Materials:
3mm braided cotton cord
32 cords, 350cm each
8 cords, 500cm each
1 cord, 80cm
44cm dowel
2 shelves 10cm x 40cm
bubble level, measuring tape, scissors, washi tape

Hi! The cords lengths I mentioned worked just perfect for me as you can see at the end of the project. But you can cut I would say around 30-40cm more to have extra lengths just in case.

Thank you! I find it easier to work with braided cord. But yes, you can use other cords, just need to be careful it doesn't unravel.

Hi! For one shelf, I would go for 3/4 of the original length just to be safe, means ~260cm instead of 350cm. If you try this project with one shelf, please let us know the length that you used, it can also help others. Thanks!
