To anyone considering (or about to embark on) a study abroad program/me, please absorb the enthusiasm in this video. Be brave, be happy, and remember that travel is the only thing you can buy that makes you richer.
I did the same thing! I studied in Florence, Italy last spring for a 4 month semester and absolutely adored it. It inspired me to change my academic direction and so I graduated in the fall (which I had pushed back to study abroad) and then started looking for master's programs in archaeology in Italy. I got into an excellent, world-class university in Padua, Italy and I start my master's program this fall! Thanks for all the advice and things to look forward to :)
Hi! I’m currently thinking about also apply for masters degree in Italy. Can I contact u somewhere else and ask a couple of questions please? I’m not a creep btw hahaha
I am still so so proud of you for pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and making the most of your time abroad! Your growth since you first arrived in London is crazy and you are inspiring so many students xx
If you've bought too many clothes and other items here you could always parcel some of them up and send them home before your leaving date. Say maybe a month to a month and a half. Use one of those vacuum bags.
@@viewerfr-s3g hi!! it was awesome :) i got to travel so much and see so many cool things. it was really hard at times but it was also truly once in a lifetime, i would do it again in a heartbeat.
This is very good advice. I'm British (living in London now). I worked in Sydney and New York, and have always felt that I did not make enough use of my time in both those cities. A journal is a good idea. I did that in India but not otherwise. The time to try things is when you are young, so do it (with the sensible provisos you mentioned). Your friends and family should want you to do that so should support you and understand your motives. You clearly have grown as a person. Keep doing what you are doing and good luck with your fashion career. I'd expect that London would be a good place to study fashion because people dress in so many styles here.
I might have came across this video too soon (I'm going to UK next year, given that it's beginning of 2024 rn). Your energy is so positive :) One of my biggest concern everywhere I go is I won't be able to make any friends lol. This video is reassuring. Saving it to rewatch later :')
I love that you stumbled across this 🫶🏼 Also, I think my playlist of my first time study abroad’s in London will help ease those feelings of anxiousness. I recorded my whole journey as I also moved across the world not knowing anyone. It’s all on my channel 🤍 goodluck!
I’m honestly mostly excited I need to start planning where I will be for college/Uni because honestly, where I am it’s hard to meet new people and most people around my school I can’t relate to and not having made proper connections is SO HARD. So for the social aspect I’m excited and I wanna go abroad atleast for one year because I want an experience like that I wanna be in a new culture. I feel like figuring it out will be a lot like traveling and figuring out the stuff, it’s honestly exciting for me mostly, that is if I’m able to even study abroad. But IMA HOPE
I had a lot of regret when I went to my Master’s in London. I missed out on 2 family weddings and so many more little milestones and holidays that I took for granted. But, all this to say that you learn to appreciate more things once you decide to go back! And you grow so much as a person and become an even more well rounded version of yourself 🤍 It is painful and you do feel a lot of growth pains but something worthwhile never comes super easy 🤍
Hopefully Izzy when you eventually leave London. A little bit of English culture will stay in your heart ❤ Recalling all your adventures to your children in the future will be amazing. 😊
i'm a junior in high school right now, and i'm seriously considering going to college in london. do you have any advice on application processes/good things to have on my applications, and the best way to go about this? i'm trying to get as many opinions as possible
honestly I'm still scared about making friends, I'm an exchange student so I'm probably going to be in an orientation with people entering the college for a full undergrad
I'm applying for a homestay program for high schoolers mainly this winter. But my English is already like B2 or possibly C1. Do you think it's worth money? I hear the average English ability of the participants is usually A1. I'll be using the subsidy but it'll still be more than 4000 dollars for two weeks.
I really wanted to go to Berlin or Amsterdam. I am only interest in Europe but I just don’t think I’m going to get enough help to go. I have decent grades but nothing that stands out, my parents make ok money but not enough to send me. I just don’t think I will be able to go and even have fun cause if I some how made the deadline I’d just be living broke. It sucks how you have to be either genius and stand out for scholarships, be rich where your family can send it, or so poor you get enough assistance. I’m just average and I can’t image it happening
Hi :) Reading your comment really felt familiar haha Ive been having the same thoughts (money wise). I always knew I wanted to study abroad and started thinking about it seriously after high school. Problem was, most of the programs seem expensive, hard to get in and honestly kind of sketchy (i.e. going abroad through some local company or service). I’ve been looking into some options but it seems off. So eventually I decided to study in my home country and said to myself that if that’s the case then I have to do an exchange program even if it’s for a semester. The great thing is that I don’t pay to the foreign university- I just keep paying regularly to my (public) home university. And even now, as Im in the process of applying, I’m having doubts regarding the living costs and flight costs. But then that’s my dream and there may never be a second chance like that. There’s always scholarships based on economic needs and as long as you have a family that support you and want you to succeed and grow, they’ll do everything they can. You are smart enough and capable enough and have everything you need. You just have to commit fully to the idea. Wishing the very best to you :)
I feel so encouraged by you! Thanks for this video! Would you recommend me going for 3-4 months or a full year? (i'm 14) I'm usually an indecisive person and I'm not sure of what I really want!
Please tell me the thumbnail and title was intentional because “studying abroad” looks like “study a-board” and that I’m not thinking too much into this 😭
Hi, I need advice on whether I should study abroad. I’m not that big into travel but I have been considering study abroad for a while now but my only motivation is to have a cool experience. My life has been pretty dull for several years now and I want to have some sort of life changing experience. I don't have much interest in any specific European countries - I don't really know where I want to go so I think I would go to London like you because no language barrier. Do you think I should go if I can afford? I am a guy and more of an introvert as well, would it still be enjoyable for me? Also, how did you figure out where you wanted to go for weekend trips (and how did you plan them)? I don't know Europe very well so I wouldn't know where to go.

take your IELTS test!!! usually most unis in London require this test so its best if you have done it!
Are we just not going to talk about the massive shiny wedding band on Ray's finger??!! 🤯
