I made a similar point in another video. In fact the implication is that trans people feel that they are being disadvantaged by being forced to compete against men when they define themselves as women. Disadvantaged people should have a category they can compete in for the Paralympics. Then maybe all the trans swimmers can compete against each other, for example. That seems fair to me.

You would disqualify athelets using drug induced stimulants as having an unfair advantage, but would allow a biologically male athelete compete against biologically women atheletes? IF the argument here is that biological women are at such an enormous disadvantage, then why is Ledecky SO much faster than Thomas? Furthermore, Thomas doesn't even break into the top ten fastest 500 yd women's freestyle times. This means that, in addition to Ledecky, there are nine other biological women with times faster than Thomas in that event. Also, Thomas got 5th in the 200 free (four biological women beat her in that event) and 8th place in 100 free (7 other women beat her in that event). The issue I have with this framing is that the ONLY thing that is ever mentioned on the opposite side of the argument is Thomas' win in the 500 yd free. SURELY, her losses matter and SURELY her times relative to the best female swimmers in the world also matter? The argument postulated here is that there is an absolute advantage that all men share when competing against all women. The issue I take with this argument is 1) The data in this example isn't supporting the claim. The top female swimmers in each event can out swim Thomas. 2) It cherry picks ONE example to make an absolute truth claim. This is the least scientific method possible for supporting a truth claim. I've found this trend everywhere I see this discussion. There are like 3 or 4 examples cited as to why EVERY trans woman should be banned from ALL sports. Okay, but why would one result in swimming dictate participatory requirements in a sport like tennis? Those events have absolutely nothing to do with one another. 3) There is a false narrative that Thomas was a "mediocre swimmer" that transitioned specifically to excel in female sports. Except, again, the data doesn't support it. Thomas was in the top 5% of male swimmers in the NCAA (there were 11,000 male swimmers in the NCAA when that ranking was released). 500th place is in the top 5%. That is exceptional in any other category.

And it gets better. International Track and Field has changed it's own rules to ban a woman from competing as a woman. This athlete from Africa was born and raised as a female, all birth and medical records state she is female.The IAAF rules she cannot compete in her chosen distance, the shorter sprite distances because of her natural hormone levels. First they tried to ban her, claiming she was not a female, when the medical records were provided they tried to claim she was inter-sexed, also shown to be wrong. This lady was born with higher than normal testosterone levels, which although an advantage is no different then if she was born with legs longer than most other women. IAAF then decided they would not let her compete unless she took a drug cocktail to alter her hormones. When the Court of Arbitration rules against IAAF and tossed that set of rules, created to disadvantage a single person, the IAAF then changed the rules for shorter distances, again in an effort to disadvantage the person. This group is going nuts trying to ban a person from a sport they are qualified to race in, due to the organizations own belief that her natural born advantage should ban her, while not banning athletics who happen to be taller than average and the advantage that provided them, or any other naturally born advantage, such as larger capacity lungs. At the same time, the organization that governs aquatic in the US is changing it's rules so that any man can walk in one season as a male and the next season as a female. This is not the same as changing what country a person competes for. It is also not the same as one who has spent years in the transition period, no medical or hormonal treatments to change genders even. This a person who ranked low at the end of one season and then walks in at the start of the next season, a couple of months later, and claims...oh I now believe I an female so I want to compete as such and the organizes say hell ya go for it, WE now say you qualify as and can compete as a female swimmer. World Aquatics has set about laying down a system that would work equally for all: people born male can compete as a female as long as they have never started puberty as a male, so never received the advantage from male hormone boosts during puberty. If they transitioned after the on set of puberty, they have set up a new category where either men, woman or those who have or are transitioning can compete.....sounds like a fair way to go about including everyone without giving unnatural advantages or removing natural born advantages. Guess that makes too much sense to some people.

In fact the implication is that trans people feel that they are being disadvantaged by being forced to compete against men when they define themselves as women. Disadvantaged people should have a category they can compete in for the Paralympics. Then maybe all the trans swimmers can compete against each other, for example. That seems fair to me.

IF the argument here is that biological women are at such an enormous disadvantage, then why is Ledecky SO much faster than Thomas? Furthermore, Thomas doesn't even break into the top ten fastest 500 yd women's freestyle times. This means that, in addition to Ledecky, there are nine other biological women with times faster than Thomas in that event. Also, Thomas got 5th in the 200 free (four biological women beat her in that event) and 8th place in 100 free (7 other women beat her in that event). The issue I have with this framing is that the ONLY thing that is ever mentioned on the opposite side of the argument is Thomas' win in the 500 yd free. SURELY, her losses matter and SURELY her times relative to the best female swimmers in the world also matter? The argument postulated here is that there is an absolute advantage that all men share when competing against all women. The issue I take with this argument is 1) The data in this example isn't supporting the claim. The top female swimmers in each event can out swim Thomas. 2) It cherry picks ONE example to make an absolute truth claim. This is the least scientific method possible for supporting a truth claim. I've found this trend everywhere I see this discussion. There are like 3 or 4 examples cited as to why EVERY trans woman should be banned from ALL sports. Okay, but why would one result in swimming dictate participatory requirements in a sport like tennis? Those events have absolutely nothing to do with one another. 3) There is a false narrative that Thomas was a "mediocre swimmer" that transitioned specifically to excel in female sports. Except, again, the data doesn't support it. Thomas was in the top 5% of male swimmers in the NCAA (there were 11,000 male swimmers in the NCAA when that ranking was released). 500th place is in the top 5%. That is exceptional in any other category.
The fact that we have to waste time, energy, and money discussing this absurdity is nuts.

Time for officials to wake up & defend the biological female athletes to achieve what they trained for!
And it gets better. International Track and Field has changed it's own rules to ban a woman from competing as a woman. This athlete from Africa was born and raised as a female, all birth and medical records state she is female.The IAAF rules she cannot compete in her chosen distance, the shorter sprite distances because of her natural hormone levels. First they tried to ban her, claiming she was not a female, when the medical records were provided they tried to claim she was inter-sexed, also shown to be wrong. This lady was born with higher than normal testosterone levels, which although an advantage is no different then if she was born with legs longer than most other women. IAAF then decided they would not let her compete unless she took a drug cocktail to alter her hormones. When the Court of Arbitration rules against IAAF and tossed that set of rules, created to disadvantage a single person, the IAAF then changed the rules for shorter distances, again in an effort to disadvantage the person. This group is going nuts trying to ban a person from a sport they are qualified to race in, due to the organizations own belief that her natural born advantage should ban her, while not banning athletics who happen to be taller than average and the advantage that provided them, or any other naturally born advantage, such as larger capacity lungs. At the same time, the organization that governs aquatic in the US is changing it's rules so that any man can walk in one season as a male and the next season as a female. This is not the same as changing what country a person competes for. It is also not the same as one who has spent years in the transition period, no medical or hormonal treatments to change genders even. This a person who ranked low at the end of one season and then walks in at the start of the next season, a couple of months later, and claims...oh I now believe I an female so I want to compete as such and the organizes say hell ya go for it, WE now say you qualify as and can compete as a female swimmer. World Aquatics has set about laying down a system that would work equally for all: people born male can compete as a female as long as they have never started puberty as a male, so never received the advantage from male hormone boosts during puberty. If they transitioned after the on set of puberty, they have set up a new category where either men, woman or those who have or are transitioning can compete.....sounds like a fair way to go about including everyone without giving unnatural advantages or removing natural born advantages. Guess that makes too much sense to some people.

I get everyone is different but they need there own division, cause it's taking away from years of hard work from young women.
He can compete with men. Women have been doing that for years fighting to get equality in sports! Letting hes compete with shes is a major step backwards for women sports progress and a slap in the face to all the girls and women who have fought for this and enduring the insults from the ignorant along the way!

I'm sorry, "destroy"? Paige Madden (biological woman) holds the pool record at the same natatorium Lia Thomas won her 500 yd free event. Madden's time is faster than Thomas. Thomas won that event by 1.75 seconds. If you think that is "destroying" the competition, Katie Ledecky's (another biological female) 500 freestyle time is NINE seconds faster than Thomas. NINE seconds. Where is the outrage at Ledecky? Clearly she has some sort of freakish physical advantage, because not only is she destroying Thomas but she's also destroying all of those other women that have worked so hard to achieve greatness. Surely we should ban Ledecky from swimming, right? Also, Thomas got 5th in the 200 free (beaten by 4 biological women) and 8th in the 100 free (Beaten by 7 biological women). I don't find any of these results to be convincing evidence of some overwhelming dominance by trans women swimmers. Furthermore, why would results in swimming be relevant to any other sport? Why would a trans woman victory in swimming determine the outcomes of transwomen participation in a team sport like basketball?

The best of women are better than average men. It's just incidental that Thomas is average at best, and yet is trying to claim the title of one of the best women.
Allowing this leaves the door open for actually good males to come across and set unobtainable records... like what happened in power lifting. To protest the trans person that entered the women's league and slaughtered the competition, before insulting women by asking why they are so shit at bench, a top lifter decided to declare they were trans and set unattainable records that even they could not reach. They proceeded to tantrum like, a little girl. And that was the closest to being an actual female they could ever become.
