Remember R.I.C.E (rest, ice, compression, elevation) after your rides. It really helps. I started suffering with my knee in a similar way after a few rides on my new fat bike, probably due to the wider Q factor. My cranks are 120mm wide, so I’ve popped some flat pedals on to allow me to shift my foot position occasionally on the ride. Although, my fiveten shoes are so grippy I think I get more float with my clipless pedals! I hear you about the e-bikes too. My uncle had a stroke last year and he’s not allowed to drive anymore so he had to sell his motorbike, but he can ride an e-bike and can be regularly found tootling around Lincolnshire on it. I went rode a bit with him last year and it was awesome.
Cracking video Dunk! I was nearly with my nose in the screen. It was if I was cycling myself. Loved it, and miss it so much. But I will get back to it. I'm sorry to hear about your knee (getting older? 😉). I hope it is over soon (I can have a sore knee when I do a long uphill, or a long distance (80 km). And I'm happy your ideas about e-bikes changed a little. If there weren't any e-bikes, loads of people would be sitting home. And if you would always have a knee like you had in the video, you would be quite happy with an e-bike. It relieves (?) your knee. When I commute with the e-bike (I hope it gets repaired soon, it was in the accident), it gives me a basic condition, it's a bit like cardio training. (mind you, one way is 30 km). Get well soon Duncans knee 🙂

Good advice, cheers… yes the ebike chap was so nice, totally made me rethink what I thought of them…😊

Thank you, if the knee don’t get better I’ll be ordering my ebike… lol!
Glad you’re on the mend, look forward to more of your vids.
