Yeah, it's not that they are bad singers, they use ALOT of autotune, and just can't do low register notes, easy is basically the same as fearless, they do insane cheorography, they sing too low of notes that makes it hard for them to execute it well. It doesn't help because on their encore, they try and help by dancing and interacting with fans, to try to avoid singing, they need some more vocal practice defo

Maybe her speaking style is nasal, maybe her voice training has been wrong so far, etc. but it doesn't change the result. While expecting to hear things like "I will get a better training, I will improve myself" in return, the answer she gives is "My own happiness is the most important thing right now, I want to enjoy the present, I will not see things that will upset me." They are NOT as good as Hybe think they are. They are talented but they are not good enough for the kind of exposure Hybe is forcing on them. Don’t get me wrong, they are more talented than half of us combined, but they have no control over their voices, pitch, their voice is unstable and that live singing was horrendous. They'll easily keep doing better and better since K-POP is no longer about talent, it's about who's company got money to make the artist as big as possible in terms of numbers but all the recent controversies have and will continue to hurt them.
HYBE needs to stop self-destructing what actually make K-Pop stand out as a genre and go back to what made BTS what they are, to what made TWICE, BLACKPINK, Red Velvet etc. what they are, actual good music, ability to perform and great personalities (at least on camera). Sakura was 12 when she debuded in Japan, Wonyoung was 13, Taemin was 14, BOA was 13 and the list goes on. They all debuted super young.
Protecting them should definitely be a priority, though.

@@TsChryssaAlso, something that sp many forget to even ask or look into... As of the beginning of this year, yes... it's no longer used. But prior to that, and regarding any numbers, particularly when it comes to ages, that were given in all prior years.... I gotta ask, was the Korean ages system being used? Chances are... Yes. Now, this age issue is NOT new, it never has been as you just said. However, if this is the case, if that's the way in which he those numbers were figured, then this would also mean that it's technically grtting BETTER, not worse. It would mean all those ages given need to be reduced, by at LEAST a year, to be accurate. Moreover, any idols whose birthday is in the last few months of the year, need to be reduced by TWO years. People forget... THIS here is the reason why idols all look like babies, this is why they all look so young for their age. THEY ARE. An idol that debuted a couple years ago at 15.... may very well STILL BE 15. Even right now, without the Korean age system in place, how many of these idols ages are we still incorrectly gagging? Because I am positive that not EVERYONE is managing to CONSISTENTLY do the research into what year every idol was born and ensuring that whenever they give that idols age to someone who isn't a fan or just doesn't know any better, whether or not it is accurate. Not to mention all of the countless articles and abandoned no longer updated Idol profiles that are out there, still baring their "Krorean age" instead of their international ones. I guarantee that no one is out there fixing ANY previous occasions in which their age was reworded via Korean age system. I'm just wondering, how many of these ages do we actually have wrong. I find if weird that this hasn't been thoroughly delt with to the point that whenever the topic gets brought up about these idols ages, that people aren't giving their age followed by something like *accurate* or *verified* or even just their birth year instead of their age, make other people do the math, at least then we would all know that we are getting their age correct. (Assuming they can in fact do math lol)... I'm just saying, if their ages are so important to these people, they owe it to them and the cuase to at least be getting them right. Don't they? Because I think if this was corrected, we really would find that it's actually NOT as bad as it once was when it comes to the average age of debut. And in fact, it's been getting better. Don't get we wrong, I do think we really should be advocating for the acceptance of idols who not only work far into their 30, or longer if they so choose. But also that they are able to debut at those games too. However, I think that we need to first see that it's not as bad as we seem to think it is right now, either. If you reduce the ages of ALL active idols prior to 2022 by 1-2 years (which, again, depends on whether or not they were born more towards the end of the year). Then you may very well find that, on average, the ages of the idols debuting since then are NOT worse, perhaps even BETTER than they were before. Just saying... if the age matters, then at least don't have ass the give a damn. Right? Lol

A reason might be that HYBE simply has bad vocal teachers. I’ve also heard from many other fans that HYBE idols (not all) tend to have worse vocals than SM, JYP, YG, and other companies. If a person clearly wants to improve (and are not struggling from health issues), and they’re not improving, what’s the obstacle besides a lack of a good teacher, laziness, and/or a too packed schedule? And even if they have a packed schedule, if they’re receiving such criticism, then the company should be making room for more teaching to improve the vocals. Considering Sakura could have stayed in Japan to pursue opportunities there after IZ*One disbanded, yet chose to continue in South Korea where many things are more complicated shows that she’s definitely not lazy. Therefore, the main reason is likely HYBE.
Edit: Honestly with all the money HYBE has, they should hire ex-SM vocal teachers. I’m sure many HYBE idols who want to improve their vocals would appreciate that.

@Ezel5248 The problem with this is that she, and HYBE to a lesser extent, has already come out and said that she doesn't actively look at or try to find any criticisms on her as a performer. Yes, she's a solid dancer. Yes, she's very pretty. But those things alone can't and won't make me like them. They have to be a decent singer with good control from the top to the bottom of their range. Even when I was in chorus, I wasn't ever the best naturally, but I still tried my best and I worked hard at it to get better. I'd like to think I learned at least something from that time.
Add to that she's got the second-least lines out of the group and it feels like she should not be making those mistakes. It kinda feels like how Itzy Yuna was being criticized because of her not being a "good" singer and then that led to her falling out of confidence.
When Garam left I knew there would be a hole they'd need to fill with one of the others and it wouldn't be the same after she left. I hate to say I wasn't wrong.
It's not even that Garam is a good singer, it's just that she was very passionate about singing and becoming a better singer. I think Sakura definitely knows the basics of singing at least, but she also has to be able to get someone else who is experienced and who will actually help Sakura get better at singing.

There is absolutely no excuse as to why they're fumbling the bag this hard.
Let's not forget that Yunjin and Chaewon are known for their good vocals. Not that Chaewon has been doing bad, in my opinion her vocals are baseline / decent during live stages. But I'm more disappointed in Yunjin, as well as her attitude these days. She can sing *opera* ffs, why does it sound like she isn't putting any effort into performing? I feel like she's lost touch or something because she's doing a lot of things nobody would expect of her *(wearing a tied scarf like a durag and doing "hip" poses, drinking starbucks during a boycott while exhibiting performative activism, her vocal performance, etc)*. I'm not upset at her wearing "inappropriate clothing", as it's her body and I'm all for idols actually feeling comfortable in their own skin for once, but these other things... I don't know how to feel.

They surely anticipated the critique on Kkura's vocals from the start, but let's not forget her powerhouse status in Korea and Japan. And sure, Euncahe is a minor, but we're talking about a country that only upped its age of consent from 13 to 16, like, five years ago. I think the real challenge is them adjusting to the idea that K-pop is now a global thing, and they gotta rethink their usual way of doing things. What we might consider inappropriate in Western culture may not be perceived the same way in theirs. As a huge fan of the girls, I wouldn't change Kkura. But honestly, if you're not into a group, you can just skip listening to them. In K-pop, it's not just about vocals - if it were, groups like Mamamoo, Fromis 9, Purple Kiss, and Billlie would be way more appreciated. So, there's definitely more to it than just vocals.

Not all of them will be great singers. It has been like this in pop music for ages, not just in Kpop, there are only a few artists who have extraordinary vocals. Unclench a bit, people.
Also, the age thing - as long as there is no common approach to this in all pop media, this shit will happen over and over again. You can’t get scandalised selectively. Agencies see that nobody cares when it comes to other industries, they are gonna try this shit anyway. Why not start with scrutinising this practice starting from western industries, which is more influential and powerful, since whatever the trend is in there will spill over to others. This desentralized outrage will not help, will blow over as usual, and netizens will simply move over to getting outraged at yet another group, and another and another. Encore stages aren’t a good measure of vocal capability.
The combination of excitement & a lack of warm-up means singing is more difficult. We also don’t know what other environmental factors come into play.
While Easy isn’t particularly high, it’s right at the bottom end of their singing range, which makes it difficult to sing, for them, especially with little prep.
Netizens also vastly underestimate the difficulty of singing. Any & all singing.
I totally agree that underage Idols need better protection. Look back at T-ARA, Miss A, & other 2nd Gen girl groups, where their underage members are kept covered up. It doesn’t take away from the MVs or performances at all, & it doesn’t look out of place.

Regarding the encore stage, they do need more training of course, there's always room to improvement. However, not all encores were bad. Chaewon did great in most of them despite the song not really being in her vocal range. Kazuha improved so much and did well for the encore stages as well. Yunjin was shaking a little in a few of them but did well regardless because she projects her voice quite well. Can't say a lot about Eunchae, she had very few lines. (She was very out of breath in her smart stages though). Sakura does need to improve a lot more. She's struggling so much and her voice shakes a lot. Not sure what the issue really is, because it's shaky even when she talks and even said it herself. Anyway, the girl needs to step up her game for sure, more than the rest but that doesn't justify why people bullied her like that online. That was really cruel. Criticism is okay but the extent that this reached was really bad.

People are misjudging sakura was a jpop idol most of her career jpop idols dont usually get proper training and are self thought for someone whos self thought sakura does very well(basically the only proper trainee days she had was during pd48 and inbetween izone and lesserafim)

These controversies are so ridiculous it just proves to me that what Le Sserafim do is great. People should get over themselves and stop commenting on other people
Le Sserafim are giving us the best bangers and choreographies and if because of these haters they will just become another generic group, I will be so disappointed... Haters are gonna hate, it's their problem... I hope they don't change, I hope they don't change choreographies... It's literally just dance moves, people are so f***ing conservative

I think what grosses me out the most about the outfits for eunchae specifically is that when you hear fan chants they’re overwhelmingly male. The others dressing the way they do is different for adult women. It’s not a coincidence that the fans seen overwhelmingly male, while having rather explicit choreography.

I don’t understand why in America(I live in Florida and been to NY) young girls can wear such things and no one cares. Young Influencers such as Alabama Baker wears “tight” and “short” things and no one cares.

Lol (G)I-DLE and Sistar19 gives justice to it since they used it with performance reason (plus their theme on their comeback was women empowerment, diva, queen and mostly 2nd Gen Outfit theme) not some walking outside the alley with only wearing underwater

i agree half way. i think half of my problem with this comeback is that eunchae is a minor and hybe has been making the choreo and outfits not very "appropiate" for a minor especially one who's going to be performing on a stage. i'm not a fan of this "showing your underwear" trend, although i think (g)i-dle did change my mind, but on eunchae it wasn't preferable. i do also not like this new comeback because it was very different from their "usual" sound, although easy did grow on me. i just think hybe needs to calm down on the slight sexual moves and outfits at least until eunchae's birthday on november 10th.

Do you have a video with their live shows when they sing live ? Please don't link those videos with the background music removed by some ML algorithm instead of using the live microphone tracks.

I'm sorry but hating LE SSERAFIM for revealing outfits and inappropriate choreo's while male idols oversexualize female choreo's to make it more mainly is just unfair and disgusting once they are all legal age of 18 I really wanna know if people still hate them for it then it's just a prove female idols are hated for anything they while male idols get away with it

Netizens are worried about cultural appropriation of the black community?!?! The entirety of kpop itself stole from the black community, it wasn't like it was before when it started but it still fucking bad till this day. So they need to stfu thinking they know what's being cultural appropriating or not.
