The search for Michael Vaughan: 115 days later, no sign of missing Fruitland boy

- Fruitland's police chief said Thursday that several once-promising tips "just don't go anywhere." 5-year-old Michael has been missing since July 27.
As a retired policeman of 31 years, this is one of the most heartbreaking stories. All child abductions are heartbreaking but this one especially. On my first day of radiation treatment at St Luke's Cancer Institute in Fruitland, for Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma, I could see the helicopter and police volunteers scouring the big fields behind the hospital and the trees and shrubs. They were slow and thorough. I was hoping and praying for the police/community volunteers to find him that day and send him home. My condition has worsened and now I am in hospice. Each day I pray for Michael's safe return but my experience tells me not to be too hopeful. Prayer and hope is all I have left for Michael Vaughn and myself. Seeing Michael's mother on the news with Chief Duff and the pain is having brought me to tears. You can't be a cop or other first responder involved in this case and not suffer from some level of PTSD. I salute the Fruitland police and the community as a whole for opening their hearts to this family who is suffering so terribly...

I wouldn’t be able to go on live TV if my child was missing. I would be too hysterical and likely heavily sedated….with non-stop fits of crying. No way would I be in any sane condition to go on live TV.

This little Monkey needs help. I've asked Jen from Red White and Bethune, the family who filmed footage of Gabby's van, to include him on their missing person profile that they do at the end of each video. Jen told me last night that she will feature him soon.
I pray for these s sweetie and his family, I watched a cell phone video of Mikey's mom making cookies with him, she was so loving gentle and patient with him, very nurturing. Its heartbreaking that instead of passing along information to help, so many comments I'm reading are only passing judgment.
I only recently heard about this case which is crazy. I know that YOU are on many of the same channels that I am and we can see he is not getting coverage. Its sad.
Every child should be searched for not just the ones with controversial parents!

We all have our own way of dealing with grief and stress. I thought her speaking was odd. I would hysterical crying…I doubt that I would even be able to speak to people on live TV…..i would be a basket case . Until they find evidence of wrongdoing by the parents….I’ll reserve judgment.

I think the dad has lawyered up and that's why he's not involved In ANYTHING to do with his son. Mom knows what happened here or has suspicions at the very least. The older children will eventually talk just like in the William Tyrrell case. Dad's beard was fully sculpted for the 1st press conference which is weird. He was faking like he was shaking, it was so obvious. It's just disgusting how parents are getting away with this stuff.
We don’t have any solid evidence yet to prove that either parent or the babysitter did anything to hurt or hide Michael. I’m also alerted by the parents’ first public appearance but I’m waiting for hard evidence. BTW - I did hear or read somewhere at the beginning of the search that the “dad” was NOT Michael’s bio dad. That will alter my views of the disappearance.
Another viewer has claimed she knows the mom and that the dad/stepdad-which ever he is-is now MIA. This is the first video I’ve seen of the parent/parents speaking out. I’m sorry that there isn’t better news about Michael; however, this little boy stays on my mind.

Lie detector tests aren't very accurate. It's more like an anxiety meter. So a completely remorseless person could pass one easily while an innocent person whose extremely nervous might fail

Sad to say. But he's dead. The family is involved and holding out hope when everyone knows that the most crucial moments in finding missing children is the first 48 hours. Without an amber alert being issued. He's gone. It sounds cruel. But the truth is hard. Most we can pray for is that he rests in peace.
No tears, not one. She seemed scared. And they only did this because the reward they themselves put up from donations, was retracted. They need to find out why the babysitter of Michael was posting that the "family" needed a full size punching bag donated RIGHT AFTER Michael turned up missing. The babysitter also laid new concrete in her back yard at the same time. Where is the father? Why were thy pit partying the weekend after he was missing. Why are they buying a house with said donations? The donations are to find Michael NOT to buy a home. This case is disgusting. Why the landfill wasn't searched or the babysisters concrete hasn't been pulled up, is beyond me. This baby isn't in the area he was missing. No birds found him, the crops have been cut down, canals have been drained everything. Crazy that landfill and babysitters concrete haven't been checked at the time this was all happening live on Facebook. The babysitter went ham for donations not even 24hrs after this angel was missing, then started about the full size punching bag, she said that the father's "some how got lost or thrown away" I know social media is not the best place to get info. However I also know some one took it upon themselves to set up a go fund me before the fbi ever came in, started asking for some strange things. I'm sire she has been interviewed, but something is off.

I'm pretty sure I got kicked off that page after that comment. Some pll, well a good chunk of ppl agreed with me. Some ppl said, maybe the dad needed it to relieve stress. Also there was a wonderful psychic lady that did a reading on him the other week, she said she won't do it on him ever again. She's not from here, and idk if you are either, but we don't have swamps here. But I'm trying to think of something that would look like that. She also said by a hotel and railroad tracks. I can only think of one place like that just one. But that's right off the free way and surely the birds at least would have found him by know? Poor angel baby 👼 I DO NOT know these ppl at all. This case is so sad, it effects my home, we even searched our land and we live 6 miles away. Still pray for him every day that someone finds him and that they charge the RIGHT ppl. So, yes gossip is one thing, and dumping your mud in the middle of the street for everyone to see, is 2 complete different scenarios sir/ma'am. When you watched this video, did you see even one tear? Did you happen to ask yourself, "where is the father, or ANY family support"? I know I did. I also know hoe I was and the things I did and behaved when my son came up missing. There's a lot more to take into consideration other than gossip sir/ma'am.

Well I don't wanna judge but this is either taking a toll on her or she has a drug addiction causing her to loose weight since previous interviews. I'd say the second conclusion. I would assume both mom and dad were using and either owed a debt to someone(and that person abducted Micheal) or dad was nodding out from drug usage and something happened to micheal then and its now trying to be covered up. Sad overall ... I hope Micheal is found 🙏
