I noticed in this arc the rules were if you used your deck master ability your deck master is then put on the field. As it happened in yugi’s duel. Don’t know if it’s a dubbing error. But it’s something I’ve noticed
Interesting. I always saw the two as distinct tricks. One is using your DM ability. And the other is choosing to put them on the field at your own risk. Noah’s was the one weird rule where he could revoke his deck masters presence on the field as long as he didn’t re-summon it. @@samparrish4870

Had that face down been something that could destroy a spell or trap card in the play (like Dust Tornado), they could've used it to destroy Nesbit's "Clockwork Knight". So not only would his Perfect Machine King lose the 500 ATK boost, but Tristan's Command Angel would convert back from a Machine to a Fairy-Type, making Perfect Machine Kind lose another 500 points, so his and St. Joan's ATK would be 3200 a piece, and the situation would've worked out the same (both of them would destroy each other, and with his Deck Master destroyed, Nesbit would lose automatically)!

The majority of Strike Ninja's hand seals were so hard to see and properly make out back then, mainly because you couldn't possibly have known about Kuji-In (the name of the nine hand signs he's performing) as a kid watching this show in the 2000's, but him wearing all black gloves and performing those hand seals in front of his black suit didn't help at all either 🤦🏻♂️ (oh and also those red glowing characters in front of the hands 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️)..... But nonetheless, it was and still is a cool moment. 👍

Remember when the Duelists actually didn't know what their deck master's abilities were and they either had to get lucky (Yugi), or be told (Teá/Joey/Serenity I think?). And eventually they decided "fuck it, we already know" (Kaiba, Duke, Yugi with Dark Magician, I think).
To be fair, Kaiba used monsters he was familiar with and dark magician even at the time had a plethora of options to work with, all of which Yugi knew very well.
Were they not allowed to play their partner's cards or something? Coming from Tag Force, going minus 2 to activate a set card is hilariously bad since you can always flip it as long as the conditions are met. This is definitely an anime moment, for sure.

Because those are real kanji hand signs, which means, respectively: "all warriors have been lined up in formation here".
YUGI actually has 3 friends that can duel properly. Joey, Bakura and Duke
Bakura doesn't count, since he never does his own dueling (it's always the Ring Spirit).
Imagine if Tristan just left a Trap card like Dust Tornado in that moment.
