  • In this video I take a look at some of the techniques that I have used effectively over the years to allow me to get close to hares. I will lead you through some of the field-craft needed to get close to these wonderful creatures and share some of the images i have taken over the years. This video was extremely challenging not only due to the current lock-down situation but also the severe flooding that has affected my local area.

Glad you enjoyed it Matthew, hopefully more wildlife if and when lock-down allows!

Great video Scott and good instruction. Beautiful pics mate. I’ve tried photographing hares here but I’ll have to use your techniques for better results 👍🙏

Thanks Adrian, it really was a struggle getting this one together with the lock-down in place and the flooding we had earlier this year. Thanks for watching mate!👍

Cheers Paul! Its amazing what you can find close to home. My local area has had the wildlife devastated by flooding but its interesting to watch animals gradually move back in!👍

Great video Scott, appreciate the tips as I have been trying to locate an area close to home to photograph hares. Much harder than it looks, but good fun just being out and catching a glimpse. Definitely need to invest in some binoculars. 👍🏻

Glad it was helpful! If it's any consolation the hares are being a little more difficult than usual around here this year. 👍

Nice to see the hat off Scott - must be warming up. When do the hares start pairing up. I’ve only seen singles so far.

Hi Karen, this year is very odd. Hares will start chasing around any time a female is in season. Like you I am only seeing singles at the minute. I spent four days trying to get new images of a particular individual on my walks but he was incredibly skittish. I suspect they are also practising social distancing this year!😂 Thanks for watching!👍

Great advice on Hare photography will try and put some of this in practice lockdown permitting. If not hopefully it will just be "Hare today gone tomorrow"and will get out soon.

Glad it was helpful! Hope you have some luck with it which always helps. As I say the flooding has really cut numbers here but hopefully they'll recover👍 Thanks for watching!
