    This is really well done, thank you for explaining why you do things and the thought process of why you are using specific nodes. It really helps understand how everything works together when creating blueprints!

    Just completed this, really enjoyed how fast, direct and precise it was. I learned a lot in just a few hours, never touched any tools related blueprint. This was awesome and powerful.

    I love this beginner videos, even though I am working with Unreal since release.
    Because: I didn't know you could make a button out of a custom event, I had to always work with a construction script and some weird logic. This is gonna save me SOOO much time!

    @Unreal Engine let this person do/redo all your tutorials on your learning platform, it would reduce bloat by 90% and at the same time increase clarity. The amount of information contained in this one tutorial is staggering and if someone feels it is too fast paced they can just replay.

    Hey thank you for the tutorial, it was super insightful and clear! My only note would be that it would be great to have access to all of the same assets as you did (I downloaded the Shooter pack, although it seemed you had many custom ones of your own). Otherwise it was awesome, and thank you again!

    • @chrismurphy6966

    I really hope Visual Blueprints become the future, or atleast will get more supported. Before blueprints were a thing I never even wanted to touch coding. Long paragraphs of numbers,letters,brackets and symbols are extremely confusing and a pain to look through for me. It just really throws me off and I quickly stopped once I atleast gave real coding a chance. That's basically the reason why I like doing visual stuff like meshes or textures. And now visual blueprints make code actually understandable for me aswell. I think it's important to give everyone a chance to make their world come alive, and that's why I really hope blueprints will become more widespread and advanced. Not only will it bring more people into the hobby, but also allows people to express themselves like they always wanted to. Having assets sit in a folder for ages isn't fun, and sitting around on ideas that seemed too hard to realise also isn't, which is why I'm happy to have the blueprints!

    Nice video, I want to create my own card building deck with rpg elements game but I have no programming skills & was looking at a visual scripting engine. How so ever I can't find proper tutorials on even Blueprint with even a card building deck video to get me started sigh. Do you have any tutorials along that lines. I don't want to focus on shooter or other games when I could be focusing on the card game thanks.

    Here's the thing. How do you know these things are possible when you are just getting started in blueprint?

    • @Bubblegummonsters
      @Bubblegummonsters 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes this is the issue I'm having. I'm just so new to anything code or even maths related that it boggles my mind how people just seem to know the right nodes to call on or how to plug them together. I find that I vaguely understand what's going on for about five minutes and then I find my mind just loses it.

      I gotta admit, coming from Nuke and Houdini -- UE looks pretty Mickey Mouse. v5 is definitely an upgrade, glad they ditched the bubbly horizontal bar at the top that was a waste of screen realestate and gave it a cheap iMovie look.

    Amazing tutorial, can I address some issues? In programming there’s a matter of code efficiency to minimize workloads, does it matters in blueprint as well? Or can I put as many commands without streamlining it and still won’t have significant effect on the overall performance?

    • @chrismurphy6966
      @chrismurphy6966 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can get away with a doing quite lot in Blueprint before it becomes an issue but if I was doing something super complex there's a good chance I'd do it in C++ and then call that node in BP to reduce overhead. So, you're right, it matters, but in a 30 minute demo I didn't think this was the right time to go into it.

    Incredible!! Amazing use of a simple Blueprint class 😮
    I will add that you can use the trigger box to call an event for the blueprint, that way you don’t depend on the level sequence, the building will be moved with the timeline setting the transform in the Z axis 👍👍

    this might be by far one of the worst ue4 tutorial ever seen - it says for artists but I guess the artists need to be experts in blueprints. what happens at 7:35 ? black screen. what happens with the actor overlap blueprint? it does not work. there is no such blueprint. I am massively disappointed. I guess this video was just a paid off video because it has zero interest put in it.
