you should add UV reflecting window tint...thatll stop UV yellowing. The amount of pieces you have in sets ALONE is absolutely insane tbh, let alone the rest. Shits super impressive, till you see all the bins chocked full of a few million more and realize just how HUGE of an amount there is
I was just coming here to say this but realize I’m a bit late to this video’s release. This is the best answer. Only thing I’d say is go overkill and do inside and out. 😅
Sunlight (ultraviolet light) doesn't only affect the color of Lego, it also degrades Lego plastic. It makes it brittle. The most damaging kind of ultraviolet light goes right through clouds and right through ordinary glass. I try to keep Lego away from sunlight completely.
I love the overflow stickers. I did something similar but numbered all my bins with a price gun. The price gun stickers are super cheap and easy to change out if needed. I put the bin number on the left side of each handle. If I have more of that part in bulk, I put them in a larger bulk container and place the location sticker of the overflow bin on the lower right corner of the original bin. It makes finding restock really easy.
For your bin room may I suggest, each section is a letter. Each row is a number , each bin is a letter. Ko5b, section k, shelf 5, bin b . B09f, section b, row 9, bin f. Finding things is so much faster.
Thanks for the tour! And for talking about your shelving system! And I am really glad to know about those tables, it hadn’t occurred to me that it would make such a difference depending on how level they need to be. Thanks again and Merry Christmas!
Seeing these studio or collection videos I always wondered how hard it was to dust everything after a while, cool you showed off your piece for dusting, nice studio man coming along well
you have your bulk brick sorted the same way they have/had it sorted at the Model shop at LEGOLAND California. At least that's how they sorted it when I worked there
Good system for sorting and organizing your bricks. Most impressive :) Merry Christmas and thanks for the amazing content you're providing us with over the years!
If you want to prevent yellowing at the windown, just stick UV filtering sheets on the window panes. It's pretty easy to do without leaving bubbles (think phone protector application) and will completely solve the issue.

You should get numbered colored stickers! A few sets. So if it's a white 47 on the bin you showed, you can stick a white 47 on the bin(s) that hold the extra
You can put UV absorbing foils on the windows. They darken the window a little bit, what is good for filming, and they cancel the yellowing-effect on your lego.

you should look into aluminum honeycomb panels. they come in 4'x8' and larger. put an edge on them and they can used as moveable platforms. they are strong enough for the builds but light enough for travel and transport.
Hey about your window, you could probably try adding an anti uv film to your window to stop the inevitable yellowing of your sets. I hope this is useful to you.

Just saw this now. That bin with the sticker noting extra bins with more of xyz part is a very smart idea. I was thinking of those plastic bags with white blocks for marking would be enough of a good idea if you have enough for a bag but not a bin. what you have is what I'm trying to do once I set up a room for this.
Look into the Rubbermaid twin track for shelves. They hold a lot more weight and you can move the selves as you increase your sets or reorganize. And the price is good for what you get. I recently installed a 5 foot wide shelf by 7 feet high. Only cost me about $200 for everything.
Love your sorting system. I had to use my kitchen table last night to check pieces off my IRON GIANT moc list. Lol. I was thinking, there must be a better way. And it is your way, it is the way!
Get some so.e black and white poster board to cover the window to block the sunlight. Layer of black then a layer of white then nothing will discolor. Or you could tint the window with the darkest tint ya can get.
really great. But I think if I would start picking boxes to store LEGO, to use some that have the front NOT having a cut-out. YOu can only fill them to 1/3 of their capacity right now!
No one likes to dust their lego collection. As a moderate SW lego buyer, you need a cabinet system. Modify an existing cabinet you can buy to where dust cannot get in, and then never dust them. Can it get expensive? A bit. But I feel like what's more costly to your time and sanity is the exponential accumulation of dust when you slowly add more sets. And you also kind of lock yourself into sets that will fit into that system which can be helpful in limiting what you buy. I still won't touch the Moff Gideon cruiser because, while it would fit, isn't worth the space it would take up because of how mid it is. And you can still have some really big sets, you just have to hand dust those ones every 6 months or so instead of those plus ALL of the smaller ones.
few tips: #1 put a uv filter on your window they sell rolls on amazon #2 the dyson duster is the shit , incase you need a longer hose u can use the dog grooming hose to extend a little bit more than the duster one incase u own both accessory's
Wow, it looks amazing!!! THe C70 is a great camera, I just opened my new A7S III form Sony and 24-70 GM II. So excited to start shooting. Your videos look so great, best cinematography in the LEGO space :-)
The continued progress and work going towards the new rooms is just insane bro, seeing all those bulk parts, completely sorted and categorized just motivates myself and I bet others to do so. Great video as always bro
Amazing work on the Studios and the sorting David. Being a small collector myself I sometimes go crazy with the sorting and managing a system but seeing your work is really inspiring. Much love and appreciation from Pakistan!
I use a super soft natural bristle pastry brush (German I think). I once saw a TH-camr use a regular vacuum nozzle with a piece of panty hose held over the opening with a rubber band.
You could also use a 1x1 circle tile(white), and attach it to the front piece that is on the bin already, instead of a sticker on side of the bin. Keep up the great work!
How do you purchase your bricks for your large MOCs? Pick a brick and brick link seem convenient but are both so expensive. Do you have any suggestions for people building on a budget?
Wow, I don't watch the channel much but I'm impressed by the lego part collection and system. It's a dream to have something like that, or at least something like Bricksie has. Just a big parts collection to build basically anything. I have a small parts collection that I built my first little moc of a cowboy by a creek with his horse with a month ago? Or 3 weeks ago. I'd also like to have a lego city, but not a typical flat one, one that has quite a bit of terrain details etc. I have a lot of my lego city sets still built otherwise I'd have a lot more bulk parts but saving them for my future city.
ive been collecting for just over 18 months, started due to being at home a lot with the covid thing and my own illness i decided to get at the same time, gave me something else to focus on, ive got approximately 50 - to 60 sets in that time of varying scales with about 10% still to build, including 2 i got for christmas.. until i watch videos like these i think ive got a lot lol. but i can still fit all my spare pieces in one 9L 'really useful' storage box. and my sets are just laid out on one table, planning to get a shelf or two to put them on.
You really need to build a steel building or a pole barn. Then you can have 1 dedicated space to house and show the Legos and have an office for work and studio.
I was so glad you linked the shelves because I went straight to buying some. yet, the large shelf ends wont ship to my zip. Just seems im screwed. Sucks to suck.

@@reazyy9667 oh just the razor crest being on the bottom shelf is nuts. Its like my most prized set so its funny seeing it not front and center. Just proves he has a crazy collection
You don't need more shelves. You just need to have self-control and curate. It was HARD for me, but I was able to finally come to peace with it. Shelves look sharp now, not cluttered.
I truly feel that it's not efficient or sensical for a LEGO Moc builder to hoard, store, and organise an entire collection of loose parts, buying and taking apart bulk and sets just to fill an entire wall of shelves and storage. Maybe I'll start a business where I buy an immense amount of pieces, like thousands of everything, where people come and pick, build, use what they need, and pay for parts used if taking home, so you essentially skip the middle man of using brick websites and storing at home, and just build what you need at a store. Because when you've got all that bulk leftover, its just that, leftover, and unless you're rich an American with a big house, it's just not possible. Imagine this LEGO MOC business as a subscription model thing like Netflix, instead of you owning an entire DVD archive of every movie and show to watch whenever, you just watch select things at a vastly reduced cost.
It’s such a minor thing, but I think that it would look way cooler and be more practical to super glue the piece in at the front of the bin to make it prettier and make it so it doesn’t fall out with an unlucky touch
Thank you for doing this. I’m currently designing my display for built sets. How much are you into you display in the Studio? Thank you for all you do.
