Again they are clearly wrong. But pain, suffering, and death do not care about right and wrong. Wrong people get to live every day. Right people die all the time. Be smart and you choose. Obviously this man here knew he'd rather be right, and doing fine as opposed to right, and laying with his face busted on the ground. I am black, I was arrested for something I didn't do, guess what? I let them arrest me. Nothing bad happened and the charges were dropped before I even reached the arraignment

I feel like a white person, like myself, getting into it with the law while they're with friends of other races is extremely eye opening. Me and my guys got in trouble for smoking weed in a construction site about 10 years ago, and the only person the 2 cops treated with respect was myself. There was 5 of us, and I was the only white guy there. They didn't cuff me, but used their 2 pairs of cuffs to detain my other 4 friends by cuffing them together, who again were all hispanic. They only talked to me, and ended up letting us go with warnings because we were underage and didn't have any more weed on us besides what the cops already stomped out. When it comes to a bad cop we have to go deeper than just the uniform. We have to look at the heart of the person wearing the uniform. Some of these cops have hearts that are filled with hatred and evilness. All the laws in the world can't change that. You can't legislate a person's good character. Either you have one or you don't.

People of conscience need loudly proclaim they won't sign up until the ones like this guy are gone. Place the accountability back on the hierarchy, either deal with racism in a genuine and top-to-bottom manner, or show the world you'd rather protect racists than do that.

Asians aren’t viewed as threats in this country, many people don’t like y’all but they aren’t scared of y’all. So we used to have a thing where I'm from called jump out Tuesdays (and Thursdays) where the police jump out on random black males looking for anything they can lock them up for. I was, at the time, dating a white girl from the suburbs (about an hour from the city). We were leaving my house and heading to hers for a cookout with my cousin and his girlfriend. When I exit my house after everyone else I see the Police with my cousin on the ground, his girl arguing with the police, and my girl in her car crying. When they finally let us go, and I'm in the car with her, she's going on about how she's never seen anything like that, and couldn't understand why would they do that to him. In that moment it hit me that there is a large portion of (white) America that truly doesn't think that racism exists. They don't hate black people, the people they know don't openly talk about hating black people so we assume they don't, so It's not a real thing. It's just not something that they think about. It's like that Dave Chappelle joke about whites finding out about police brutality in Newsweek after Rodney King.

As f***ed up as it sounds, you just accepted the fact that this was going to happen to you eventually. it's just a part of growing up Black in Baltimore. I think the reason it affected her so much because she has a biracial son (that looks more black than white) and that was the first time that it hit her that her son could go through these things, and she was in no way prepared teach him how to deal with it. Forget the things that she knows that she has to tell him, this was something that she didn't even know existed that could detrimentally harm her son. She later asked if I could talk to her son about dealing with the police. She said she never saw her son as a black boy, just as a boy, and she didn't know how to prepare him for a world that she, as a white woman, knows nothing about. She said she was, for the first time, truly scared of her son's life. It was a heartbreakingly beautiful moment (if that makes any sense) to see her get an understanding of what it is that I (& a lot of other black men) have had to deal with my entire life.
