It will be all over and see the loved ones again. As she left out her first step to the edge of the room. Something inside her heart tugged her back. "Don't." She didn't understand why. "Don't you want this pain to end forever? You'll see the people you love again. In other ways, you're just a waste of air and money anyways just like the teacher told you." a second voice told her. The other voice spoke " You'll regret jumping. You'll miss a lot of things in life." "MY LIFE WAS ALREADY RUINED ENOUGH FOR HER!" the other shouted. The girl didn't know which one to listen to. As her wrist didn't show the scars her heart was shattered and unmendable. But something inside told her to not do it. To come down. As about 30 minutes passed. The girl came down. She survived another day against her will.

Every full moon the girl wakes up at midnight and climbs the roof, and those times on the roof are the best times of her life. She has always felt lonely and empty, and so she goes to the roof for the last time. She looks to the moon and smiles finally feeling free and content. She falls backwards, feeling the exileration of the wind at her back with her gaze to the sky. Leaving behind the cold mansion and fake smiles. As the nears the ground she can only utter two words... "thank you"
my religious trauma tells me this; A kid whose always lacked faith, never really interested in the words of the church but still forced to go because of their family had been driven to a vulnerable state of mind due to the shame they've felt for not believing in a higher power. They find refuge on the roof of a cathedral, their mind in an incredibly dark place. The view is beautiful, a portrait made from heaven if the kid could believe in such a thing. Conflict tears the kid's heart in two, and suddenly, the open air beyond a marble ledge seems incredibly inviting. They prepare to jump. Maybe in death, they will finally have an answer to this chaos. They'll find peace, faith. But before they could raise a foot to jump, a statue of a winged figure questions the kid. Believing this was some desperate hallucination, the kid tries to ignore the moving concrete- until the one on their left decides to speak up. "Jumping, are we? That's certainly a way to get noticed." The winged figure chimes, disinterested in the child's turmoil. While the one on their left, also winged with bat-like features disagreed. "Don't listen to the angel, with as many eyes it has, it cannot see sorrow like I can." The kid, very confused, and ultimately terrified, watches as the statues converse back and forth. The topic being the very soul that stood between them. The angel scoffs "The unfaithful will find their punishment." The demon retorts, "Sit with me, your time does not end on holy ground." The kid looks down, a final time. Their hands trembling as the two statues argued, it was as if the conflict had physically manifested. Now, the ledge didn't seem quite as welcoming... EDIT!!! For those interested, I've made a wattpad so that I could continue this story, and explore religion :))! As well as write other stories, if you are interested, it's @theyriot

a life of dullness and cruelty, the poor child suffered. her so-called parents had done nothing but stab her consciousness with their sharp venom-laced words, tearing her up and spitting her out. as she ran up to the top of the building without her adults' knowledge, she sits on the edge. nothing but the quiet humming of the fan near her seat, she enjoyed the soft breeze that she would never feel ever again. or so she thought, as she stood up and removed her shoes, a voice reached out. "don't go." it said, "please", its voice was as soft as marshmallows and as warm as the fireplace on a cold december . her feet itched to jump, but as she tried, her heart couldn't. it yearned for love because it knew that the world isn't as dark as the girl thought. before she could shake her heart off, "please, you'll regret it." and so, she hid the scars on her wrist, put her shoes back on, and came back down. she knew the world is cruel now, but it's up to her to make it a better place. and she will.
If you like this then if you go to a accoum called olivialee she has this song in this version and others like on a song called “a playlist for Greek gods and goddesses” something like that
Achilles , Achilles Achilles come down, won't you Get up off , get up off the roof? I'm talking to you I'm talking to you . I'm talking to you I'm talking to you Achilles come down Achilles come down Throw yourself into the unknown With pace and a fury defiant Clothe yourself in beauty untold And see life as a means to a triumph Today of all days , see How the most dangerous thing is to love How you will heal and you'll rise above Crowned by an overture bold and beyond Ah, it's more courageous to overcome
I'm listening to this with headphones (not earbuds), and let me tell you guys, my ears are literally vibrating. Listening to this super loud is definitely recommended!
This song sounds like how a sunrise looks. edit: i should probably add i have something kinda like synesthesia with certain things and this song happened to look like a sunrise. the vibe of this song does not fit that at all.
To me it’s a wild rain storm in a dense forest in the almost black of night with the wind giving adrenaline to the person running through the forest 😭😂
For me, it’s like a sunset after a hard day - the day constantly berating you to end it, to stop the pain, yet still in the end you refuse it. The sun goes down and then you can start again, fighting against the will of the world, deciding to live another day and see the next sunset Idk why, it just paints a gorgeous story of survival against the odds. A story of pain, yet in the end, rapture. A story of believing in yourself and deciding to push on, day after day, week after week, year after year.
hits different at 1:51 am on christmas when you have nothing but bad memories associated with the holiday and you’re thinking about how things would be if you were gone and how close you’ve come before and wondering why you stopped yourself and sobbing all the while
This is so....its not Christmas but it's 1:53 am. Its 1st Feb and I cant stop thinking about my regrets and all the bad times and everything that happened
I imagine this happening after Achilles jumps and he's sitting in Hades remembering his lover begging him to get off the roof, waiting to see if he get into Elysium or if he gets punished.
Which translates to: "I see a lot of people die because they don't believe that life is worth living, and I see others who paradoxically get killed for the ideas, the illusions that gave them a reason to live. What we call a reason to live is also an excellent reason to die."
My POV: I’m standing on the roof, thinking about my life and how much it hurts to live but I think about all the people who love me but it quickly switches to all the bad things they’ve done and how easy it would be to just end it all. Which is better, people being happy with you living while you slowly die inside or for your loved ones to be sad when you’re finally happy for once? My friend is on the roof with me trying to talk me out of it, but is living in pain worth it? She tells me of all the good things as tears stream down my face. “The good things are only temporary,” I say to her, “After that, it’s only pain.” I close my eyes as I stand on the edge, feeling the bitter wind whispering jump. She says back to me, “please don’t do this!” But the wind screams yes and my mind says yes. She grabs my hand and holds it for a few minutes before I step down, collapsing in a heap of tears and pain. She holds me as we sit together on the roof not talking. A few moments pass as tears fall even harder and I say to her in a choked sob, "It hurts." She kisses the top of my head and says, "I know it does. I know"
He was standing on the rooftop, on the top of the house. When his mind told him stop, he said no I will jump. His heart told him jump, he said no I will fly. In the end his mind won, and he came down to cry. But when his mind fell asleep, in the night in his sleep, His heart took control, and his heart wanted out. And so out his heart went, and out his soul went, and dead his mind went, who still thought it was asleep
I only have two things that I can think of at 5:29-6:32 . One is the Son and the Daughter talking to Anakin. Even though the Son represents the dark side of the force, he is trying to convince Ani of his worth to the Jedi and the light. He trying to convince him to stay with the light because he knows what will happen if he doesn't. And even though the Daughter represents the light side of the force, she however, is trying to convince him to the dark. She is trying to confuse him and make him believe Palpatine is right and that the Jedi don't believe in him. She also knows what will happen if he turns and she wants it. The Father is the one speaking in french, the french which (roughly) translates into "Memories of a lost homeland, or the hope of a promised land. This divorce between the man of his life". The Father is watching as his children try to convince Anakin aka, The Chosen One, to either stay and convert. All that he can do is give this little bit of information out as he watches and hopes for Anakin to take the right side. All, the Son, the Daughter, and the Father all know if he goes to the dark, the Mother will return. Sadly, the Daughter wins and he turns. The "I'm talking to you" At the end is Vader coming out to take over. Then I have this, Ahsoka, Padmé, and Obi-Wan are in the back of Anakin's mind, telling him to go back to before, be done with the sith and the dark side of the force, get off the roof of the dark side and go back. However, Palpatine is trying to silence these voices, making him stay to be his slave of the force. Luke is the french, who is also trying to convince him to return to the light. Return and accept the voices of the people he cared about the most. Anakin is the french as he is talking to Vader, also telling him to listen to his son and old loved ones. The 4 voices begin to blur, only Anakin and Luke's being what he can understand. He finally gives into 6 voices an get's rid of Palpatines and turns to the light. He died as one with the light, he died like he should have. He died with the last thing him seeing was his sons face. He was finally at peace, for the first time in 23 years. The final "I'm talking to you" is Padmé and Obi-Wan, finally seeing Anakin again, for the time in 23 years. Ahsoka is also the last "I'm talking to you" as she is finally feels a change in the force. She finally feels the presence of her old master again, before it soon goes away.
all of these are stories written about abuse or depression but this version makes me think of something else, it makes me think of a person descending into insanity but in the way its only ever written. its beautiful and hollow and peaceful. its how Oscar wilde wrote about death and how Scott Fitzgerald wrote about love. its the golden colour from the sun on a early summers morning, when you've not slept and the sun rises at 4am, you just sit and stare at it and you know that each time you drift further away from sanity but its how Icarus felt. as he flew closer and closer to the sun, feeling the wax melt and the wind in his ears, I do not believe he was afraid. i think he laughed and smiled because Icarus knew that even in death it was beautiful
A cold autumn night with the moon shining above, watching the young woman walking alone. No one ever came to these woods anymore, but she was never scared. Why should she be when she herself was the most frightening thing this night had to offer? She breathed deeply and let the crisp night air fill her lungs, rich with the scent of the fallen leaves that crunched underfoot. Feeling the chill bite at her skin as she lifted her head to look at the waning moon above, she felt perfectly at peace. If someone had told her five short years ago that she'd still be alive, much less happy, she would have agreed with no belief or faith behind it. A bright peel of her laughter fills the near silent night as she throws out her arms and spins, bathing in how the relief and peace she feels have combined into euphoria within her. How proud she is for surviving everything that tried to kill her, herself included. How long it took to heal, how shocked and relieved and at peace she was in realizing she was safe. After years of silent pain and tears and hurt, she was finally safe. How much joy and love she now feels everyday she's blessed to not just survive, but live. And how very doomed is anyone who dares try to take her happiness again.
This song has saved my life more than once. It although sad encourages me to keep going. If not for me to spite the universe that ripped my dad away from me.

"Don't listen to the angel, with as many eyes it has, it cannot see sorrow like I can."
The kid, very confused, and ultimately terrified, watches as the statues converse back and forth. The topic being the very soul that stood between them. The angel scoffs "The unfaithful will find their punishment."
The demon retorts, "Sit with me, your time does not end on holy ground."
The kid looks down, a final time.

I’ve been trying to find a slowed and reverb version of Achilles come down for so long, thank you for making this 💕
If you like this then if you go to a accoum called olivialee she has this song in this version and others like on a song called “a playlist for Greek gods and goddesses” something like that
Achilles
, Achilles
Achilles come down, won't you
Get up off
, get up off the roof?
You're scaring us
, and all of us
Some of us love you
Achilles, it's not much but there's proof
You crazy-assed cosmonaut
Remember your virtue
Redemption lies plainly in truth
Just humour us
, Achilles
Achilles come down
Won't you get up off
Get up off the roof
Achilles
, Achilles
Achilles come down, won't you
Get up off
, get up off the roof?
The self is not so weightless
Nor whole and unbroken
Remember the pact of our youth
Where you go
, I'm going
So jump and I'm jumping
Since there is no me without you
Soldier on
, Achilles
Achilles come down
Won't you get up off
Get up off the roof?
Loathe the way they light candles in Rome
But love the sweet air of the votives
Hurt and grieve but don't suffer alone
Engage with the pain as a motive
Today of all days
, see
How the most dangerous thing is to love
How you will heal and you'll rise above
Achilles
, Achilles
Achilles
, jump now
You are absent of cause
Or excuse
So self-indulgent
And self-referential
No audience could ever want you
You crave the applause
Yet hate the attention
Then miss it, your act is a ruse
It is empty, Achilles
So end it all now
It's a pointless resistance
For you
Achilles
, Achilles
Just put down the bottle
Don't listen to what you've consumed
It's chaos, confusion
And wholly unworthy
Of feeding and it's wholly untrue
You may feel no purpose
Nor a point for existing
It's all just conjecture and gloom
And there may not be meaning
So find one and seize it
Do not waste your self on this roof
Hear those bells ring deep in the soul
Chiming away for a moment
Feel your breath course frankly below
See life as a worthy opponent
Today of all days
, see
How the most dangerous thing is to love
How you will heal and you'll rise above
Crowned by an overture bold and beyond
Ah, it's more courageous to overcome
You want the acclaim
The mother of mothers (it's not worth it Achilles)
More poignant than fame
Or the taste of another (don't listen Achilles)
But be real and just jump
You dense motherfucker (you're worth more, Achilles)
You will not be more
Than a rat in the gutter (so much more than a rat)
You want my opinion (no one asked your opinion)
My opinion you've got
You asked for my counsel (no one asked for your thoughts)
I gave you my thoughts
Be done with this now
And jump off the roof
(and get off the roof)
Can you hear me Achilles?
I'm talking to you
I'm talking to you
.
I'm talking to you
I'm talking to you
Achilles come down
Achilles come down
Throw yourself into the unknown
With pace and a fury defiant
Clothe yourself in beauty untold
And see life as a means to a triumph
Today of all days
, see
How the most dangerous thing is to love
How you will heal and you'll rise above
Crowned by an overture bold and beyond
Ah, it's more courageous to overcome
I feel like a maiden in flowing dress running through a large castle with flowers in my hair whenever I listen to this
idk if this sounds weird but this song makes me feel certain emotions that i only feel when i listen to it
5:30
Saving this for myself but the "you want the acclaim" part starts here with the two voices fighting
I can't even explain how this makes me feel.
It's unreal
I'm listening to this with headphones (not earbuds), and let me tell you guys, my ears are literally vibrating. Listening to this super loud is definitely recommended!
mmmmsame 😌
listening to this while reading "the song of achilles" (madeline miller) ... it is an experience. it adds on to the pain that the book itself gives.
I want this instrumental so bad I love the violin
i think it's violoncello actually (sorry I'm such a music geek) bc it's too deep for a violin
@@aaalejandritaaa so viola
i think its a cello it has the depth and deep tone to it like a cello dose
This song sounds like how a sunrise looks.
edit: i should probably add i have something kinda like synesthesia with certain things and this song happened to look like a sunrise. the vibe of this song does not fit that at all.
To me it’s a wild rain storm in a dense forest in the almost black of night with the wind giving adrenaline to the person running through the forest 😭😂
For me, it’s like a sunset after a hard day - the day constantly berating you to end it, to stop the pain, yet still in the end you refuse it. The sun goes down and then you can start again, fighting against the will of the world, deciding to live another day and see the next sunset
Idk why, it just paints a gorgeous story of survival against the odds. A story of pain, yet in the end, rapture. A story of believing in yourself and deciding to push on, day after day, week after week, year after year.
it sounds like the secret emotions you feel when you watch the sun rise
Pink and cheery? Yeah totally
to me, its a thunderstorm and purple lighting everywhere
hits different at 1:51 am on christmas when you have nothing but bad memories associated with the holiday and you’re thinking about how things would be if you were gone and how close you’ve come before and wondering why you stopped yourself and sobbing all the while
thiS IS EXACTLY HOW I SPENT THE HOLIDAYS GET OUT OF MY HEAD
This is so....its not Christmas but it's 1:53 am. Its 1st Feb and I cant stop thinking about my regrets and all the bad times and everything that happened
This version of the song’s vibe is like: “Achilles grieving Patroclus death and then smiling when the arrow strike him down”
I really have weird beautiful feelings when i listen to this song, i don't know how to describe it so imma cry
BRO ITS AMAZING I LOVE IT THE AESTHETIC IS ON POINTTTT🥺🥺💕💕🌼💕🌼
ty so much !
I don't know why, buy this is making me feel comforted. Like it just gives me reassurance and almost feels like the song wraps me up in a hug
Bro I love how this song just blew up
I imagine this happening after Achilles jumps and he's sitting in Hades remembering his lover begging him to get off the roof, waiting to see if he get into Elysium or if he gets punished.
Honestly thanks for this, the slowed down version of this song is exactly what I needed right now, been giving me life
i'm glad you liked it!

Me loving the original ver and nct being the reason
I thought it was baekhyun-
oh, my lord, this song is giving me LIFE. it educes such strange feelings within me, but its not a bad thing. idk how to describe it.
The talked part at 2:37 is actually French, he says,
"Je vois que beaucoup de gens meurent parce qu'ils estiment que la vie ne vaut pas la peine d'être vécue, et j'en vois d'autres qui se font paradoxalement tuer pour les idées, les illusions qui leur donnent une raison de vivre. Ce qu'on appelle une raison de vivre est en même temps une excellente raison de mourir"
Which translates to:
"I see a lot of people die because they don't believe that life is worth living, and I see others who paradoxically get killed for the ideas, the illusions that gave them a reason to live. What we call a reason to live is also an excellent reason to die."
This song is everything.
I know"
i need a 1 hour version right now
I didn’t think the song could get any better
when you really analyze this song- it’s crazy
the way gang of youths puts the struggle of suicide and mental health problems into words is amazing
Chills, I got chills.....
He was standing on the rooftop, on the top of the house.
When his mind told him stop, he said no I will jump.
His heart told him jump, he said no I will fly.
In the end his mind won, and he came down to cry.
But when his mind fell asleep, in the night in his sleep,
His heart took control, and his heart wanted out.
And so out his heart went, and out his soul went, and dead his mind went, who still thought it was asleep
This song holds so much power I swear 🙌
i thought i was over this book but somehow i always end up back here
What the actual flick
This is absolutely amazing!
pov : youre watching zeus ruin everything
I- omg I can't... This is immaculate
She finally feels the presence of her old master again, before it soon goes away.
me listening to this while reading the song of achilles ❤️😀
Every time I listen to this I hear 'and jet off the roof' instead of 'get' and 'jump'
all of these are stories written about abuse or depression but this version makes me think of something else, it makes me think of a person descending into insanity but in the way its only ever written. its beautiful and hollow and peaceful. its how Oscar wilde wrote about death and how Scott Fitzgerald wrote about love. its the golden colour from the sun on a early summers morning, when you've not slept and the sun rises at 4am, you just sit and stare at it and you know that each time you drift further away from sanity but its how Icarus felt. as he flew closer and closer to the sun, feeling the wax melt and the wind in his ears, I do not believe he was afraid. i think he laughed and smiled because Icarus knew that even in death it was beautiful
I literally couldn't imagine anyone than "ACHILLES AND HIS PATROCLUS "
what a brilliant work of music.
Thank you for this!
I always come back to this... too good! Always gets my creative juices flowing, esp in the fall :-)
this is my 20th time today alone listening to this version
This song literally made me buy song of Achilles
This is stunning!!!!!!
I'm so mad I'm only discovering this song now. I love it so much!!
This heals me spiritually
