Surprised that Odd hasn't heard of a stoat before, they're basically a type of weasel. According to Wikipedia, unless he lives in southern Saskatchewan or Alberta there should be some in his area although they're timid and so seeing one is pretty rare.
Yoo, this game is sick! Not as balanced as some other games because you can make some really overpowered stuff, but it's fun to do and okay since it's a single player experience!

Odd, dropping this here since I'm noticing the problem you're having (mostly because a lot of other streamers/youtubers had it back on release):
You're too focused on blocking. Blocking, in Inscryption, is the worst thing you can do, unless you're under some very specific circumstances. All you want to do is constantly push damage to the opponent. Who cares that he's hitting you with a grizzly for 4 damage in one lane if you're hitting him for 9 with 3 wolves in every other lane? All that matters is just never being in lethal range. To quote the MtG motto "The one life point that matters is the one that keeps you alive and makes sure the opponent's not!"
Life is a resource. Throw it away if lets you set up a better play for the next turn. Remember, you SEE what the opponent is going to play all the time! You have perfect information (aside from the things that the game purposefully hides from you). You don't NEED to play every single card you can every turn, you can just play a squirrel in a safe lane turn 1, take some damage and then draw another one and drop a wolf turn 2!
Also, noobie advice, the cat is one of the best units you can get, you'll want it to hang around (although giving its effect to the stoat wasn't a bad play by any means). It's basically a better squirrel you can reuse whenever you want, so long as you're willing to sacrifice some DPS for it. Think about the game with the rocks and the stumps, since neither the cat nor the stump can attack, the cat was basically just a free sacrifice whenever you needed that NOTHING could stop you from getting. That's the way to go about it when using it.
Anyways, this game is great, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it almost as much as I'll enjoy watching the learning process... GL out there, and keep it up!
Actually you want to move the Cat's effect to a different creature asap. The infinite summon effect on the Cat is unique from others because the cat can only be used for 9 summons. Whereas moving it to the Stoat makes it actually infinite.
This game was amazing. I wish I could play it again for the first time - the music, atmosphere, and dialogue was so captivating!

Two tips that the game doesn't explain very well (or at all, actually) :
- you can press the spacebar to ring the bell (and end your turn);
- the symbol you see on the lower left of the boulder card (e.g. at 9:20) means the card cannot be sacrificed. You'll see the same symbol on other cards. So, if a card _doesn't_ have this symbol, it means it _can_ be sacrificed (even if sometimes it doesn't make a lot of sense).
Just want to talk about the Scale and 'Health' system for the game, cause I've seen a few people play and not understand it. When looking at the Scale, focus on the 'Notches' or 'Spikes' on the top middle. The battle starts in the Middle with 5 notches to the left and right. If the scale tips to the end on the left, you lose. If it tops to last on the right, you win. But since it's a 'Scale' It can be Deceptive.
The best way I can view it, is the middle being 0, the far left being -5 and the far right being +5 So:
-5 -4 -3 -2 -1 0 +1 +2 +3 +4 +5
Your goal is to get to +5. But that does 'Not' mean just doing 5 damage and you win. For example, if you take 4 damage, suddenly you are a -4. To get from -4 to +5 takes 9 Damage. Not 5. So how much damage you need to win is always changing. So you and him, in theory, could constantly do, say, 5 damage to each other over and over, going from -2 to +3 for 10 rounds, and have 50 'damage' weighing the scale and yet not progress the battle. You have to do more damage over time to tip it fully to the far right.
Basically: Just keep an eye on the top of the scale, try to always tip the damage enough to hit the far right. And never let it go far left.

Since the stoat took the power from the sacrificed card, does that mean you could have had a venomous stoat if you had picked the snake instead of the cat earlier on? Or a flying stoat if you had chosen to sacrifice the bird instead of the cat? XD

Odd, I've noticed since you have gotten the new microphone there's times when you're speaking a little louder the top end starts to sound like it's clipping or distorted. It's been very noticeable for me. Just thought I'd point that out to you.
I know this was a year ago, and I have not played the game, but wouldn't it have been better to play the infinite lives creatures early to allow for more points per turn for card placement? E.g. Turn 1: If you put a squirrel out, sacrifice it and put the cat out, the cat is there next turn as well as being able to draw and play a squirrel - two points for placing creatures, and if you put the infinite lives creatures in an area where they are not against an opponent with attack, they will benefit you for many turns...
Yea but strategies in these games just aren’t so obvious to some people. Maybe he just hasn’t played a game like this before

Even though I love this game, I refunded it on Steam. Unless you can fight ALL the bosses on ALL maps without dying after you have the needed items in order to succeed in the plot, you will be in an infinite circle of playing the cards and starting over, running out of useful cards. I think I might buy this game again with a VERY big discount, but I'm far better off seeing other people playing. It still takes quite a while to break the circle (and for me it takes AGES). I've seen people finishing the game in 8 hours, while it took me, like, 10 hours to try and break the card game circle? I'm really bad at this. I hope you'll do better than me. Have fun!
