And they all must have a damn tracker or something. How do they find the person they are looking for in the entire goddamn US? This show after season 3 became such a horrible joke.
Also, anyone getting shot, stabbed, or bludgeoned to death is not necessarily dead. They will reappear later, having changed sides/loyalties, and no matter how they betray their former comrades or indeed attempted to kill the, they will be forgiven and reaccepted. All children are backstabbing, murderous snakes. At least three times per episode, people will point guns at each other, threatening to shoot, but will not shoot. Thanks for the re-cap because I gave up on the show a year ago.
Fear started off so strong, it was so intriguing to watch it all kick off. But the characters losing and finding each other lost steam really quickly and when Morgan came over it just lost all sense of what it could be. Shame for what could have been a great show.

@nathancarpenter2809 Absolutely not. I agree the show was very frustrating but the original commenter used words like unbelievable and unimaginable. The entire universe is unthinkable and unimaginable. That's all I'm saying. And yes the writing was bad.

I feel like this show was a cinematic masterpiece between Seasons 1 and 4 when Dave Errickson was still showrunner. It felt so good. Then, subsequently when the intro changed from the old Fear TWD one to the new one with the siluettes, that's actually when the show changed from being Fear to being a TWD Fantasy setting. Hell no! S1-3 was some of the worst TV I ever saw! The Combination of Dickens, Curtis and Henrie was really unnatural! Bad Acting! I was so happy when they cleaned the house! Should have kept Dilane though!
@DarylMCDeath nah, that's such an L opinion. S1-3 were amazing but it just progressively got worse. Went from a somewhat reasonable take on the apocalypse to Farcry New Dawn level fantasy. It's a terrible transition.
as many people that came back from the dead in this series i thought for sure Nick would show up alive and well in the finale. they might as well have brought him back bc of that stupid unexplained ways everyone else was brought back.
17:28 it is interesting to me that someone took the time to set up the barricade to warn people about the reactor. Not in the, "that was pointless" kind of way, but interesting in that atleast someone, during the literal apocalypse, took the time to try and at least prevent a few cases of cancer.
Its crazy how the military got destroyed by slow moving zombies. While other series like "All of us are dead" has faster, stronger, sensitive smelling and hearing abilities. But the military handled them which was in Korea. While America has best military and got overrun.
This is my biggest issue with the entire TWD universe. I just can't buy that premise. When a small bunch of famished people with sticks and knives can take out countless walkers, that just seems way too unbelievable. There's no military that would have a problem here, you'd have a harder time with regular angry drunks on a saturday night. Trying so hard to look past that, but it's a challenge.
@@espenstoroIf it was just the already dead rising, it'd be ridiculous. When you add in people hiding their bites and anyone dying of any cause turning into zombies, it's more realistic that the military would fall. At least as realistic as you can get when talking about zombies.
@@espenstoro based on when it started back in 2010, there were over 300 million people in the US, which makes the general population about 200x larger than the 1.5 million active duty military members at the time. factoring in that a good chunk of our military is overseas, it's very plausible that the members at home get overrun in a hurry.
In this universe the concept of a "zombie" doesn't exist, so by the time people come to grips with what exactly is happening, infected people have already unwittingly broken into military ranks.
I also thought that but once I saw how we behaved during the pandemic I can safely assume we'd be f*cked, specially in a world with no previous concept of zombies. Military or no military.
I was so excited when thia first came out because i was always interested in the perspective of drug addict in an apocalypse and how they would fare, one of my favorite lines ever in anything was nick talking about how people are starting to catch up with him now that everyone is living in hell
There are only a few episodes from FTWD that are still vividly in my memory after watching this show for so many years. That poison episode and the one where the people suffocate in the bunker & have to sacrifice themselves (from the same season in Brokejaw) were some of my favorite episodes. Season 3 was easily the best season.
My pal met this Mexican girl while me and him were on holiday in Europe. He moved to Mexico from our home the UK and married her. They got work as extras in this series. They were people at the ranch and were in a couple of episodes. She passed away a couple of years ago sadly. Cheers for the vid.

For me the show really fell off after killing it’s best characters like Nick and John Dorie for no real story reasons other than shock factor, similar to how Glenn’s death was handled in main series. But I also understand that their actors were wanting to move on to different things. Just wish they handled their characters and their deaths better
For me personally the show went downhill after nicks death. I really liked his character. Him being an addict in the apocalypse was interesting. I also really loved that it took place in l.a then went to Mexico. So much potential. Then it was all about "killing" characters just to bring them back at a later time.
agreed i know the actor wanted off the show, but they should have just had him be captured or something so he could probably come back later at some point
agree. it sucks that the only reason he died was because the actor didn't want to do the show anymore, I hate when that happens specially when the character is so important and likeable, same thing happened with Juliette Lewis in Yellowjackets, one would think these actor's contracts would include clauses that forbids them from leaving a show just because.

I do really like the ideas covered per season of fear The Walking Dead (the Western and Nuke seasons were so cool), the problem arises when all the characters are one note. Most characters are introduced for their season and have no purpose after that. Thhs for the final season they bring back the 'golden era' of the cast. And why did they have fake out deaths (especially for Madison) every 2nd episode near the end of the show? Can we not just let their story conclude instead of not seeing them or them 'dying 100 times?
I just can't get over the fact that FTWD follows the same exact progression course that TWD followed A group is formed -> they find a "permanent home" -> an antagonizing group arrived -> there is a fight -> the permanent home is destroyed -> the group is dismantled -> the season ends -> a new permanent home is found -> new entries in the group -> some old member of the group dies, some other rejoins after leaving a previous season -> go back to point 1 20:44 holy fuck is she the actress from The Boys? what the fuck is wrong with her nostrils? I never noticed that 🤣
sucks after the 1st season i felt it had a lot of potential but never could get a good season after that, even bringing in characters like dwight and morgan still didn't help
I remember being a massive TWD fan and I used to watch Fear every Sunday along with TWD. I love the first season of Fear but after the first season it drops off hard.
So much of my life I can’t get back. Annoying suburban teenagers turned super killers overnight. Madison sacrificed multiple people and groups for her kids and they kept believing her! High schools counselor and her daughter turned into the toughest strongest badasses in all of Mexico and the Indian men. Only enough oxygen for Alica to survive in the bunker over all of the men, women and children in the underground bunker. She must breathe directly than others. Can’t believe they Associated this with the TWD!!
Travis was my favooete character, Madison was my swconr favorite, and then Nick, Alicia, and Daniel followed up. They had a great thing going in the beginning, but then they killed off Travis in such a messed up and honestly insulting way and things just really went fownhill from there honestly. It's sad, I really liked the show and kept watching, but I gave up on it around the time Jimbo died.
Man, I was pretty pissed when they did the time skip in season 1. AMC advertised it as "see the outbreak as it happens", then after 6 episodes of well crafted build up it starts happening and "9 days later"... I stuck around till they killed travis off, but after that I was done.
For the final episode I was so done with the show and the bs plot armor they could have had Travis come out of nowhere and be like "Yeah I survived a 300m fall after getting my jugular vein cut" (we never saw the corpse so it makes sense)
How did Madison even survive the explosion and the ruble thing? Wouldn't the issue with her lungs get fatally worse being under all that ruble? I'm so confused
Madison was probably the worst character of the whole series. She just had this mega plot armor and kept being the one who sacrifices and in the end she just survived with her daughter (which has never been revealed how the hell managed to stay alive) and the daughter of the only good character of the series (who she actually killed)... Please dont mix this trash with the main saga of TWD
so the pirates trick them by pretending to be stranded and than try to rob and leave them for dead but you think he murdered one of them in cold blood? lmao thats called self defense they were being attacked
iirc the pirate that got killed was getting used as a bargaining chip but the boy killed him and it messed up the groups plans, he skips over a whole plot line that happens there but i dont blame him
Personally, I liked the first 3 seasons. They weren't perfect, but they at least felt like they had forward momentum and the whole arc on the ocean at least had some promise. 4 ruined it by taking out Nick and Madison (sort of) and trying too hard to be more like the Walking Dead until both shows were almost interchangeable. Everything past that felt like noise.
Do you take requests for recaps? If so, Gotham would be cool to see you do a recap on! I don’t see any good recaps for this show on TH-cam and it seems to be pretty popular on Netflix still
The thing that annoys me about Ftwd is how good it was in the first 3 and half seasons to me and then it just dropped went down all these random plots just to almost resume the plot points they dropped back in season 3 that would have been cooler if troys return was hinted at more earlier cause i did think he died the same way I didn’t think Madison died either but there was no build up to either of their returns just like suddenly oh we’re gonna go finish off some these plot points we left out
There weren't explosions it was just fire. The padre people mention finding her in a water tank after the stadium burned, then she went into what was her prison room and put on the oxygen mask the second time
Honestly season 3 was the pinnicle of this show! Hands down. That old man reciting the poem while birds pick at his brain?! The writing is good, the conflict feels believable, there's JUST enough woke innuendo to not be annoying. Good TV
Thanks for this! The recap makes abundantly clear the abysmal decline of what started out as a pretty great show. The ending was (not surprisingly) stupid and terrible.
@@kaic3532That's the issue tho, do we really need more spin-offs of TWD ? I feel like the TWD universe is oversaturated atm, not a whole lot of people care about it either these days... Would've been better if they didn't try to make spin-offs all the time imo.
I actually really liked the whole show. Just gotta adjust for the change in tone. It’s similar to what the main TWD show did in season 9 onwards. Feels more cartoony with wacky unrealistic moments, but enjoyable once your brain makes that switch. I always loved Morgan’s character but I admit watching him at certain times in Fear got a bit annoying with whatever was going on in his head. Characters like John Dorie and Dwight made it way more bearable. Crazy how far Dwight went from a minor side-villain in TWD.
all that fear showed us was how to take a show at the peak of its potential and completely gut it to the point where its unrecognisable. nicks actor knew what was up, i doubt its coincidental that he left just as the new showrunners came on.

A group is formed -> they find a "permanent home" -> an antagonizing group arrived -> there is a fight -> the permanent home is destroyed -> the group is dismantled -> the season ends -> a new permanent home is found -> new entries in the group -> some old member of the group dies, some other rejoins after leaving a previous season -> go back to point 1
20:44 holy fuck is she the actress from The Boys? what the fuck is wrong with her nostrils? I never noticed that 🤣
It's insane that this show had 8 seasons. I thought it was still on season 3 or something 😭😭
It felt like it moved into a Z Nation vibe
Oh boy. So glad I stopped watching after Travis died. Although I’d expect him to come back when everyone dying comes back.
Thank you so much as I was wondering if I should watch this, 100% absolutely no bloody point then as it just really really sucks.
So in any zombie apocalypse the main threat is HUMANS....duly noted.
37:28 wait what? They're both alive? How? 😂😂😂 comeon
Stopped watching after Nick died. Now I know I haven't missed anything 😆
So like what tf was Alicia doing that whole 7 years she was gone how did she suddenly hear about Madison’s survival like what lmao
thanks for the recap dude.
i was soo confused but now ik the story line.
appreciate the effort on this video ...awesome job!
How did Madison know the arm was Alicia's? The last time they saw each other Alicia had both her arms.
She doesn’t, strand tell her
Never realized how much I hated Nick as a character until now. The worst.
Jeremiah, meanwhile, was pretty great from what I remember.
sucks after the 1st season i felt it had a lot of potential but never could get a good season after that, even bringing in characters like dwight and morgan still didn't help
I remember being a massive TWD fan and I used to watch Fear every Sunday along with TWD. I love the first season of Fear but after the first season it drops off hard.
Season 1 was actually pretty good an it showed how bad ass Daniel is when he got the stadium walkers to attack the military base.
Love this channel, haven’t had to watch some shows lol
Man, I was pretty pissed when they did the time skip in season 1. AMC advertised it as "see the outbreak as it happens", then after 6 episodes of well crafted build up it starts happening and "9 days later"...
I stuck around till they killed travis off, but after that I was done.
For the final episode I was so done with the show and the bs plot armor they could have had Travis come out of nowhere and be like "Yeah I survived a 300m fall after getting my jugular vein cut"
(we never saw the corpse so it makes sense)
Thank you! I didn’t even finish the first season when it aired lol
Watching this recap ive learned that Madison has plot armor....
How did Madison even survive the explosion and the ruble thing? Wouldn't the issue with her lungs get fatally worse being under all that ruble? I'm so confused
The first two seasons were great. It should make everyone mad how the showrunners ruined this series
This started with promise but went downhill from season 2.
Alicia escaped and was rescued. Troy needed to be dead, he was so annoying and crazy, he was good as a one time character. He should have stayed dead.
so the pirates trick them by pretending to be stranded and than try to rob and leave them for dead but you think he murdered one of them in cold blood? lmao thats called self defense they were being attacked
iirc the pirate that got killed was getting used as a bargaining chip but the boy killed him and it messed up the groups plans, he skips over a whole plot line that happens there but i dont blame him
From Padre to Madre😂😂😂
I died when i heard that 😭😭 that's so cringe lol
I have to finish this shit. Stuck at s06. Pray for me guys 😭
Madison is unkillable and kids are evil. Got it.
Seasons 1-3 were awesome. That is all.
Bro how am supposed to order Factor if I'm surviving an apocalypse??
Personally, I liked the first 3 seasons. They weren't perfect, but they at least felt like they had forward momentum and the whole arc on the ocean at least had some promise. 4 ruined it by taking out Nick and Madison (sort of) and trying too hard to be more like the Walking Dead until both shows were almost interchangeable. Everything past that felt like noise.
Taking out Madison was what saved the show, it was a mistake to bring her back!
Do you take requests for recaps? If so, Gotham would be cool to see you do a recap on! I don’t see any good recaps for this show on TH-cam and it seems to be pretty popular on Netflix still
I have a long list of shows I plan on covering, and am always open to requests for shows to add to that list!
Also how did strand end up with a fresh fade?
The thing that annoys me about Ftwd is how good it was in the first 3 and half seasons to me and then it just dropped went down all these random plots just to almost resume the plot points they dropped back in season 3 that would have been cooler if troys return was hinted at more earlier cause i did think he died the same way I didn’t think Madison died either but there was no build up to either of their returns just like suddenly oh we’re gonna go finish off some these plot points we left out
Confused how did madison survive twice being blown up?
There weren't explosions it was just fire. The padre people mention finding her in a water tank after the stadium burned, then she went into what was her prison room and put on the oxygen mask the second time
Honestly season 3 was the pinnicle of this show! Hands down. That old man reciting the poem while birds pick at his brain?! The writing is good, the conflict feels believable, there's JUST enough woke innuendo to not be annoying. Good TV
I stopped watching after nick died. He was my favorite. Thanks for finishing it for me.
Thanks for this! The recap makes abundantly clear the abysmal decline of what started out as a pretty great show. The ending was (not surprisingly) stupid and terrible.
The ending was good, the og group departing ways was great way to set off spinoffs
@@kaic3532That's the issue tho, do we really need more spin-offs of TWD ? I feel like the TWD universe is oversaturated atm, not a whole lot of people care about it either these days... Would've been better if they didn't try to make spin-offs all the time imo.
I have never known a more unlikable main character than Madison 😭 but it makes the show more realistic
The way that I hate how the show runners handled the narrative about the Native American group can’t be described.
I never thought it went past season 3😢
Without nick in the show I lost interest. Nick is the most substanced character ever created and single handedly made the show something better
Crazy how far Dwight went from a minor side-villain in TWD.
all that fear showed us was how to take a show at the peak of its potential and completely gut it to the point where its unrecognisable. nicks actor knew what was up, i doubt its coincidental that he left just as the new showrunners came on.
fever dream of epic proportions
It took so long for this story to have a “good” ending for the main characters
