I was born in '82 and although it was the first 8 years of my life,..it's sometimes difficult to relate strongly with the decade. The 90s was the decade that I came into my own. 3rd grade all the way to Freshman year of college. The 80s impact is most probably on a subconscious level and will impact me from early childhood forever.
Gonna be the ancient one here: born in 1960, the 80's were so wide open alive, music could be chill & not frantic and so could we.....it was the best time to be young & fearless. Thx for your mix--it's like a shot of Everclear to my soul 💙
That's great to hear! Happy the music brings back some good ole memories. It's the aim of the channel 😃 Thanks for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it!
I'm often reminded of this quote from the movie Strange Days. "Wanna know how I know it's the end of the world? Because nothing is new, we've already done everything." What we need is a new frontier of some kind.
Pre-ancient then. Born 1957. LOL. I remember when we all thought the synthesizer music was so cool. It was a new thing. Still cool when done right. We are lucky to have experienced so many decades and genres of music first hand.
Hey Bluesioux I was born in July 61. I spent the 80s from 19-29yrs old spent ENTIRE 80s while in Army. What a great time for our music. I like the fact that 60s and 70s music was still popular also. ANY TIME I hear 80s music I get nostalgic and want to go back if only for the music. GREAT BANDS GREAT MUSIC AND LIFE DIDNT SEEM TO BE FALLING APART, the sky was the limit. I would go back in a minute if I could. Your not the only ancient that misses that time period. MAN HOW I MISS THE 80s
80's music is absolutely timeless! The unique blend of synths, unforgettable melodies, and infectious beats makes it stand out as one of the greatest musical eras. Every song has a distinctive energy that still resonates today, capturing the essence of fun, emotion, and pure creativity. 🎶✨
Rad tunes man! Born in '80 so my childhood rocked. BMX with the boys, pinecone fights in woods, going to the mall, action movies and amazing music. Still have my Dukes of Hazard lunchbox and the thermos still smells like Spaghettios. No-one had a stupid cell phone and you looked up information in books like a real person. Gas was 97 cents and obesity wasn't a 'disease' yet. Damn....now I'm sad.
Born in mid-70s. Glad I was able to hear this genre in its infancy and its expansion toward the mainstream. Current synth technology does the old sounds right.
I was born in 1968 and I can tell you "what was good about this music at that time" and still hear it today makes me extremely happy. When I saw the movie "drive" and also the credits of Stranger Things, I had this little smile. Thank you for these sounds -I love the first track.
@@robertdaone Hi, Yes, yes it was. It Was a lot quieter, over here in the UK that is. Men & women seemed to be better looking ( the women especially). No political correctness, no woke. Seemed as well that different ethnic groups got on better in the 80's, because it came from the heart, whereas now being "racist" is a criminal act ( although racism is evil) but still! Even though the 80's like any other decade wasn't perfect, everything was done from the ❤️ back then,
@@robertdaoneyou know I use to love ( well I can say that now) walking down certain streets in my home town over here, but not now! Not that they're dangerous or anything, but they sparkled in the 80's when we were teenagers. In fact believe it or not the Streets were more dangerous in the 80's, but it was a different kind of danger, as you only got a right royal kicking, whethers now, you can get stabbed or killed, but getting a kicking was way more frequent than the latter ( hard to explain, I know, but one had to have been there to know why?) Me thinks it had, & has to do with CCTV. There wasn't much in the way of materialism, and money. Was at a happy medium. Anyway that's my bit on the 80's.
80's was magic and I agree. Only thing to worry about back then was a cold war but there was allot of peace everywhere except Africa. Now everything is falling apart.
84, 85, 86 were simply peak happiness for me… born in 73… films and music were awesome. My kids love all the music and films too… still loving it today😅
Born in 1978, a child of the 80's, a rebel (teen years) in the 90's. As I remember most of the 90's on a more conscious level, it is the 80's that has made an impact to me. Whenever I hear 80's music, it automatically takes me back into a "non-specific memory" but more of like a "feeling" of bitter-sweet childhood emotions where everything was pure, simple and happy. 80's will always be the best, where everyone was awesome and cool. 80's will always have an unbreakable bond in my heart until my dying days. Music like these, it's transcendental. You're a genius man! Thanks for this.
I reported for Basic Training and AIT at Fort Benning, Georgia on June 6 1980. That was the decade that decided we had missed an entire 2 cycles of development in arms and armor, and damn didn't they give us the best - the M1 Abrams, Kevlar Helmets and body armor, the M16A2 rifle, the M204 SAW, the Bradley AFV...all to the score of DEVO, Flock of Seagulls, Nena (99 Luftbalons) Prince, Blondie, Sugar Hill Gang...cyberpunk before it was cyberpunk. Loved it.
I think the 80's will be marked down in history as the best or golden years of humans existence, I'm so glad I was part of it. The years may keep on climbing but the 80's music will keep on playing till time it self doesn't exist, this is eternity.
Born in 1971 (January) and teenager in the great 80s. Oh Lord, I confirm that we'd really need to go back to that era ! It was full of creativity, and we had so much freedom (of thoughts and speech) compared to nowadays. We had just enough technologies to make our days easier, but not enough to enslave us. Life was not perfect of course, but it was more rad, "chillier", and somewhat brighter, like subdued light of coloured neons. 🌆
Born 73' The 80's rocked! so glad I made that generation. We were taught to be self-sufficient. Some of us were neglected, but not un-loved... just left to ourselves, (which I actually loved); so many good times and memories. Music was a HUGE part of our lives, probably because it wasn't instant, at least not until CD's. All the tapes I owned had been bought at least 2X minimum. Soundtracks were a big deal back then, this playlist is a memory pill of sorts, thanks for sharing! When my kids hear me talk about high school, they just can't relate, at all. They don't get that talking, storytelling and hanging out was the norm. Most kids have a hard time communicating, but they can all text. I'm so thankful youtube and cell-phones were not around back then, even though I use each a lot today.
I'm just glad I realized in the 80's that it was a special decade while it was happening. I'm genuinely sad for people who didn't get to live during that time.
80's was my best time of life. I am so glad I managed to live that at that age. I miss my pals, my cars, my girls, those endless summers, night clubs, music, fashion, you name it.
Even though I was born in 1989, I still feel like I have some sort of spiritual connection with this magical decade. I'm just so drawn to every good thing that the 80's had despite not really getting to experience said decade physically. Thank you for putting this out.
Well, the general feeling of the 80s bled well into the 90s. They were both distinct, but the spirit was similar. Stark contrast between them and the 2000s-present. You're the same age as my little brother, and he's through and through an 80s/90s kid.
Was 4 to 13 I miss those days. 90's were good but it wasn't the 80's. You were at the perfect age for the 80's. Would have loved to spend my high school years at the end of the 80's but those were the early to mid 90's for me.
Born in 1984 and have such a strong connection to this music. Thank you so much for putting this together. I simply cannot stop listening to it! And the artwork...Its hypnotic.
And remember kids, to listen to these kinds of mixes with headphones that have a headband worn over the head, with each phone on / over the ears. Best sound and experience ever ❤.
Ah the 80s when you came home from school, got changed and went straight back again. Nobody knew where we were and we always went back home when we were hungry.
Yeah, no mobile phones, no social media. When you had real actual physical friends you hung around with all the time round someone's house. - and yeah the irony that we're listening to this via social media is not lost. Back in the day I'd have simply given you a tape to copy ;-)

Track 7 is one of the most heavenly, reflective and resonating tunes I have ever heard. What a wonderful creation. Thankyou!. Born 1985, but wishing I was born 1965 to have heard all 80s music live at the time!
The 1980's wasn't just a decade. It's a state of mind, a different level of consciousness that anyone can achieve regardless of when they were born. You just have to understand the art- the music, movies, clothing, etc. And see where it came from and why.
You took the words right from my soul. Was in my 20's then. And yes. There was a vibe, a zeitgeist the like which I have never experienced before or ever since.
Track 6 is magical. It takes me back to some better times. The art work on this vid is beyond words incredible. It reminds me of an arcade I use to go to back in the golden age. The girl pictured I feel I know somehow. Thanx for all of this!!

With its nostalgic allure, it effortlessly transports you back to the vibrant and colorful 80s, filling your heart with a sense of pride and joy. late 70s-80s- where sound technology, ideas & imagination came together for the greatest period of music & sound in history, including film scores. And it all coincided with the advent of video games & the technological leaps in that field. Very exciting time & I'm glad I was able to live thru much of it

This sound and this image define the difference between growing up in the 80’s and being born in the 80’s. A lot of us born in the 80’s lay a massive claim on the decade instead of admitting that we grew up in the 90’s and 2000’s when things stopped being so simple. Really wish I had been a teen in the 80’s instead.

This is the perfect vibe I was looking for. I've recently gone back to school to learn coding. To me just studying has been making me nostalgic but I'm also learning new things. These tunes are like that; nostalgic but fresh. Very nice.
Engage Galactic Drive! :) Thx for being on the tube. I was born in 1977. So, I was 10 when Joshua Tree by U2 was released. I was 19 when Independence Day the movie was released. I am just old enough to have wished when I was 10 to have been born 10 years earlier. The 80's was an amazing decade. The 90's formed most of my brain, I think. The 90's was a bit darker than the 80's. I was a child growing up in suburban paradise in the 80's. In the 90's I was a teenager that dropped out of high school and dived into hacking, street culture, drugs and easy illegal money. I was living on my own at 16. - That would have been 1993. I was playing stuff like this mix everywhere I went on my cassette tape player or CD player. I liked cassettes better because they didn't skip while I was skateboarding. lol - The people that remember how it was know. ;)

The 90s was the decade that I came into my own. 3rd grade all the way to Freshman year of college. The 80s impact is most probably on a subconscious level and will impact me from early childhood forever.
I'm getting so many comments similar to yours! It's amazing that a decade played such a huge role in so many people's lives 😃
Me too! 🤗🙌
Ok
Me too 😊
i see it absolutely the same way
Gonna be the ancient one here: born in 1960, the 80's were so wide open alive, music could be chill & not frantic and so could we.....it was the best time to be young & fearless.
I'm 9 years behind you but absolutely concur with your sentiment.

Thanks mate! Happy you’re digging em’! More to come for you soon! Check out my barbie and ken video in the mean time. I think you’ll enjoy the tracks😃

I miss the 1980s.
It was definitely a special decade.
I was born in 1996 but I could swear my soul lived in the 80s.
Born in 1983. I remember enough of the 80s to know it was a great time. The 90s was dope too
@@robertdaone Hi,
Yes, yes it was.
Born in 1995 but I miss the 80s as well,a great decade.
Lol
Hopefully the music gives you those 80 vibes!
@GalacticDrive yes it does!like a time machine!❤

This is absolutely beautiful. Not over the top, just pure, relaxing synthwave that takes you back to the 80s
Hey I appreciate that!😃 happy you’re enjoying the tunes😊
I was born in 1980, so this is one hundred percent my decade. This has me feeling so nostalgic!
80s might be best decade in human history
Of course it is! I was born in the 80ies ;-)
80's was magic and I agree. Only thing to worry about back then was a cold war but there was allot of peace everywhere except Africa. Now everything is falling apart.
Goddamn right.
'I'll buy that For A dollar'
strong argument for
84, 85, 86 were simply peak happiness for me… born in 73… films and music were awesome.
Loved it.
Happy it takes you back! And thanks for the support and motivation! I've got a new video coming out in a few days, hope you'll like it!😃
@@GalacticDrive will wait for it 😊❤️ thanks! This is a time machine you got here. More power to you!
100%!!!!
Well said!😃
I'm just glad I realized in the 80's that it was a special decade while it was happening. I'm genuinely sad for people who didn't get to live during that time.
Im born in 1981, 80´s The best decade, best music, incomparables escences, the best rememberances!!
80's was my best time of life. I am so glad I managed to live that at that age. I miss my pals, my cars, my girls, those endless summers, night clubs, music, fashion, you name it.
Different from today hey!
Damn man, I’d give anything to relive the 80s. Age 7 to 17. What a blast.
Couldn't agree more man!

Haha love it!!
Ah the 80s when you came home from school, got changed and went straight back again. Nobody knew where we were and we always went back home when we were hungry.
Yeah, no mobile phones, no social media. When you had real actual physical friends you hung around with all the time round someone's house.

Born 75 here. Experienced a lot of extreme highs and lows during the 80’s and 90’s. The rest of the succeeding decades became kinda flat.
My cousin shared this video to me telling me he found a picture that looks just like me in my teenage years.

I liked cassettes better because they didn't skip while I was skateboarding. lol - The people that remember how it was know. ;)
This was the first 80's synthwave song I ever heard on TH-cam, and I'm glad it was. It's still my favorite!
It's awesome dude - welcome to the collective! May I recommend Gunship, The Midnight, Kavinsky, Peturbator.
