Before removing the screws, you should make sure the bottom door is open, otherwise it gets stuck and it's not easy to re-adjust the bar at the bottom and fix it.
I did this by accident. I unraveled a wire hanger, clipped off the twirly bits (because I could) and it became unlatched easily. BUT it took a few days to figure that out. So, I might add that again, not as a reply and maybe in a less jumbled way

I remove the canister from the cyclone, remove the 3 screws ontop and then remove the top part. I then use an extended air gun on it and blow it all clean, reversing direction blowing in each individual cylone hole down inside snd blowing back up the screen like peice. Back and forth. I cant seperate the 2 cyclone halves even after removing the screws inside the cyclone, afraid of breaking it. Good enough for me. I also remove other parts and wand extension and blow threw them.
Nice to see it pulled apart, thanks... it looked like it was still damp inside I think I would of let it dried in pieces then put back together prior to using.
Noticed that too. One reason most vac guys never admit you can clean them with water is that everything should be 100% dry & tidy before reassembling. This looks so complicated. I just inherited one from my late mother-in-law. I am now wondering how she managed to clean it being an old lady full of arthritis. Not ideal at all.
I took my DC07 apart yesterday to clean it thoroughly. Putting it back together, everything seemed good, and I powered it on briefly, just a few seconds. Worked well. Today I turned it on, and nothing, no sound, no suction. Upon close inspection I realized I had twisted the brush belt when putting it all back together. I untwisted it and tried again. Still nothing. Any ideas? Am I screwed??
Hi There, if there is no sound at all then it is quite likely that there is no power getting to the motor, could be a cut in the cord, a blown fuse in the plug, the switch could be faulty, or one of the wires within the machine could have come off when you rebuilt it. The twisted belt brush should not stop the motor working, but it is a good indication of how skilled you are at rebuilding the machine. Take care! especially if you are working with electrics which will kill you!
@@bootsowen lol, yes i guess not to skilled!! It's the switch, I did an ohm reading on it and it read off in both positions. I opened it and one of the springs inside had become unseated - i reseated it and it works again!! Thanks KS for your response and the great video!
