    Watching these magnificent animals makes you feel so small and insignificant .... how anyone can hurt them is beyond comprehension .... it's hard to imagine that there are only 1000 left. When will mankind ever learn to stop killing any animal for sport, greed and just because "we can" ... we are the worst living species. Thank you for sharing this video ❤️

      True. All the animals and other living things of the world would be way better off if humans didn't exist.

      Some humans are stupidly arrogant and don't respect anything. But there are also plenty like yourself, myself, and probably the others here that could never harm these majestic gorillas. If you ask me, ticks and stink bugs are the worst species... followed closely by mosquitoes.. 😖

    No doubt my favourite animal (though I don't really even see them as animals), they are absolutely amazing and beautiful, the little ones are so funny and adorable. It looks so peaceful the way they live their life. And Guhonda is the king of the jungle, he's so strong, powerful and amazing. They need to be protected with everything we can, we ow them that. We will be much poorer if they die out.

      Good recognition. They're no more animals than we are ourselves. With their toddler-like capacity for thought and emotion, I consider them people as well. Human definers like language and tools are found in rudimentary form among gorillas as well, so why bother making the distinction at all?

      You have no idea how awful humans have been to these poor mountain gorillas. I learned about what really happened to so many of them and it is beyond and disgustingly evil! People would go kill the whole Gorilla family to take one baby to sell. They would cut off the hands and feet them while they were still alive. They would cut a mother gorilla's throat while the baby gorillas held onto her crying. These butchers would do this and much worse while laughing and posing for pictures. They would purposely torture a baby Gorilla just to get others to try to help then kill them. I could go on for hours with horror stories, but basically, human beings are the monsters of our planet. Gorillas, like most animals are very peaceful creatures. They are only made to be scary and dangerous for human profit in movies and so they can justify killing them.

      @@andrewdwight3443 There is something very wrong with homo sapiens. If we don’t evolve from being a destroyer species, I feel the earth will find a way to eliminate us and let the more peaceful hominids take over.

      @@andrewdwight3443 the vast majority of these animals were killed for food when the people of Rwanda were driven into their land as they escape the genocide...which was sponsored by the French and Belgium especially....also Clinton had the ability to stop the genocide but refused to act...nearly ONE MILLION PEOPLE were killed MOST HACKED TO DEATH WITH MACHETTES...it is the most inhumane example in the history of human beings.

    • @andrewdwight3443
      @andrewdwight3443 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jadezee6316 I understand what you are saying and the more I learn about Clinton and people like his buddy Jeffery Epstein, the more I agree that Clinton was not a good guy. Ok, if they killed them for food, it doesn’t make it that much better either. At some point we human beings must take responsibility for our own actions. If me and 100,000 of my friends grabbed machetes and hacked pregnant women to death in our country, everyone would be talking about how terrible we were. But it seems like as long as it’s not the US or Europe, not only do you never hold the actual perpetrators guilty, you blame people for not stopping it that had nothing to do with it. I’m not saying your completely wrong, but to not hold the people accountable for their own actions is not right. Ok they were hungry, I seriously doubt killing mountain gorillas was there only source of food! It probably was the easiest. Also I know for a fact that poaching has played a huge impact of their decline as well! I just think we would all be better off not making excuses and calling out this terrible slaughter of animals as wrong!

      @@mamaksstorytime Sadly, Katie I tend to agree with you. The ones of us that care for our fellow human beings, our planet, and the beautiful animals that exist here, seem to become less and less. Greed and selfishness have taken over. Let’s hope that changes. To most animals human beings are basically Nazis.

    I did this trip 7 years ago and at 70 it was hard work. At 77 I think I'd have difficulty. The temperature and elevation make it a tough climb but I am glad. You can ask for an area where the gorillas have spent the night and I guess with training I could it but would choose an area closer to the boundary wall that you can see early on in the clip. And, when the driver said you need more than 3 x bottles of water I should have listened. On the way up my partner slipped and cracked a rib (but continued). On the way down I was severely dehydrated and kept cramping. I had "rented" 2 porters to carry camera bag etc - then found another. Two arms around their shoulders and the other holding my legs up. I have never enjoyed the smell of strong body odour so much. 6 hours from the Jeep to the gorillas and back. Worth it - you bet it was.

      Memorable, I went there in 2009, when gorilla permit could still be obtained for 400 USD and visited Susa group. When I won the photo contest within Volcanoes Safaris, I got the second chance to visit those amazing creatures, this time in Uganda and it was beautiful, since an infant gorilla touched my head and I was privileged to be there in a solo group of 2 people and guides. Well, I agree with the fees to go up, for a good cause, but somehow 1500 USD is a lot of money, not all the people could pay to go on such a expedition... and the sad fact is, that despite all the money gathered, there are still poachers out there, killing those beautiful animals...

    Brings tears to my eyes to think that humans can cause them so much harm. As humans it’s our job as the “intelligent” species to protect those that don’t have a voice to speak for themselves. Unfortunately greed exist in the heart of those selfish humans that see them and all wild life as theirs for the taking.

    Beautiful! I love the information in this video, and the respect shown to these incredible animals. It's a shame that they have to come into contact with humans at all, but it seems that these habituated gorillas are doing a great thing for their species - they are bringing in ecotourism dollars (and pounds etc.) to protect not only their habitat but the well-being of the surrounding villages, so that the people there will not be compelled by need to move in on the protected land. I should join the team to protect them. Because I wouldn't hesitate for 1 second to pull the trigger to stop someone from harming these majestic beings. They are the people of the forest and have every right to live there without harm from humans.
