Please people don't fight. Both of you are so beautiful and it will be a loss if both your cultures are no more. Thank you for preserving all your culture. It is so beautiful.
Thank you for still being here. Your endurance is testifying. This is the first TH-cam video I ever watched and it filled me with wonder more than you can imagine.
This dance and music is simply amazing...I have been listening to this music for many days and never got bored of it. Beautiful history and culture and an equally elegant dance style...Someday I'd want to visit the Angkor Vat.
Sorry to say all of Thailand except for Siam was once Cambodia, we lost it in the 1900's. The only part of the land that we got back was all of Battambang in 1953. My great grandpa and grandfather was in that war. Thanks for sharing.
My dance teacher was one of the survivors.. She said that she saw the other dancers getting killed.. And I'm Khmer although I don't speak it that well because I was born in america. Nice job on the dance though. These people did WAY better than I did. Flexibility counts the most. >_
Just discovered this TH-cam channel. Sad there are no news videos uploaded. But looks like very authentic Khmer culture. My mom and dad are cambodian and we are living in France. I have never be influence by Khmer culture because it's very rare to hear music, have books etc...
Yes... The dancer and dances from this channel is very good. But there are so many more new videos of Robam Khmer all over TH-cam now. It's good to see...
@@souldancersbyjennifer oooh ok i didn't know the term. Never heard of it before, I'm sorry. Thank u for telling me. I really don't know much about Khmer culture even though my parents are Khmer.
I'm not interested in arguing the way all these weird, negative people are arguing on here. This is an awesome Khmer dance and the accompanying music is beautiful. I love Hanuman!! He's such a cool hero in the mythology of both Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent. That's all that matters here. No need to post nasty, intentially inflammatory comments about Khmer vs. Thai or Indian vs. Khmer blah blah blah. Just enjoy the beauty of this video and be positive, and spread positivity=)
This is still my favourite performance. Both of them are so good, she's so beautiful, and the dance is so lovely. The music too... love these traditional singing so much...
What does he say to her? HOw does he get her to like him? This dance is exquisitely preposterous-- he's a monkey, and pretty rude in his manners but wonderful in his heart, and she sees that and accepts his eccentricities. So poetic and beautiful. I've heard that this is a classic dance-- is it truly hundreds of years old, the choreography?
In fact it is a part of Ramayana's story-- Hanuman is one of Preah Rama's bodyguards. Hanuman met a mermaid on one of the journeys for Preah Rama-- he is courting her in this dance.
im thai and a thai dancer and i agree that our goverment is wack! I know this is politics and stuff but can't we all stop fighting? I do appreciate traditional khmer dancing! I love thai dancing and i do think that are traditional dancing are quite almost the same! khmer dancing and thai are quite different by the hand movements, design of costume, and etc. I'm just saying that thai people and khmer people should stop fighting. we're all here to enjoy the video right?(:
beautiful, graceful. I find a lot of similarities with Indian classical dance as well. The dance form is so graceful, expressive. The dancers in this video are very talented indeed. Love and regards from India
I have seen both Thai classical dance and Khmer Apsara dance, both are very nice but , I find more Apsara dance more artistic and more religious in nature.
This story comes from the Ramayana in India and this story appeared in Southeast Asia is also so it's normal to have almost the same dance. You have to read a bit before speaking!

@5282A Depending on the methods of counting, three hundred[1] to as many as thousands of versions of the Indian epic poem the Ramayana are known to exist. The oldest version is generally recognized to be the Sanskrit version attributed to the sage Valmiki.
We never changed our country name. Kampuchea is always Kampuchea. Cambodia is English revered from Khmer Kampuchea and in Sanskrit is Kambuja. Our Khmer Kings were origin Indian from Kalinga and from Kambodja
I know how it's written in Khmer but Reamke/reamker is Khmer version of Ramayana, Indian epic. We adopted Hindu religion from India and the story came with the religion but we did not adopt the caste system. Ramayana was part Khmer royal court epic and it was performed in the royal court since ancient time. You can also see the carving of the churning milk at Angkor Wat. It tells the tale of how the world was created according to Hindu.
And for more information, If u have a chance to come here in Bangkok, u'll find a lot of Khmer baggers holding the baby and looking for mercifulness at the flyovers around the city. In addition, most of babies were kidnaped by Khmer gang from the country or boder provinces and come to Bangkok. We can't do anything because if we catch them and send them back to Cambodia, they'll pass the border and return to that career ..
