I am a proud Slytherin and the part that says about "what you see, it's not me" reflects how other houses view us through their biased ideas that Slytherins are evil. They aren't.
Imagine being a Slytherin in the first book, your banners are up and your proud you followed the rules and did your house proud. Then all of a sudden your own Headmaster announces you’ve lost after probably a whole day of celebration.
Sytherin isn't evil and I absolutely hate how everyone says Slytherins are mean because I'm a Slytherin. The traits of Slytherin are ambitious, cunning, leadership, power and resourcefulness, no where do I see mean, rude and evil! Harry was almost sorted into Slytherin, would that change his personality? Most likely not. Hermione would've also done just fine in Slytherin probably too, she's ambitious, resourcefulness, powerful and shows great leadership skills. I can see how the Slytherin traits make a great villian, but that doesn't mean ALL Slytherins are evil.
Well tbf when you judge someone you would most likely put a morally not okay person in Slytherin (eg if they’re manipulative etc etc) Which is also why I am confused as to how I got Slytherin when Im a nice person. I actually got a tie between Ravenclaw and Slytherin in extended quiz and when I retook it Slytherin win by one point (but then tbf I didn’t wanna b in Slytherin so my friend told me I prob subconsciously rigged it)
Manipulation is also a Slytherin trait. For the most part, I agree with you. Not all Slytherins are evil. It's just that some Slytherins use their qualities for bad things, especially the qualities that are used for mostly bad such as manipulation or cunning.

I'm a slytherin and even though I wouldn't change a thing about this I love hufflepuff as well! I think both houses would work well with other if one would only combine their strengths However, each house has their values and their potentials but the both - slytherin and hufflepuff are preferably my favourites
When i first came across the harry potter universe i thought griffindor was the greatest house, but as i got further into it i discovered that slytherin was my house. Not all slytherins are bad, I would never use the killing curse on anyone or anything. Some people think I'm more of a ravenclaw or griffindor type, but that makes me even more powerful. I can lure people to me and make them do as I please. Slytherins are the way to greatness. I am proud to be a Slytherin.
It's actually a very interesting philosophy that Slytherin House has: it was founded by the Salazar Slytherin who lived a very long time in the wild swamps, so his house can be represented as an imbuled with the magic of pure Nature - it's wild and can be violent and ruthless (the circle of Life - kill or be killed), but it also can be harmonic, inspiring and supporting even in hardest times. P.S. I'm just realised that Salazar Slytherin is basically a druid... And druids are mostly a protagonists than antagonists in many ways.
is it normal for me to cry? It really is a very good edit. I will always be proud to belong to Slytherin. A wonderful and misunderstood house. Even so, I feel sorry for everything that many of those who belonged to that house had to go through, like Draco. I can't help but be flooded with sadness every time I think deeply about this wonderful house.
As we all do, it seems to me that any Slytherin will always be battling a demon, and I think that's what makes you a Sly. The battles that we face, every single day, as opposed to the other (constantly happy) houses. We are not afraid to show our sadness. We do not mask ourselves.

In slytherin mind they would likely put family first no matter what happend and they want power and ofcourse respect towards them, not all Slytherin is bad guy/girl they just do what they think is worth fighting for and Im proud being slytherin while my parents both are Gryffindor (｡ŏ_ŏ) to be honest it's weird

A house wiith amazing traits, the most interesting characters and the darkest history. Slytherin is just amazing, with its own mixture of black and white, intelligence and mystery. In schools, fights are often held among the best ones. Gryffindor and Slytherin are the most interesting and so its fine for them to have a rift I think! Not disrespecting the others, but Gryff and Slyth are the ones to keep you reading the story. Says, a Hufflepuff.
