- Life on the road, although super fun for the most part, can be challenging. Sometimes, we need to find a moment to check in with our fundamentals to bring us back to our centre. Join me to play my long tones to find some calm on a tour day.

Your 30 days long tones I just finished them last month and already I have noticed the change in my ability to play its become so much better. I honestly think every student, beginner would benefit from doing 30 days of long tones as a must before anything else is practiced if my instructor had given me this to practice years ago id be a lot more advanced a lot sooner. Tks Brain you inspire me to keep tooting away.
I’m glad you’ve found the benefit in your long tones. I agree that they’re worthwhile, but it’s not the right thing for every beginner. Some of us have to be engaged enough to endure the apparent tedium of playing them, others have an earlier appreciation for that kind of process.
@@AirflowMusicNYC True, it would be an interesting study do to take 10 beginners 5 in learning just scales 1st basic notes and 5 just solely doing long tones of basic notes and after a month give them a simple piece of music to learn, in one week ask them to come back and play the piece I wonder if there would be a difference. For me I am so glad I done the 30 days because I was struggling to move into the next stage of being able to play more challenging pieces, I am grateful. Excited with your next piece of work, looking forward to going on this journey with you your very kind and generous with your time Bryan as a fan I appreciate this.
Hi Brian, I’m not familiar with the 30 days LONG TONES!
Where will I find them?
Thanks and have a good time traveling!

I'll update the video description with the link right now.
Hello brian tell me is it good to practice Longstone smoothly
Perhaps I’m not understanding - is there a different way to practice them?
Nice Ray Robinson mute!
it’s actually not - modern copy by Huber Mutes. My Ray Robinson was starting to show its age, so I don’t tour with it any longer.
Imagine after a long day on the road and you check in to your hotel to catch some zzzz's... And then find out Brian Davis is next door. Oy!
I’m very considerate and NEVER play open horn in the room. You wouldn’t know I’m there!
