If someone is watching this in 2018 and still wants to change the sword, check out the Svarty's Configurable Greatsword mod - it let's you essentially recreate a greatsword with the same stats as the Axe of the Dragon Hunter and you can choose the skin as well, replacing the Balanced Greatsword schematics from Black Emporium ;-) Just FYI.
@@RayYM_XXX No problem man, I was too noobish to try it your way so I checked out nexus mods to see if someone did all the work for me. Currently I'm following your footsteps and soloing the DLC with my champion. Surprisingly, most problems I had was with one Fade Rift that spawned all those despair demons who kept shooting me. Incredibly annoying and not so easy to do since champion excells when enemies are tightly grouped but as soon as you start getting lots of damage from ranged that are spread out, it's becoming a problem. Chain+Boot ftw :D
@@Lathlaer I think I know which rift you are talking about, I actually had a video about that fight, please check here: www.bilibili.com/video/av6055935/ Please notice WF and Aegis could help a lot, but the most important thing is to try as much as possible to keep all enemies in front of you so Turn The Bolt can be activated. Hope that would help~
@@RayYM_XXX It does help, your video of that fight is incredibly clean. There is a second rift similar to that one as well and in both cases I just equipped frost resistance potion, it helped a lot but I realize I could've positioned myself much better in those fights. The potion covered some of my mistakes there but it was still very satisfying.
IM Ray Video was very helpful! I see other uploads on bilibili, but unfortunately I cannot watch them in my region. Is there a way to view them? Or upload links! Thanks!
@Kronus9 TH-cam is giving me troubles I can't see your comments directly, I can only read them from my notification so I reply in here; For your question: yes, the master-craft materiel are hidden blades and walking bomb : P
I use Refined Battlemaster Coat + Vanguard Coat Arm+ Battlemaster Coat Leg (for more magic defense slots), but I use CE to modify the appearance of the arm and leg to Battlemaster Coat Arm + Battlemaster Mail Leg
Not sure if you still respond to comments but what is that green force field skill that you use after you taunt? I'll be making a warrior on my next play through but I can't find that skill in any of my warrior companions skill trees
still sticking around haha....anyway the skill is "Aegis of the Rift ", you can only get it by going to JOH DLC. You can also see it here for the reference: dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Aegis_of_the_Rift
oh by the way, Aegis of the Rift is good but not really that crucial in this build. The real core is "To the Death" which gives you basically infinite guard. AoR is handy in some DLC fights, but in the main story, you definitely can solo without it
Hi man, I've set up CE and I found a 1.10 cheat table but I would really appreciate a quick tutorial on how to change weapon appearances if you wouldn't mind. I'm basically using CE for this "transmog" function. I've played around a little and couldn't manage. I succeeded in changing my equipped weapon to another crafted weapon in cheat engine but the only thing that happened in game was both weapons disappeared from my inventory once I changed zone. And for example, if I want to change my crafted bow's appearance to the Longbow of the Griffon, do I need that bow in my inventory? Thanks!
Ok, i am not really that good with CE but I try my best to explain. try this step by step: 1. back up your save (important) 2. open DAI, find a store first. 3. use Tab+Alt jumps out, start CE, load table, select DAI to open editing. then click "inventory item editor" 4. go back to the game, sell your crafted bow then buy it back-- it is for CE to address and locate this bow. 5. if everything goes well under the "inventory item editor", you should be able to see the line "item type", and its "value" should show this bow's code (something like "DA3/Equipment/Crafting/EquipTemplates/Weapons/Rogue/Bows/equip_template_bow_t3_3" or similar) 6. change the value to the weapon's code you want, in this case, Longbow of the Griffon, so change the value from DA3/Equipment/Crafting/EquipTemplates/Weapons/Rogue/Bows/equip_template_bow_t3_3 to DA3/Equipment/Items/Weapons/Rogue/Bows/equip_bow_t3_3_unique 7. just in case, click the line "advanced" also under inventory item editor, check "item base"->"name", in there it should also automatically change to DA3/Equipment/Items/Weapons/Rogue/Bows/equip_bow_t3_3_unique, if not, manually change it. 8. keep the CE as it is, go back to game, save a new game. wait for maybe 5 sec, then close CE. 9. Load this new save. your crafted bow should become Longbow of the Griffon now. however, although the stats of this bow should keep as the same as the original crafted bow, but the special effect of Griffon Longbow will automatically apply to it. means it will shoot 3 arrows per shot. You can also see: th-cam.com/video/ZPTt-cvLRd4/w-d-xo.html , I believe that video has a very detail and complete explanation for using CE to modify DAI. Hope it helps!
Thanks so much! That was a perfect tutorial, it worked for the bow. I had already watched the video you linked, it's what got me set up for CE. However, there is an unwanted side effect which is that the change gave me the Griffon's bow special ability but removed my upgrade slots. If that's normal I guess I'll have to choose between stats and style. Also, when I tried to change my dragon hunter axe to a greatsword like you have done it makes my weapon disappear from my inventory. How did you manage to change the weapon's type without incident?
I've done some testing and figured it out! You can only modify a weapon to a non-crafted one (drop/unique). Every time I try and achieve the appearance of a schematic weapon it makes the weapon disappear from my inventory. Luckily there is a great choice of drops and uniques to use as appearances. Also for point 8), it doesn't seem necessary to close CE. One final thing before I stop harassing you. :P Would you by any chance have the item IDs for DLC items? I can't find them anywhere and CE forums have been nuked it seems. Thank you very much for taking the time to respond and help me out. :)
Great to help! Actually I think there is another alternative way to modify the crafted weapon's stats to the the one you want. for example in my case I want my weapon look like a crafted great sword but with the stats with Axe of Draon Hunter, so I just modify the crafted great sword' stats directly. maybe this won't apply to your situation, but just for a reference. As for the DLC items ID, I think this is what you need: fextralife.com/forums/p4387433/new-armor-in-the-game/ Enjoy!
That's brilliant! Exactly what I was looking for, great list. What you suggest actually sounds even better, just modifying the weapon's stats to get what you would have with a fully equipped Dragon Hunter Axe instead of changing the weapon itself. I really want a Greatsword like Edgewise for my Templar but it has no upgrade slots and shit stats. If I can just modify that then I'll be delighted. I'll look into changing a weapon's stats. Thanks again!
Hey. I've been trying to make a decent champion build, but I can't get my skills and combos right. What I'm going for is alot like how this one is set up. Can you suggest a skill setup?
sorry for the late reply. please check here: th-cam.com/video/_5X2bOz64Q8/w-d-xo.html in that video comments section I have a detail build guide. Except one thing, you should use belt of urgency, which is even better than the +200HP belt.
you can use crafted Axe of Dragon Hunter, schematic can be bought from the black emporium. it can be upgraded, so you can have massive crit (I use it too but just modify its appearance to a greatsword )
What mod do you use to modify weapon skins? I've done a google search but can't find anything. I don't use mods but if there was one I would defo use it would be that one. So many unique weapons with lovely skins just become vendor crap and it's such a waste.
I use Cheat Engine to do it. CE itself is easy to find I believe; But you will also need a table 1.10(kind of a script for DAI) to run it. Since DAI is almost 3 year ago it might be hard to find one. I think I have it but I am very sure and I am not in home right now. If you can't find it on internet, tell me and I can try to pass to you.
I think i'm going to use a two-hands warrior after this.
that was fucking magnificent
thanks!!!

yeah cause the chromatic great sword is good but I can't get that much crit from it
