This feels like a Southern US school thing, clothing-wise. I grew up in a college town in the south, and u are so right in that case -- leggings were the vibe, BUT I go to college in New York now, and literally no one goes to class in leggings or sweats. Everyone dresses up and looks amazing... so I think it's definitely a regional thing here in the U.S. If you go to a more northern or northwestern or liberal arts college, I think "dressing up" for class is very common.
Also, hate that this is my first comment on your videos because I love them, and I really appreciate them -- sorry if that doesn't come across in my above comment, LOL
I’m Scottish and I’m laughing so hard at the docs comment 😂😂😂 because it’s so true! we love them as both a stylistic/ aesthetic choice but also a practical one!
Oh my goodness Katie! I’m so glad I found your channel. I am studying abroad for 2 years and I was literally packing 13 pairs of shoes! No joke. After seeing your video It made me re think on the amount 😂 I think it’s good to always bring a fancy nice dress. You never know when you will be invited to a wedding or the opera etc.. Btw Im going to France. Thanks for your tips girl
Canadian here, it is very mixed here I'd say half of us wear athleisure the other half of us fully dress up. Also one day I might be fully done up and the next day I'm sweats and a hoodie
when i was an exchange student in the us, one of the most culture shock thing for me as a Thai student is that people wear so much leggings. 😂 and i literally has 1 pair of legging i brought for workout. i be wearing jeans and sweaters or sometimes even a shirt to class and everyone be wearing their victoria secret or hollister tee and a thin black leggings like what. hahahah.
great video!! i'll be going soon to japan for 6 months and i'm excited but quite nervous D: you mentioning to leave pretty shoes at home has made me reconsider, and knowing that doc martens are great for the rain makes me happy, but i'm still breaking them in haha, thank you for the video and the tips! 💫
Woow, this is so cool! None of the people I know wear atleisure (is that how it is written?) when going out :D We wear leggings at home or in the gym or a yoga class, that's it, so it is so funny for me to hear this from the other "side" (the queen thing was very funny :D ). Who would have thought wearing a pants and a sweater for a class is considered "dressing up" nowadays :D thanks for the video :)
Yes in Canada (well, Toronto, which is just 1 city in Canada) we do athleisure and we too have to remind ourselves that when we go to Europe, we shan't wear leggings
I bring 3 shoes (i wore 1 during the flight) and 2 sandals😅 for one year plan Chucktaylor classic, loafer, nike GPS, birken plastic, birken boston I thought i bring too many!!

Most of the tips in this videos are useful for whole Europe. The totes or dressing up, is really socially important here. A tip for Americans xoxo
