    Every time
I drive by Rincon, I just smile, laugh and thank the lord above!!! I’m so grateful that I got to surf this place in the 70’s 80’s long before the cell phones, internet, Surfline, the Plandemic, IG reels, hashtags, texting, and Gavin Newscum. California used to be affordable and a great place to live. Since 2020, I’ve lost my passion, and love for surfing California I love California weather but that’s about it. This video confirms it. 😢😭😢 Thanks for the dream!

During the early 80's my buddy and I ditched High School to go surfing here. The waves were 4-6 ft, ( that's the back of the waves for you non-surfers, the front was about 8-10ft.) There were three people out, my Buddy, myself and some random local dude. Best surfing day of my life.

Had a view of the waves from the house since 1963. It’s insane these days. You might get lucky on the random middle of the week, midday bump in the swell but it’s become so out of hand. Even all the spots we would go to escape the crowds have become mainstream. Back then the gate was a swinging chain link gate and dirt roads inside. To the right was old eclectic surf shacks, artists, etc... Gone.

Go back a 100 years from now and look upon this classic california surf spot and what things you would not see in this footage . Amazing how humans have changed this planet and we still have many that say we have not or we have improved it . I may beg to differ . The planet is still beautiful but nothing like it was when humans were not as plentiful .

The first winter swells everybody froths like moths on a porch light. Locals can still catch Rincon firing with light crowds later in the season. You can even surf yourself silly on those sleeper swells if you catch it mid morning during a weekday after the early morning crowd leaves for work or school.
