The fact that you can play it on 0.5 speed and it’s still more fluent than some openings nowadays! That’s definitely full 24 fps! Kyoto Animation really enjoyed making super fluent dance animations in their opening around that period of time. Suzumiya Haruhi and Luck Star both have so good opening animations. Props to the animators

Really? I got it very easily, I'm 18 and learned this dance at age of 12. I still do it when I heard this dance. I know it by heart. You'll get it! :) I'm a dancer so :p The only part I couldn't do is the one where they spin their arms. Like right after the step when they look like they're catching something.
i never got to experience this anime during its height in the early to late 2000s. i discovered it on thursday on pure accident. i finished the entire show in one day, both seasons and movie. since then it has overtaken any anime that i have watched and has cemented itself as my favorite anime series of all time- even above naruto- something i truly enjoyed. kyon & haruhi will ALWAYS be my favorites. i cannot believe that such an amazing show is honestly not even that popular. sure, it gets repetitive at times (Endless 8), and yes, haruhi is an obnoxious egomaniac but that's what makes it worth the while. seeing haruhi break out of her character towards kyon are some of the best moments, kyon's sarcastic remarks are hilarious, and i cant forget the monologue in The Disappearance that was, in my opinion, possibly the greatest monologue in any anime (mind you i've honestly not watched very many anime if im being honest so i might be a bit biased). i seriously recommend any who have not watched or read the manga to DO SO!!! it revolutionized my anime experience and i think it would for other people, as well. though i could do without the harassment of mikuru lol

I chose the smaller rural one, thinking it would be more reasonable for me. During my HS years (2006-2010) I was a closet anime fan. Very few others knew what "anime" even was, just very basic stuff like DBZ and Avatar the last Airbender. (I'm pretty sure no-one else was aware of such things as Guren Lagann, Soul Eater, D. Gray Man, Ponyo, or Fairy Tail). I thought anime was still a niche underground thing. It wasn't until college (2010) that there were a lot more "anime awareness" than I thought. (Not that I consider that a good thing anymore).
I like the ending and especially the dance is because... One, Haruhi is not harrassing Mikuru, and is actually enjoying herself (Thank god...) Two, the boys look hilarious in there. And, most importantly, Three, it's just the amazing fact that you can see Yuki dancing! She's awesome and cute at the same time! She will always be my favorite character~

Try not to be put off by anime that are for girls. Some can be really good even if they're meant for the opposite gender. If you think like that you'll miss out on tons of anime that you could have enjoyed. (e.x. K-on and Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?)
