Great video!! I just changed mine by following your video today, took less then 3 min and it was done, thank you!! A small note, I bought a M5 grill which I found it doesnt line up with inner grill blades, probably looks better with a regular single black grill rather than a M5 one.
Yes, could be but the M type is a bit more hard looking... :-)
thank you for the video, Bmw quoted me £200 for the grills and labour. I orderd them on Ebay for £44 and put them on myself in less than 10 minutes thanks again.

Part of one of my grills on my g30 was broken so I went to BMW and they wanted to charge me £90 to change it plus the part cost.
Found this video, bought the part and changed it in 2 minutes.

Hey, thanks for sharing... You know, it is subjective what you see ugly and what not... for me was much more ugly to see chrome grill, if the had black elements + wheels on it... :-))) How you feel...
@@gykgykbettercar I have the pack m, the same thing happens to you that when you put the grill you can see the lines of the curtain? I also prefer the black grill but when you see the lines of the curtains it bothers me.😃

The active front grills kind of messes up the look of the m5 grill, as it doesn't line up correctly with the grill blades.
You are right that's why I went for M Performance one so it doesn't look odd.
A single flap grill will line up. The M5 double slat grill wont.
Great Video, thank you! Also watched the one for the mirror change. Can you also show how you changed the blades in the front bumper (left and right) and the fins on the sides (in the doors) to black?

Hello. Thanks for the video. A question: it seems that the active grill behind hasnt the "blades" centered with the M grill. Is only my impression?
You are right. The engine cooling is different on M5, therefore the grill is not matching well the active grill underneath. As I know M5 has no active grill at all, but anyway... Optically is not a problem as they are symmetrical and does not looks as a “fake part” at all.
A single slat grill will fit correctly and the active grill flaps will line up. Fitting an M5 double slat will not line up.

Yes, it is! The varnish is even better. BMW use a high gloss type and gives a really shiny effect even when the car is a bit dusty. I have seen the glacier silver and my one next to each other and the difference is obvious. It is the best color to oder...

Adrian Bergvall Sure, will work on the same way with g31 as well. There is no difference at the front grills.

The color is Rhodonit silver (individual color) and full M pack. I was thinking about normal black grill or M type but I think the M one finally looks better. Do it. :)

Hi, you are right the blades are not at the same position due to normal/M5 style diff. But does not look ugly or silly will be fine no worries. It does not effect any driving or cooling performances. Honestly, 95% never ever will recognize the diff… 😉
Fit a single slat type and the lines in the flaps wont show.
@@frankcooper7223 thanks Frank, you are right… but the double looks a bit more aggressive… I am sure, does not affect anything at all. I use it since 90k km… all is fine.
