cis is a medical term from latin. there are times when it is necessary to distinguish wether a person is cis or trans. Hence why its used. its not a label, its a prefix.

Gender is an identity, because gender is a social construct. Tell me, what is a masculine color? Blue? Ok, well you just said we shouldn't invent new words so can I assume that we shouldn't invent new masculinity either? Because if so, Pink is the masculine color as it was in the 1700s while Blue is a feminine color. So if you wear blue, you're actually super girly.
We also know that all humans start their biological development as female. That is why males have nipples, for example, even if males cannot normally lactate. So outside of your genitalia, which is a pretty abysmal way of judging one's gender, how do you think gender is defined if not by social cues?
So it does boil down to our own perceptions of ourselves. Even the fact that in order to hurt and insult transpeople others call them by their non-preferred pronouns and say they are "obviously male/female", often only based on a picture of their face, shows how silly the idea of gender somehow being a biological concept is. It is entirely a social convention, and all that is being asked is for people to understand that their first impressions of other people can be wrong.
I mean, you've never approached a person from behind, maybe in your teens and thought they were a girl, only to find they were actually a long-haired boy, or vice versa? They don't have the brain of the opposite sex. There is nothing that makes them anything like the opposite sex. It is purely a psychological aliment according to all present evidence with no reason to assume otherwise. Like someone with strong body confidence issues who firmly wants needless plastic surgery instead of psychological help for the actual issue. Nearly all gender dysphoria that isn't "affirmed" completely disappears by age 13. Cases in people older than that often resolve when other mental health issues are addressed. In another new large study it was found that people who had transitioned (even just socially) had much worse mental health outcomes and worsened family relationships even in "supportive" environments. There are also recorded cases and anecdotes where powerful feelings of gender dysphoria have been completely alleviated by certain anti-psychotic medicines.
Yet some people ignore or don't know about all of that, and try to say that transition is the right cure, saying regret is rare, totally ignoring, and failing to realise, that someone is likely to continue to be sick if they already are and you keep encouraging it.
It is cruel to reinforce a person's false belief that will sign them up for a future of growth harming and unnecessary intensive hormonal treatments, surgical bodypart removals and complication filled, irreversible, not-fully functioning approximations of genitalia. They don't have the brain of the opposite sex. There is nothing that makes them anything like the opposite sex. It is purely a psychological aliment according to all present evidence with no reason to assume otherwise. Like someone with strong body confidence issues who firmly wants needless plastic surgery instead of psychological help for the actual issue. Nearly all gender dysphoria that isn't "affirmed" completely disappears by age 13. Cases in people older than that often resolve when other mental health issues are addressed. In another new large study it was found that people who had transitioned (even just socially) had much worse mental health outcomes and worsened family relationships even in "supportive" environments. There are also recorded cases and anecdotes where powerful feelings of gender dysphoria have been completely alleviated by certain anti-psychotic medicines.
Yet some people ignore or don't know about all of that, and try to say that transition is the right cure, saying regret is rare, totally ignoring, and failing to realise, that someone is likely to continue to be sick if they already are and you keep encouraging it.
It is cruel to reinforce a person's false belief that will sign them up for a future of growth harming and unnecessary intensive hormonal treatments, surgical bodypart removals and complication filled, irreversible, not-fully functioning approximations of genitalia. If someone is truly compassionate they will care about the consequences of blind affirmation, such as the stories of Scott Newgent or Chloe Cole, or the endless nightmarish recounts on the detrans subreddit... You can say your a woman or man or whatever bc you yourself, not your physical body, but rather your consciousness, your identity, bc its not about just what sexual part your born with. If your talking about that, technically speaking thats your keyword scientific gender, that is only your born sexual part and nothing else. When you just say the word gender, your not just talking scientifically. Gender is apart of identity. Don't believe me? Why do most every guy like manly things, like the color blue and not pink, you like monster trucks not makeup. These are all things how you feel about yourself, how you see yourself as, your IDENTITY. Nowadays, we tell boys what to like, and tell girls what to like. Gender isn't just penis or vagina anymore. It's funny bc this happened bc of all the people arguing this point or ppl with same type of mindset. You made stereotype roles, guidelines so to speak, for each gender, so that it's easier to fit in with one another. Oh we all boys, so we all like manly boy things, color blue, explosions cars etc. So now we HAVE made Gender apart of identity, bc we don't just associate your sexual body part with Gender, now when we think of boy, it's not just the scientific term, we think things that boys do, like, and accosiate with as well, aka who they are, aka identity. People can't help how they feel. You cant imagine yourself in a dress bc that's who you are and u can't help how u feel. They cant help that they only see themselves in a dress, regardless of their sexual part. Them saying they are a woman is them saying that's who they are identity wise, it doesn't matter if they were born with it or even have it in that moment, identity is a whole separate aspect. If you cant respect how people feel about and see themselves, then shows a lot about your character.
