Yea that guy is lame. I never saw Dave made any kind of shitty move. Unless you're doing some really shady stuff, maximising your position is the literal point of racing and dave made the podium with his racecraft and this guy didn't so

A lot has changed in 6 years! What was popular back then? I think it was just before I started 😁
I've been on iRacing for about 6 years so this made me think of how much it's changed in that time. I think they've done an amazing job and continue to lead the way for racing sims, IMO. If you never tried VR before, I highly suggest you do now. iRacing is very well optimized for it and the immersion is next-level.
I started iRacing february 2022, stopped in may or june and started again in this month. So much have change even in that time! FF1600 maybe the biggest, feels so good to drive. It's also a bummer there's no more renault 2.0 series :( Used to love to drive with it
oh this is the one I've been waiting for! Shame I made a mistake coming onto the last lap and couldn't go attack Sam.
This car is truly magnificent when you are around people you can trust. The slipstream here seems to be just right.

I started iRacing about two weeks ago and honestly these cars are my favourites across all the sims I’ve played to date!
The slower cars have the best racing, IMO. The fast stuff is more fun to practice and hotlap, but for wheel to wheel racing I think too many driver don't have enough respect for the closing speeds. I'm going to have to give these more attention. I'm usually in the F4.
@@angryginger791 Absolutley, I haven't hit the GTs yet, but there is something about these cars and the way they behave, that makes them a ton of fun and people seem to be respecting the racing.

I am one of those drivers that would rather lift and either stay behind someone or let another car by to ensure I survive.
If you crash out of races due to battling at every corner then you aren't really racing.
Races develop over time and many factors come into play and you need to be able to adapt on the fly.

Great race! Fun to watch. The only reason you two started to get dropped by the leaders were because you were fighting each other. If he worked with you for a lap you probably would have caught back up.
Watched the race back on his stream and wondered what the fuss was about as he seemed reasonable enough. Then the rant that came after it was fantastic 😂
I found myself remarking “Wow, That’s what good defensive driving looks like” as I watched your battle with Damien. I thought there was an instance of blocking on your part at one point going through the turn 3-4 section, but it wasn’t with malice or intent. You were just aligning the next turn forcing him to the outside. It’s tight there so I wouldn’t have issued a warning if I had my Steward Hat on. With pack racing this is bound to happen. The move of the race? The Orange car up the middle for 3-wide into T1. Which would not have been possible except you all had excellent car control in that lead pack. Very exciting to see that, good job by all 4 of you.
I was watching fellow racers streams that night here in Australia. It was a real honour to see you participate in so many sessions back to back. Was a bonus! Glad you're sharing your experience here as well of the night.

That was nail biting, well done Dave.
Dave, I love watching you use the h pattern shifter. I remember from a previous video that stated you use the clutch to up-shift and blip the accelerator to downshift. When up-shifting, try an old drag racing method, when accelerating you are at full throttle, when up-shifting, just quickly lift up on the accelerator then go back to full throttle. You don't need to lift fully when up-shifting, just a quick up-down to take the pressures off of the gears - at least in a real car. I have used it on the Ford Formula and the Lotus 49. Very quick and you will not need to use the clutch. I am using the anti-stall clutch setting when doing this method. Keep up the great videos and thanks for all the entertainment and knowledge you are sharing.

After I saw all the races yesterday, I hoped in for some practise at Summit Point after my Snetterton practise and oh boy... the magnificent beast is even more magnificent at Summit Point.
I will be spamming races there this weekend once I get Snetterton out of the way. We need this track in the Trophy series. 20 minutes race, open setup. It would be simply amazing!
Well this has gotten me well and truly in the mood for my track day this Saturday!

Well what can one say, when listening to someone who is so far up his own A hole, even his own chat turned against him at one point, racing is racing, doesn't matter how you race as long as it's clean, fair and on point, I saw nothing in what the lead pair did that wasn't right, drafting in these is where the gains are made, and his driver skills were lacking as he was all over the track because he was over driving the thing.
Anaway, enough about him, Well done Dave for not getting sucked into his silliness, and for holding out for the podium place, great content as usual from a great sim racer and content creator, I'm sure we will be blessed with more of this guys antics on track in the next few videos.
"Damien" sounds like Pablo. All he does is complain about people racing when it shows him down. Last time I checked, he signed up to a motor race when he clicked on the register button and they went motor racing. Michael Masi would agree.
Heres me thinking this race was amazing to watch, seeing you have fun and a blast. But then when I went to watch old mates twitch stream he really was not enjoying the Race. I guess I am way too trash to understand his comments. Thank you for all the content Dave. Have a great Easter.

I watched his stream that you linked to and to tell you the truth I had a hard time following his thought process. His argument doesn't make much sense to me. We should be battling every turn, every lap, every time... as long as I get to make the last pass. I agree with you, Dave. Damien or David or Mikhail or whatever he calls himself only likes close, hard racing if he's in front when it's all said and done. Tough luck, MikDamVid. Drive faster if you want to be in front. Furthermore, why does he need to belittle people who drive a certain type of car? I call him a bully. Piss on him.

I owned a Crossle FF for a while. The Ray is one of the few cars in iracing that feels even remotely realistic. You can actually drive it up to the edge with the feel in the wheel. I wonder if it’s because it’s so new and benefits from the best models?

I got back into Iracing last Christmas. Whenever I start a new track I always check your video to see how fast you are so I know what times to shoot for.

T5 is always so annoying on first lap cause cold tyres (and probably cold brakes?) and it's so easy to go long if you don't be carefull

I think Damiem/David is a little bit misunderstood to be fair. From someone that watches his streams, he just wants good racing. Aside from all that, these cars are phenomenal!
What is there to misunderstand about his silly rant though? He's going on about people not racing, when that is actually exactly what they're doing! It was a good battle between them all.

@@davecamyt Haha, people we like can still go on silly rants. 😁Heck, I do it at times as well. Racing gets the adrenaline flowing. Usually in hindsight we, ourselves, come to the realization that whatever we said probably wasn't worth it. I think we've all been there.

They guy was fast but that 3 wide he should have closed the gap to pin the inside person to the right of the track, then pulled out for a better line just before the corner.
His race craft was poor and he paid the price for it going for it every corner rather than trying to set you up and getting a run somewhere.

He's moaning on his Twitch stream about people not treating the series properly 😂 Sounds to me like he needs to setup some community races. I hate people who think people should treat iracing THEIR way. So many self entitled people on the service. I had problems with a guy in Ferrari Challenge, I was back on the service after some time away and was a bit off the pace but I was enjoying the competition. Me and this guy were having a good battle all race, or so I thought! At the end he was berating me with message after message about how I ruined his race 😂 He told me he flashed me as a courtesy to get out of his way. We finished 3rd and 4th for cripes sake. We loaded in for another race and he messaged publicly on the grid a list of names, including mine, saying "I will flash you to move, if you do not expect a report." Honestly, some people are just incredible.
He should go race in ams2 against the ai with them on max aggression they attack every corner even in qualifying
That was just good hard racing by all...No one did anything wrong .... Someone just didn't want to get beat - which is understandable

Yes h pattern dogbox. If you use clutch assists the shifts are slower. I did a video comparing and was surprised how much time is lost with auto blip or clutch
