      If I get a kei truck, I am absolutely doing that.

    Hi bud, this is cool! Wondering if can I drive this in Minnesota?

      I’ve driven in Minnesota in snow, can’t see why not.

    That exhaust tone sounds great. Do you find this 660 non S/C powerplant provides more than enough power when you take out to higher elevation roads and trails?

      I don’t know about higher elevation, but the gearing is low enough that you can go on some gnarly hills. Only issue is the open differentials, that can limit your grip.

      Open diffs make trails intersting. Hasn't stopped my L400 Delica yet!

    What are your tire specs?

    • @turnbullgarage88
      @turnbullgarage88  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      ITP wheels and Mongrel tires, 23x8r12, but unfortunately they don't make that size anymore.

    Did you make the bumper or modify it to fit ?

    • @turnbullgarage88
      @turnbullgarage88  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Modified a YJ bumper. I have a video. Dedicated specifically for the bumper install.

      Thanks, I have an 05 on the slow boat and a bumper was at the top of the list @@turnbullgarage88

    I have a 92 Subaru Sambar that I am going to put the lift kit on. I live in North Idaho what are the best snow tires to run on it for plowing snow? I have 12 and 14 inch wheels to put the tires on.

      No clue really. I ran ATV tires that are DOT approved to 50mph. They seemed really good. The open differentials are the weak point for 4x4 driving. A dif lock will be a huge help.

    What tires are you using?

      Mongrel 23X8X12. Unfortunately they don't make that size anymore.

    Yo, how much money do you have to throw into one of these when you buy them?

    • @turnbullgarage88
      @turnbullgarage88  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends where you live, some areas will bring more money than others. I buy them when they need work and get them pretty cheap. Some parts and labour and you have a pretty nice rig.

      I got about 8k (counting the cost of the truck) total into mine. I am trying to clean up it up more than some people (I want it to be able to do long road trips). Currently spending money on fixing up the interior a bit (shifter, steering wheel, etc.). Put about 400 into the engine for standard maintenance and peace of mind stuff. I got KT tires imported from japan that was about 350. Many people just put wider then stock tires on tho. Put about 400 into the stereo lol. Cost about 150 to rebuild a CV joint that was failing.
      The one thing I tell anyone asking me about mine is you should know your way around an engine or know someone who does. They are definitely a bit of a project vehicle to own, but in that sense they are a toy. Everything is really easy to work on. The engine is practically a motorcycle engine (carborated). I have a 91 so there is absolutely no computer attached to the motor at all. Its pretty much a fancier lawn mower engine.
