      I have this exact headunit in my VW Jetta and with how it’s wired from their factory, it doesn’t drain the battery, at least in my experience. I’ve had it installed for about a year and change now

    Hi I've just replaced my old xtrons head unit with a erisin one now every time I turn the car off it goes back to the home page on my xtrons it would stay on the last app I used so abit annoying after I turn the car off I have to go searching for Spotify extra again. Is this something in the settings I need to change thank you please help 😅

    • @AlexHusTech
      @AlexHusTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry can't help you there, as every headunit is different, however seems like the erisin is completely shutting down, whereas your xtrons was on a soft shutdown and would keep your apps in memory.

      You can't boot into your headunit? There should be a reset hole if not try unplugging the unit a while and plug it back in again.

      Doing mods like that (changing boot logos) used to require root and some developer tools. Some custom ROMs have that built in nowadays (such as ones you install on a rooted phone, or the various car head units like this, etc). However, it's not uncommon for this "feature" to be integrated incorrectly. It's completely possible to "soft brick" a device when modifying core system files, such as the boot logos.
      If you're unable to do a factory reset (process varies by device), you're left with 2 options, off the top of my head:
      _1) Contact the vendor of your head unit and plead for help and such._
      _2) Learn more about Android, dig into those forums (XDA Developers for example), learn to use your Google-fu and get your Android-powered head unit back up and running again._
      Newer and higher quality hardware and Android OS environments have a lot more failsafe built in, and more mature custom ROMs have properly integrated more advanced custom system tweaks. The cheap head units like these? Very rare the engineers have taken the time to truly make a stable system. 99% of these units are the same core hardware and Android OS image that is flashed... save for a few changes (1GB RAM vs 2GB for example) and branding.
      It's for this very reason that getting to know the rooting process, systems backups and restores, custom ROM installs, and TRUE system customization are key to fully enjoy these types of units. Simply installing a launcher from the Play Store is *not* advanced! It's still the underlying buggy systems your head unit arrived with (and in some cases, bloated with malware behind the scenes). The first thing _everyone_ should do when they get one of these, is wipe it, install a custom clean AOSP-based ROM, and build up their completely custom experience from there. You'll see better performance from you device, you'll only have those features you want, and you'll have a more OEM feel to your Android system.

    • @Derjyn
      @Derjyn 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The classic way to do a full factory wipe/reset, is to hold something like a paperclip or toothpick in the reset hole, until the screen turns black and the hardware buttons flash. As soon as those start flashing, take your paperclip or toothpick out. You're now in the recovery menu. Scroll down to _wipe data/factory reset_. Some head units have knobs where you can scroll through the menu, otherwise you have to stick your paperclip back in the reset hole to "click" it in, which will move down the list of menu items in the recovery menu. I forget how to actually _select_ the item selected in the menu though... Once you figure that out though, you should be able to do a hard factory reset, and get back up and running. It should take several minutes.
      This process and that recovery menu are actually part of the process of rooting as well, and installing custom ROMs. So on top of possibly solving your soft-brick problem, you'll also be learning something useful if you want to do more advanced stuff.

    Q2 - main question will quick boot work i got Android 9.1 UI and i have taken off the constant power supply cable at the back as system would not turn off and stays on standby even when key is out of ignition. now problem fixed. but thinking if quick boot should still work ?

      Q2 My quick boot works with constant power cable off. I noticed some units didn't have this feature to turn on/off. Also apparey there is a small battery drain using this, it's never fully drained my battery though leaving it for a week.
