Hi teppasit9, Si Nuon came from Khmer flower of Chek Nuon. This is a Khmer original song named Suon Bopha means the garden of flower, so to call Si Nuon from Chek Nuon flower is not far from Suon Bopha. You can listen to the Apsara song where it says pick flower and give flower to Princess, so both sound the same.

Due to bigger population than the Khmer people of ancient Angkor. The kingdom combined their tribal language from southern China with ancient Khmer language. Today the territories in Thailand can still speak Khmer and retain traditional Khmer culture is Surin, Buriram and Sisakhet provinces. So we Khmer were your breeders of fine musicians in Thai music today..!!

I've played with Sorovong and , this is Si Noun in Khmer and might be similar to Thai. All pin peats originated in it true Angkor Wat, over the years, it seem to lost it originality and variations. variation played are a combo of phnom penh and thai style which tend to be a little fast beat in compare to siem reap style, which more subtle/relax. there's a kru in wa.dc, said his teacher was thai which he learned from khmer teacher. as u can see a couple of decades gone by could easily be lost.

and the last one Christy Gibson, she told that this song's cambodian.
everyone know that cambodian's song from language, costume
and she sing in cambodian language too.
you can search "Chnam mun en khmer surin - Kuen Lap Fah - Christy Gibson"
she told that this from cambodia's song, isn't she ?
but many (copy) cambodia's songs don't tell other how can they from, right ?
    .
so, have you have another one ?

This is not Thai, this is Khmer called
Suon Bopha means Garden of flower
It can be performed in Pin Peat Orchestra for the Apsara dance or can be performed in Mahori Orchestra for the ambiance.
Its not possible for Khmer to learn from Thai because there is no Thai living in Cambodia but there are million of Khmer living in Thailand which was part of the former Khmer Empire land. Thai came to live with Khmer in Khmer Empire land, so Thai learnt from Khmer and changed to Thai name.

Thai didn't copy us Khmer, their musician masters of this music were Khmers. Ayuthyia and Sukothai was ruled by Khmer royal family lineage from the Angkorian Empire. When these kings formed alliance with the Mongols then started attacking the Angkorian Empire for independence. Jayavarman 7th gave them independence but they were still very ambitious and greedy till today. The royal families adopted the new language for Thai people in 16th century.

    • @TheCambodianHistoryGuy_English

Wow, they didn't even need to copy. They just have to change the name, and add some parts of their cultures to look a little bit different.

In the past, Khmer Empire land didn't mean only Cambodia.
but including a part of Thai, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam too !
so we have some similarly of culture, music, food, language, etc.
and don't present that you are Khmer,
because in fact that you're Cambodian. It's the true.
Khmer is so civilization but I don't know how Cambodia is.
why Cambodian have to copy about foreign music (modern) like america, korea, etc.
including the same music video, tempo, costume, looks ?

  • @myosotid
    @myosotid 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @KhmerCivilization
Do you know the million of Khmer that you said come to Thai for what ?
All most of them came into Thai to work for their life !
such as laborer, maid, beggar etc. Do you understand what I want to say ?
If your country better than mine, why did the million of you want to come or immigrate into Thai huh ?
or the million of cambodian unhappy when they live in their country ?
so Cambodia don't have any Thai people because it's not much pleasant to live, isn't it ?
    Thanks :)

wowwww, something that you said may be means yours !
"You don't see Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia and Vietnam claimed Khmer culture as theirs only Cambodia keep claiming Khmer culture as Cambodia."
Isn't right ? hahaha (for fun, don't be angry)
    ;p
I never seen Thai told another country "It's mine, It's mine ! UNESCO, This is minee~"
until cambodia started to keep it only cambodia's.
and after that, Thais come to resist.
    I'm right, isn't it ? please check.
    Thanks.

Man, Khmer is Cambodian right? We tried to tell others that we influenced them, but they won't accept the fact. Then we started getting verbal, and then they said we are claiming stuff like idiots.

Khmer Empire ruled the land of Thai, Laos, part of Myanmar, part of Malaysia and part of Vietnam. Wherever Khmer temples stand today where the land of Khmer people belonged. You don't see Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia and Vietnam claimed Khmer culture as theirs only Thai keep claiming Khmer culture as Thai. Go reading UNESCO website about Cambodia watching Khmer culture listing as the world heritage.

  • @KhmerCivilization

It's called copy not cover. They are not Cambodian, they are American and everyone knows because they gave credit to Cambodian. Thai never give credit to Cambodian when Thai copied Cambodian and that's why you don’t know. Cambodian people today live every where around the world especially in USA, they brought American culture to Cambodia. Thailand copied American culture and think Cambodian copied from Thai but in fact Thai copied American.

American copied Cambodian Champa Battembong sing and speak Cambodian. Korean copied Cambodian Sun Set and that more than one you asking. American, Korean and Christy Gibson is Thai originated Dutch gave credit to Khmer but Thai never gave credit to Khmer when Thai copied Khmer culture just like this Khmer Roneat EK.

From 1780 - 1867, Khmer royal court, which had had no dance and music culture left anymore, begged Thai royal court to send them some Thai art teachers because they wanted to "RESTART" royal arts to become live in their court again. Thai royal court felt very glad that its colony would like to have Thai arts, so, send some dance and music teachers to Khmer court as they requested. Therefore, the so-called royal Khmer dances, Lakhon (Khon) or music are all copied from Thai

Southeast Asia was a home of Khmer people, Thai were kicked out of Tailand in Nanchao by the Mongol and they became the slaves of Khmerpeople and they copied Khmer culture since then. Watch video on my channel Thai copied even Khmer Angkor Wat for Thai royal palace today.
