As an american born samoan who has close family in both Brisbane(Queensland) and Sydney(NSW) I'm loving these documentaries that depicts the realism in class, tension and hate in this battle.. It's amazing.. Loving every bit of it..

As an English Man who watches our Super League, I have ALWAYS followed State of Origin since I was a kid (about 5yrs old), I am 39 now and coming from Hull and supporting Hull. F.C I know Passion when I see it...............................This has HEAPS of passion, rivalry and controversy.......................no wonder its called "THE GREATEST GAME OF ALL"!!!

Danmarsky....Another Beaut piece of work mate!!
The things I think that spoil the modern game are as follows. - 70% of the time a try is scored, the refs sends it upstairs for the entire lead up play to be nitpicked , which can sometimes stop the game for up to 5 minutes, and still get it wrong sometimes. - I reckon that technology will one day soon allow them to check for forward passes, which will make it worse. The concept of rugby league was to make an exciting, fast flowing game; SO WHY!? - The amount of times that players lose control of the ball while scoring a try is ridiculous. When I started as a junior in the 70's in the under 8's, we were drilled to hold the ball like our lives depended on it so by the time I was 12, it was rare to see a player dropping it due to an unforced error, especially over the try line. We trained and played with a leather ball and when it rained, it was like playing with a large piece of wet soap and the players handled it very well. When I stopped playing, the leather ball was still being used so I don't know what the current ball is like but I think they should change it because these players are too skilled to be dropping it as much as they do. Watch the
Danmarsky film on the 1987 State Of Origin series and you'll see what I am talking about, especially in the game at the S.C.G.
I'm only saying this because I love the game of Rugby League. . . . Kind Regards. . . . Johno.

I 100% agree with you mate. You're spot on about the video referee. It has ruined the spontaneity and emotion that the players and crowd feel when a big moment in a match has occurred.
Mate, I can tell you the synthetic grip balls they use now are so much easier to use than the old leather balls. The 2nd game of the 87 Origin series highlights how much we used to emphasise holding on to the pill. Great comment champion

Theres a lot of hands over the ball, its not so much spilling it as it is hands covering, ripping etc whether to slow the play the ball or in the tackle itself. Its been adressed many times over the years by not letting rip the ball out and faster play the balls but it still goes on. Id add the lying on the tackler by the third man in, it slows it even more but I guess it's got so fast over the decades they ignore it as it allows a respite

dunno how you can do a documentary on the 2015 series when you don't cover the stitch up that 60 minutes did on Cameron Smith the Sunday before the decider. Utter garbage and indicative of the way Channel 9 treats the game.

An absolute hatchet job. I knew the media were a bunch of galas but I didn't know how much until I saw that bit. Mate, they absolutely changed the entire context of what happened and turned it into some bullshit money headline grabbing ep. What a disgrace for all journalist out there. 60 mins is suppose to be the flagship for journalism! That hurt every Queenslander deep, the way they were so willing to defame someone so blatantly. I still can't believe journalist still can get away with shoddy work like that and not have any consequences or repercussions at all. They can bloody wrote whatever they want and get away clean.
