball control and better spin, i find i get the same control on a medium tip

because it is pool not snooker. pool table is much smaller then snooker

8x4 at most

how can he avoid the shoot his yellow ball ?
i like the american commentator, hes actually into the match, or at least seems to be. Usually theres a cpouple of pot heads with ADD.
I reckon its an 8ft pool table
Its 6foot by 3foot

i really dont think this is 8ft, ive never seen english pool played on 8ft, im sure its 7ft, thats the regulation size for this game.
