Queen Elizabeth II. Just the name alone symbolises duty, constancy, and stability. As the longest reigning monarch in British history, it often felt like Queen Elizabeth II would be a part of our lives forever.
Her Majesty’s peaceful passing on 8th September 2022 closed the great Elizabethan age and opened the door to a new era of the monarchy. Her death sent shock waves of emotion across Britain. And yet, the late Queen remains an immortal figure in our hearts, memories, and imagination.
In true British tradition, the nation said goodbye to its beloved Queen.

I lost my grandmother February 2022 and I was devastated, but I found comfort in the Queen. Not only did she share the same name as my grandmother, but she was always there in the time of turmoil. It was like I was losing my grandmother all over again.

I'm an American but I've always held Queen Elizabeth II in such high regards. She was incomparable but down to earth, & a woman everyone could look up to. I was heartbroken when I heard of her passing & kept up with what was happening over in England, I got up to watch her funeral service live in the states. But it brought me comfort that she could be with her dear Prince Phillip again, as well as her parents & sister.

Also I love history so this was a big historical moment. I also love the Royal family. When I saw the message from a news app I nearly fell out of my chair. I remember the day like it was yesterday

For so many of us Queen Elizabeth was the only monarch that we had ever known, her quiet dignity and devotion to the duty she swore to uphold as a 21 year old and which she adhered to until the very last day of her long, remarkable life an inspiration to us all. Which was why when she died it was so sad yet at the same time we gave thanks for so many years of service to us and drew comfort in the continuity of monarchy as she would have wished us to do as the crown as it had done for a thousand years passed to the next in line with the simple words God Save the King. But how we miss her.

I absolutely love Queen Elizabeth. She was smart, reserved, and kind. Her sense of loyalty to her people was unwavering. She really balanced the monarchy’s heavy burden with what seemed effortlessly. We don’t see this in the US. Our government is too worried about their petty differences than to actually run the country and do what’s needed for the American people. Too busy pointing fingers and getting their feelings hurt. It’s completely ridiculous.

Since Elizabeth II died, there has been much publicity, yet not much thought about why she matters, and why monarchy is helpful in general. Monarchy shouldn't be used as real-life soap opera, nor as mere material to fill space in the media.
The achievement of the British monarchy should become clear in comparison with the histories of other countries. In the 19th & 20th centuries the U.S.A, France, Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain and Greece suffered in various ways civil wars, political storms, and dictatorships. This shows what can go wrong in the absence of a head of state which is above politics, and which opposes revolution and illegal dictatorship. If there are many reasons England, Wales, and Scotland have had no civil war since Culloden in 1746, having a constitutional monarchy to unify all the people is an important reason. Slavery caused civil war in the U.S.A; in the UK, Canada & Australia it was peacefully abolished in 1833.
Of course King Charles III's first marriage was a tragic mistake; Prince Philip could be tactless; he & Elizabeth II made mistakes as parents. Whatever mistakes the royal family have made, let us be grateful for the unity the monarchy gives to the UK & the world. The sea around it didn't protect the U.S.A. against civil war in the 1860s, and the UK could have suffered civil war over slavery in the 19th century; likewise over world war, loss of empire, economic failure, or race in the 20th century. There will always be violence and political problems in the world, and billions of people who know or understand nothing of the British monarchy and the stability it brings Britain, the commonwealth (e.g. Canada & Australia). By stabilizing Britain & the commonwealth, it promotes peace in the world. Since the 1700s, billions of people have lived under the British crown without civil war, lynching, dictatorship in their lives. God save King Charles III, and his successors.

As , I tried to understand your take on the UK and the Royal Family, You Are Kidding Right? The British Only Stopped the Slave trade to keep the US from becoming a Super Power, The British Failed Miserable at that, Because the US is exactly that , They Cared Nothing for the Poor Souls put through Colonialism by them or the Slave trade by the US ,

I see you are incapable of looking things up on your own. If you had looked up things on your own, you would realise just how damaged Harry is from his own hands. He is a drug addict that wrote a book that was 70% made up and you're choosing to believe that so what does that say about you? He actually had to write a disclaimer for the book saying pretty much recollections may vary even in his own mind. He latched onto a known grifter who tried to emulated his late mother by wearing her perfume but hopped from bed to bed and thought she'd won the lottery because she thought he was worth a lot more money than he was.
I don't understand your behaviour. Are you being paid to post comments like this everywhere because you are EVERYWHERE.. and the saddest thing about this is you've supposedly have a 11-year-old daughter you're raising but you're on here 24/7. Would you like to list what these terrible things William did? And we need confirmation from someone besides the drug addict thank you.

I remember when Diana died, I was a little boy at the time, it was sad that a young women died in a horrific way, but was mass hysteria, and many people just went off the wall with crying and screaming. Now let’s not forget that there are two sides to this argument, the first would be that the queen had to be told to come to London, at first the Queen refused to fly the flag at half mast, because she simply hated Diana. The second argument is this, actually the queen was looking after you young boys who lost their mother and she was protecting them from the media.
I am if the option that the monarchy is outdated, and quite frankly not needed, and I cannot stand this mass hysteria and this pretentious mourning, the majority of people DID NOT KNOW THE QUEEN, so this weeping crying and this slang “She was a Constance and a reassurance gets on my nerves.
Now to be honest people are entitled to say what they like, I myself cannot stand the monarchy, I cannot stand this flag waving stupidity.
Let give my reasons, the crown and the commonwealth, is the embodiment of empire, the crown itself or full of gem stones taken from other countries, plundered. Empire equalled slavery and murder, the crown and the monarchy are the shape of the times.
I personally hate the record of the British Empire, it was a cruel terrible empire just like all the others, and so I think the crown the throne, and the Union Jack are all symbols of empire.
Anyone who celebrated the British empire is delusional, there were things that Queen did that were good, take for instance the Grenfell tower, the visit to Ireland we she put out the hand of peace. But keys not think for one minute that the Queen was this symbol of the UK, she was to me a symbol of England, snd England alone.
That’s my view I’m entitled to it, and that’s that, some may argue with it, but to be honest I don’t really care.
