The giant JOI hologram at the end of 2049 may have shared coding with K's JOI, but she wasn't K's JOI. We also share DNA with our human family. This doesn't mean we are all the same person.
I think you totally missed the point of the movie. Yes, JOI loved K. She is programmed to please K as much as she can. She is like an AI, K told her everything, so she could understand him better. What makes him sad, what makes him happy. When he's hurting, when he's tired. And most importantly, what she can do in such cases. She saw he was getting him ass kicked and the woman trying to finish him off. So she turned defensive and turned all attention away from him unto her. The giant hologram was just JOI at her factory settings. She is a pretty AI!
Why the fuck does TH-cam insist on ruining Ambient playlists with commercials? You could be trying to fall back to sleep. Almost get there, and they blast a commercial. Some even with Rock music!
