  • Day 1 on the Kasilof River fishing for Sockeye Salmon in Alaska! The weather in Alaska postponed our Fly out charter for the day, but Alaska FishOn Adventures was able to shuffle things around and get us on some fish. The fishing technique we are using is called Flossing. Once the Sockeye Salmon enter the river, they do not eat, therefore they do not bite the hooks or any bait. Check it out, and come back again for some more footage!

I just got back from there June 30 - July 10. Caught a 45# King in the Kenai and released. Fished the fly in to Wolverine Lake and fished Kasiloff, also Rock, ling, halibut on the ocean left from Homer. Great times.

How was the fishing at Wolverine Lake at that time? That trip is my next video coming up tonight. We missed the reds, and were early for the Silver's last year on July 23rd. Awesome memories though! Going back next year.

A lot smaller than the Kenai reds but the Kasilof river does get a very good run of reds.

After watching I see only the guy in the intro said it wrong. Great video though. Refreshing to see a skilled net man. So many people lose fishing fumbling around with the net.

You guys had so much fun there.
It’s that river by kenai? I’m going fishing 🎣 there Monday coming from California. Can you get there by walking or you need a boat?

The river is close to Kenai, but you would need a ride to get there. There are places to fish from shore on both rivers! Good luck!

Correct, it has to be in front of the gill plate to keep.
