Hey man i kmow this is a older video, but i thought id tell u out experience there today. We live in the area amd try to follow the generation schedule for wilbur. We was exactly where you was at the 7:00 mark in ur video fishing at the dam. We looked over and over at the schedule and they was not supposed to be generating at all today. We was there fishing where you was and the sirens went off so of course got scared and high tailed it back to the ramp/land. We hadnt much more got to the land and they opened up 3 spill ways, mainly the one right in front of where we (and you) was fishing. Thank Jesus he got us out of there in time. We eas very shaken and scared . Other people was coming in to fish and was confused by the water release because they looked at their website/app also like we did. So i thought of this videos (cause we wanted to try to get to that spot you was at, its a great little hole) but thank the good Lord we was able to get out, even if barley. So just be careful man. Me and my aon watch or videos a lot and been tring some of your spots. Maybe we could hook up sometime never know. Just wanted to inform ya sir. Keep talking about Jesus in your videos also, its rare.

Glad y'all got out of there in time .yes that has happened to me before. It does say Water release schedules can change without notice due to unanticipated weather changes or power system requirements. Which is not really safe for fisherman close to dam .I appreciate the heads up . Good looking out. Thanks bud God Bless

Love it. I live in ohio. I was down there last Sunday and fished the same exact spot. We caught a bunch as well. You are so lucky to have such a beautiful place to fish. Next time you go to brummits, will you give them a big thank you for having a self serve when they are closed. It saved the day. Thank you from the Buckey state.

I've learned a lot from you about fishing the Watauga and the Doe. I appreciate how open you are about where and how you fish. I live in Raleigh and fish in your homewater a few times a year. They are a wonderful pair of rivers. Larry

What a beautiful spot! I'd use that ¹/¹⁶oz grey minnow Roostertail or a Bobby Garland Slab Hunt'R Finesse Baitfish or Bait Swim'R Shad on a ⅛oz homemade weedless jighead. LIGHTEN UP! Go ULTRALIGHT; 4lb line and a loop knot for more minnow action. And stop reeling against your dang drag!!! I envy your ability to walk. Never take it for granted.
