You know Bev, I am not sure that the rug is the right one for that room. What I do know is that no matter the rug, Bev will make it work!! So I will wait and watch. Maybe it will speak more with the introduction of plum? Sooooo, good to have you back Blue Fly!
I’m no pro decorator but if it were me I’d get rid of the wallpaper behind the pictures and pick a color from your new carpet for the fireplace. Maybe a different color for the wall behind the couch. Love your show! How about # 3 on the fireplace and plum behind the couch?
I like that idea also
I agree totally!
If you have time, the wallpaper would be appropriate in the 17th-19th centuries. Wallpaper would be so expensive then so panels or trompe-l’oeil was used. My husband and I lived in Carton Desmense, out of Dublin, Ireland. One room had trompe-l’oeil silk cut outs on the entire room. This home was at one time the Dukes of Leinster and Kildare estate. Now a resort and golf course. If you look up Carton House in Maynooth you can see the images. It was such a beautiful place ❣️❣️❣️
Totally agree!
I get what is trying to be done with the wallpaper I do, but ha there is a but here the scrolls left at the bottom just to me say I'm not finished and waiting to be finished. I don't know if I do something decorating wise and I'm uncertain than it's a no if I say oh I love it than I know it's good. If it's good for you hey it's your room but I would be done with the scrolls at the bottom it just says unfinished to me. Maybe get a different paper one that you can get a proper amount of to do the whole wall.
I think dark plum would look stunning
I vote for #3 I think it pulls in the blue hue of the rug nicely and gives you the warmth you’re going for. I love the wall paper panels framing the artwork, but I just can’t get my head around the falling corners. The home is not “chippy” enough to support that look. I also think you should pull the rug out from the sofa about 6 inches. Other than those issues, I love what you’ve done! You have such a great eye! I can’t wait to see some of those blue and white accent pieces in the room to pull it all together!!!❤
I don’t care for the wallpaper and the rug together. I would choose the rug, but your a wonderful decorator you will figure this out on your own.
LOVE THE BOTTOM COLOR FOR THE FIREPLACE (3), IT HAS SUCH A RICHNESS TO IT, AND YES WITH A HINT OF THE BLUE....
Homes have energy, I have always picked my homes by the energy it gives off.
So happy this home will spend some of its final days feeling beautiful & loved ❤
Yeah. Home feelings are so important
Definitely number three. It pulls the blue tone out of the rug and anchors the space. It is also a neutral color that will be easier to decorate for the different seasons. ❤
Also.. I see those beautiful lanterns peeking out under the rug by the fireplace! Can’t wait to see their new home!
#3, but I'm excited to see the plum. Whatever you choose will be perfect. You were blessed with the ability to put things together and make something beautiful.
Green is my favorite color. But I do like the color on the bottom that has the blue in it the best.
#3 but I want to see the plum. If it were me, I would move the rug away from the base of the couch so the wood floor can be seen. Love your decorative style ❤️
From what you have shown in paint I would pick #3 myself. But hey, let's see the plum !
I vote for 3 but would like to see the plum color also. Love everything so far❤
Oh Bev, it’s amazing how you have warmed and cozied up your cottage already! The fireplace paint colors look more brown in the video, so I now am leaning towards the bottom blue-ish green. So beautiful, but I can’t wait to see the plum!! Big hugs for taking us on this whimsical journey!
I vote for #3. I would also trade one of the large pictures behind the couch with one of the smaller ones to balance them.
Love 3 ❤
Goodness, I don't know but I would like to see the plum option!
Sunday wasn’t long enough!
I love 3!!
Warm taupe color paint for the wall behind the sofa will bring out the paintings and gold frames. Remove the wallpaper, the color and scale compete with the lovely rug. The taupe color paint could extend to the fireplace which will look great with any black and gold accents in the room. Lovely decorative pillows for the sofa will pull it all together.
Looking forward to seeing a plum sample, but for now, #3, the newest green, has won me over.
Plum? Let’s see what the shade of plum looks like. If not plum I choose #3 green. 💜💚
I am with you on the fireplace color! I love the one on the bottom! I'm a big fan of sagey greens and the hint of blue in it complements your rug so well!
I vote for 3!!! The blue tone pulls from the rug❤❤❤❤
Hi Bev, I like # 3. The other ones seem to yellow now. Things are looking up , getting to look like you. Can’t wait to see how you decorate the rest of the space. ❤ Pat
# 3 for sure.
I’m still waiting for that beautiful plum, but number 3 if not. I know you will do fabulous once you decide.❤
Love #3 with your rug
such a lovely cottage you are putting together - I need your touch in my home somehow I watch your videos but cant seem to get the same look = lovely and enchanting as ever!
Beautiful what you have done👍🥰
You know, we have our sad times in life, but I’m like you. Decorating keeps me going. I love giving old homes new hope and love.❤ You are an inspiration for me.😊
Hi Bev, what a sofa, it looks exquisite and oh so comfy, as does the ottoman. The trunk/basket coffee table adds such wonderful warmth and texture. Ok, I like #3, but plum is the unexpected wild card that I think may be just what you are looking for, I’m secretly excited to see that option. Hehe! ❤
Bev you never disappoint and you find the neatest things! I agree with the 3rd leg on the sofa! You are so good at putting your look together and it’s always just beautiful! And to think this is a rental! I’ve been thinking of getting rid of the bigger house and yard and renting something smaller!😱 You make me really think about it as an option??? Yours is beautiful and so cozy and you just have a wonderful gift! I like #3 as it looks so good but green is my favorite color! I trust you to do the right one though!🥳
I still think the PLUM would be best🤗 I feel that your rug will be enhanced instead of just having mostly blue in the room. Your fireplace will then be a focal point 😍
❤ I would do plum on the brick. Looks so pretty and cozy 😂
Good morning Beverly 🙋♀️ I'd pick #3 for the fireplace ❤😊 Love the sofa and ottoman, looks so comfortable ❤😊 Have a great day ❤️😊
Love number 3 green for the fireplace.❤
I too would like you to check out the plum before final decision but I tend to go with number 3 and using some plum accents in the room. So thankful that you are back. You have no idea how much I admire you as a decorator and a human being.
Thank you so much!🌷❤️🌷
Number 3 for sure. I like the blue tone with the rug. Good choice. I am so glad you are back. 😊😊
IT'S Looking exactly like Bev does all her decorating .. SO HOMEY and LOVELY !!! I LOVE your choice of colors (#3 ) for the fireplace , placement and your French/English country style ..I think Using the plum color in decor pieces would be a nice touch .. BUT... I would NEVER assume you need anyone's help in decorating .. YOU are a Professional decorator !!🌹💖💞
Vote for 3👍🏽
I can just see a horizontal oval-ish mirror on the wall below the rabbit. I love the wall with the wallpaper and gorgeous frames and beautiful pictures… I just know you will do your thing, and it will be magical. I’m here for it!
your channel is the only one i watch that the youtuber does not appear in the video. why not????
I’d paint the fireplace a super dark navy or a super dark plum. Needs a little anchor color
You are a very composed decorator/designer. You might want to consider a federation blue or another blue to compliment the rug. Turning this regal rental into a beautiful home before our eyes is a journey. Godspeed v
Well, #3 is my fav but plum sounds interesting
I hope you still kept those beautiful matching chairs, you had in the room off from main hallway w/ animal print pillows
3 works. It is a cooler green though. Plum can read brown. I had a plum bathroom once. I love the sofa. I’m not a huge fan of the wallpaper curling in the corner but you can always make it work. Your channel is one of the most interesting channels on TH-cam.
Bottom color is best 3333! Do try the plum
Definitely top left! If you want warmth, that is it🤗
I like 3… I think it would bring out that color in your pictures, your rug, your new chest under your window and the fireplace wall. They would all connect.. it’s going to be so lovely!!! 🥰
I like the warmth of 1 and 2
I’m no pro decorator but if it were me I’d get rid of the wallpaper behind the pictures and pick a color from your new carpet for the fireplace. Maybe a different color for the wall behind the couch. Love your show!
That wall is a work in progress. Just hang in there with me😊. Have a wonderful Sunday!🌷❤️🌷
My heart is with PLUMB , AND by golly all y'all will live with what Y'ALL'S heart luvs. ( I'm hoping it's plumb 😂
3 or plum! ❤
Plum would be amazing!
There is something about plum.🌷❤️🌷
# 3 is really a pretty color for the fireplace. Love the rug also. The linen sofa is a dream can’t wait to see the rest. ❤
I really love that rug….have almost bought it for my foyer. I just am not a fan of the wall. I would have to paint it…maybe the same color as the fireplace that you choose. ❤
Also, a warm color behind your sofa would make it pop and you could add pretty pillows to tie in that color.
#3, but like the plum idea.
I love the panels like this. I loved them at your old house too. Versatility!!!!
Hey Bev, My mom was a firm believer in buying quality, top of the line, really well made home furnishing, too. She always bought Ethan Allen furniture and I guess she passed that on to me as well. I love my Ethan Allen sofa that I purchased in 1978. It has been recovered 3 times and still looks as good as it did when I bought it many years ago. Never heard of Six Penny sofas. Ty so much for sharing this with me.❤️ Connie
I would love to see the plum but if not I like “3”.
Hey Beverly! Love the sofa and ottoman. While I would choose the #2 sage green, I also like #3 very much!!! It doesn’t read green on my screen but maybe it’s just in the video. Don’t think I would venture to the plum, ‘tho. Anyway, enjoying your journey.
My favorite is the fourth color…is this a sage tone perhaps? I’ve always found it to be like a neutral. It compliments the blue colors I use in the same space. Television doesn’t always translate well…what we see probably looks a bit different in reality. Everything is looking very pretty, though. Keep going. I look forward to seeing the end result. Just a side note…I like the color plum, also, and have a vintage chair upholstered in that color. 😊
I too love #3 , but would be interested to see a plum too
Try the plum on the fireplace, your rug looks like it has a plum color in it, so it will pick up on that. Besides it's only paint, if you don't like it, you can repaint it. I know you'll make it beautiful.
I’m quirky too so I’m loving the rolled down wallpaper panels, you do what you like, you always do and everything always looks amazing, keep up the quirkyness
Bottom new color looks the nicest, in my opinion. It is a nice color. #3. Need to see plum color.
Thank you!🌷❤️🌷
My eye went immediately to that bottom fireplace colo # 3r. It is more neutral looking,. Warm and cool. So it goes with everything. You have such an eye for decor!
The blue-green one
3 for me, but would love to see the plum!
Just checked for-the little blue fly and I got lucky so excited to hear your sweet voice Bev, I like 3. Things are looking cozy.
Lovely…
Definitely #3! Don’t do plum! Use the plum as an accent somewhere else.
I would get so tired of the plum 😴
Do try the plum! Between the greens I still like 1. Can't wait to see what you decide!
#3 I love green and so happy to see it"s popularity in decorating now instead of everything gray
Ohhhhh...plum sounds rich and cozy.
Hey Miss Bev so glad to here your voice of excitment and inspiration how blessed you have been to get to decorate another home once again! I have been with you at your old home then mived to your sweet cottage loved warching you transform that one and i bought MANY OF YOUR INSPIRATIONS! .. and now watching you transform Cottage Carolina!!!
Love it !
Listen I say go with The warm green like natures fountain in grass n trees it goes with EVERYTHING its a nice base and Then DEFINITELY ACCENT WITH PLUMS IN YOUR HOME !! 🎉 Glad your back you have been so missed❤
I love the greens but it does look like the #3 would pull from the rug....So this is your call for sure .. it is hard to tell true color on a monitor or TV screen. Love the sofa
Love the new green the most
I think 3 would look great with the carpet.
On the fireplace I like the bottom left color. Plum is pretty too!
Plum could help me out of my comfort zone..🙂Let's give it a look.😳🙂 I just recently changed to sage green. And I am very pleased how my bedroom turned out.Plum sounds like it could be fun.👍looking forward to next video ,excited to see your decision on the plum .🙂
Bev, I like #3, on the fireplace. The sofa is so comfy looking. Everything is coming together nicely.
You always pull idea's together so well! Wishing you good health and happiness in your little neck of the woods. NC also!!!
Found your channel from Johanna, Johanna's Dream Home and happy to subscribe as soon as I saw that fabulous sofa and ottoman! Choices of fire place paint...#3 seems a good choice at first glance, but you mentioned plum! wondering about shades of that now! Enjoyed your video, thanks!
Hello Beverly, I love the rug, but maybe turn it so the pattern is facing towards you instead of the pattern facing the window? Also I'm now voting on fireplace paint color number 3.
Thank you for voting!🌷❤️🌷
Hi Bev! Read all the comments and what an “overload” of opinions! I personally love a slip covered sofa and have had mine for almost fifteen years now and still love it. I have a Conair handheld steamer and use it for so many things. I use a portable clothes rack to steam clothing items and never have to put up ironing board anymore. It’s great for duvets, bed skirts and so many things. You will find many uses for yours. I really like #3 now especially with the rug. Can’t wait for the next segment. Thank you so much!
I like #3. It matches well with the blue rug and pulls out the grey(?) border of the rug. I wouldn’t mind seeing what the plum looks like too! I just found you on TH-cam and you are such an inspiration.
I truly would love to see what a swatch of plum looked liked next to the greens. Loving the sofa!
i wasn't sure about plum until i saw it used in a home and it was very eye pleasing and lovely. So the #3 color would also work i think. i am not a designer but you have the right touch with your decor Bev.
I choose 3❤
Not a huge fan of the paper behind the couch, but love how you’ve styled it. The sofa seems very low. And I think the rug needs to run in the opposite direction-the flower bouquets are upside down! Go with the plum!
Love the one on the far left, but plum could be great, also. Your taste is impeccable-whatever you decide willbe fabulous❤
#3, but would also love the plum on the fireplace. Love the wallpaper how you have it. Your storytelling decorating is beautiful. You alway amaze me with unconventional yet beautiful decorating. ❤️.
That’s a beautiful, beautiful sofa. I would’ve probably picked out the same one. Enjoy.
I’m feeling #2 or 3 color swatch can’t go wrong with either ! It’s coming together nicely can’t wait to see what you do with this place
Love watching you make her "smile" again!!
I love #3, but I'm leaning to the plum!!! Cant wait to see what you decide!!!
Changed my mind I Love the sage # 3, no goin back!
I had a thought about maybe the blue in the carpet on the fireplace for paint 🤔
That wood flow nicely. Thank you.🌷❤️🌷
