    This poncho is so easy to make and even if you don't follow the way he connects them here, it looks great. I think it could be a little longer on the sides, but it's a fun project! Thanks Mikey!

    I used to make a poncho like this that I found in a lady's magazine in the 1970's. We just crocheted a foundation chain, joined that to form a large ring, making sure not to twist the chain, and then crocheted in it the round, no joining at all. I remember it started with a v stitch in the center front and back. The finished project was pretty much the same as this one.

    I like it and just may do one for myself this fall. On thing I am adamant about is stress points, which will be where you first connected the aqua colored yarn to the brown (4DC). In stead of just doing one slip stitch, I would advise at least two to give strength to the main stress point at the shoulder of the shawl. All the rest of the connections can be as Mike suggest as there will be little stress on the sides. Great work Mike, I love your videos.

    WooHoo went to Michael's in Peterborough Ontario today, 50% coupon's in hand and my hubby to, they had quite a bit of Caron Cakes, I got the Red Velvet colorway, two for the price of one. Can't wait to make this thanks so much Mikey......Sorry I have a quick question at the beginning you said you were going to use a 5mm/H hook then when you started the actual tutorial you said you were using a 5.5MM/H can you confirm what size you did use, as I only got 2 balls of Caron Cakes don't want to run out lol..Thanks so much

    I just want to point out that if you do this poncho in a round rather than separate panels the stripes will be smaller. The whole point of the separate panels is to have larger blocks of the colours (I think).

    I have a question for you. The last step of the written pattern says to repeat the last 2 rows, working increases as established. Where are the increases established? I imagine that the last row of the panels would be longer than the first based on the pictures, but I don't see where or how the increases are established.

    how would i go about making this poncho for a 4-6 yr old ...im going to be using thin yarn...just need to know how many chains and how many rows i would have to to make it the right size

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not really sure. You are changing two variables... The thickness of the yarn, so a hook change is necessary. So it throws the counts completely out of wack to maintain a measurement. It will have to be Researched and Developed to play with the correct chain size to make it work.
