Hi, I just swapped my cloth seats for those same leather you got in my astra h 5 door 2007 model and have the exact same switches for the heated seats looks like although the heated switches light up the heated seats are not working also during the completed swop I now have a airbag light come on ,on the dashboard wich is a pain not sure how I'm going to get that dash light to go out .The cloth seats I removed didn't have heated seats
Hi I’ve tried do this with my van I’ve been lucky enough that all wires was in I’ve just added the two 15 amp mini fuse an the relay. They seats aren’t working so they also need programming in?
Very clear tutorial, thanks for uploading this! If I'm retrofitting using a 6 button switch bar rather than the 4 button one, do the wires go into the same ports on the socket?
Very informative video! I've just checked and my van has all the necessary parts. Struggling to find a 4 button dash though. Can I ask where you found one?
@@zedalonhi, I have an Astra H Cosmo, I checked the rear electrical box, I have pins, but there is no big yellow fuse box in the rear electrical box, I recently purchased a 6 button hazard switch with heated seat buttons (mine was 4 button). Now, if there are 3 gray pins under the seat, I cannot open the socket to check it and I do not want to break it. Can you explain how I can open it? If there are 3 gray pins can I make it work with the opcom when I get the heated seat pads and the big yellow fuse in the rear electrical box? Or do I need to buy something else like an additional module? Thank you from now. (My seats are standart cosmo seats without heating, I want to put the pads to original seats)
im in the process of installing my heated seats, ive got the correct rec but no wiring from the rec or switches do you have a diagram to look at? cheers
Hi couple more questions around this cut off some connectors off another astra 1) from rec to under seat, I got different thickness cables... Would that matter? 2) under seat connections, for the other side is it the same pattern or like reverse (mirror like) connection Thanks
Hi due to the higher amperage used by the heating elements in the seats, I used 17amp wiring. Try not to have different thickness of wiring on the same line, also make sure that the earth lead is the same amperage. And the connector wiring pattern is the same way on both seats. I hope this helps.
do you have a link on where i can get the cable, connector removal tool and the pin required, as i popped into my local shops and they dont keep these in stock
For the cables I just used one of the local auto parts shops and the connect to removal to I literally got off wish for about £3. And when you say pin do you mean your car pass if so if you don't have it in your car document folder then you'll have to contact vauxhall/Opel.
Hi sorry for the off topic comment but I heard you mention a junction box on the video. Do you know if the aerial runs to that by any chance? I need to replace mine and thought I’d ask in case to see if I can avoid having to pull all the trim out.
Zedalonus World The piece I need to replace is the connector that goes into the back of the radio. Whoever had the car before destroyed it lol. Thanks for the quick response!
Well, can we use after market heating pads from AliExpress if they’re not built into the seats? I have everything I need to wire this up, except for the heating pads. Can I use the aliexpress pads to wire this up?
@@zedalon that’s the problem. I don’t know the schematics of the switch, nor what’s needed in the seats. I don’t understand how the signal wire works. What is under the seat that receives the signal? A relais? If so what relais do I need to order?
Ah ok, the original wiring has 3 wires 1 is a permanent live originally coming from the REC(but I think you could use any permanent live ie: behind the lighter socket) 1 is ground and the third comes from the dash buttons that one is multiple voltage it supplies 12v while seats are off then the voltage drops with each press of the button
@@zedalon i know what you’re saying, but the switch for the seats when of give of a 12v signal. This is the big puzzle to me. How do you tell your heated seats to be OFF with a signal wire that sends over 12v when the button is off? Is there some kind of regulation circuit needed?
I think it works along the lines of while it's receiving two 12-volt signals it doesn't activate the heating element but once one of the voltage dropped it then initiates the heating of the pad
hello mate, just recently started watching your videos. loving the Astra videos. i have just replaced my BID screen with a GID one. How do i get rid of the safe display message??
Well done on a fitting that mate but your wiring is a mess! And your wire coding is abit umm left wanting as if anyone owning that car after you need to sort any problem they might have with your install would find a odd mix and guess work when it came to What wire is for what! But it's all done now and working so 🤞 no problems ever for it, sorry if this sounds like a bad comment it's not just think for someone like you that plays with the car electronics should know or have a bloody good idea of what the colours mean and also if the wire has a trace wire colour to it and know what it means sorry!

I’m thinking of fitting a REC in my Astra, can you link a video of how to retro fit one? Is there air of wiring to add etc?
Hi I’ve tried do this with my van I’ve been lucky enough that all wires was in I’ve just added the two 15 amp mini fuse an the relay. They seats aren’t working so they also need programming in?
Yes they just need to be switched on in the rec with op-com

I would think so yes
Zedalonus World Will give it a try, thanks matey
Is there any chance you can help me do them

I found mine of eBay as I was have same problem finding one

Can this be done on a model with no rec
can you give a detailed diagram of the installation of all the necessary cables, who comes from and where it comes from?
I will draw one up
I've drawn up to wiring diagram but cant figure out how to post it.

i have retrofit sport button... you should do yours
I have thought about but doesn't it need certain components installed to work?
do you have a link on where i can get the cable, connector removal tool and the pin required, as i popped into my local shops and they dont keep these in stock

Do you have OEM or aftermarket head unit?
Zedalonus World Got an aftermarket head unit at the moment. It’s connected to the stock connector with an adapter
How is the stock wiring damaged?
everything is in my astra apart from the switch wires were do they go to some box?
They goto the X1 connector which is behind the passenger kick panel. They goto pins 48 and 49
Can you send me the wiring diagram too?
Have the seats already got the heating elements as standard?
I don't think the standard seats have the heating elements installed
Is it cheap to buy an “op-com”?
@@0wen1066 okay i bought one, they're a bit of a headache for anyone wondering but working they're pretty good, mine was £15
where did you ground the seats?
