I don't know about the GNX because I never driven one. I drove an 87 GN and the damn thing seem to pull harder in 2nd gear than in 1st. I later read the turbo make more boost in 2nd gear. That explain what I felt back in 1992. I bought a new 2016 F150 with the 2.7 twin turbo v6 because I could not afford an 87 GN new when I was 16. I love a 6 cylinder turbo.
Amazing story and beautiful car! I love them I’m on my 3rd. I totaled my first one back in 2020 I had it for 10 years it was a 700 hp car. I then bought GNX 525 had it for it two years sold it through Bullet Motor Sports last year who is an Awesome Company by the way. I bought another Grand National and now enjoying it. I do like the 2nd set of rims you had on there, they kinda look like CCWs. If you still have them are they for sale? Again beautiful car love the story.
i sold them, they were Avant Garde F140's with Michelin Pilot PS2's, It was a go-cart with those ,so much so, the seat belts became useless, it wanted to throw you out of either side.
11.20@120mph footbrake no boost launching. It'll go 10.20@135mph once i tighten some things up. They were shake down passes. The full vid's on my channel. I had to go on track rental day, no roll cage, the cut -off is 11.4, so I'm illegal at the track,heheheh
@YoudSayOmg that's great that's all you need for the street to beat most everything and still have a dependable running car, no sence putting everything into it and whoop on it just for beating a car, you want the car to last with out breaking it or always having to wrench on it.
I know what that car is and love them, but I would make the engine two cylinders longer, nice little Buick 350 with fuel injection and a turbo would be killer, i know its fadt the way it is, but could you imagine
Just install stage 2 indy v6. Good to about 2000hp. Mercedes used a variation of this in their race cars and was astounded at the amount of abuse the buick indy v6 could take.
This is a tribute clone. A Real Buick Grand National but not a real GNX. The car looks good after its trip to the body shop but it lost value with all the aftermarket upgrades and frame narrowing in the rear. Enjoy your car as I wouldn't mind having it either..

more are crashed or turned into race cars, No matter how you store a grand national, its plastic, rubber parts an wiring is toast. Put the oil recommend on the sunviser in it, its also toast. The Cash for Clunkers program took many to. My cars on its second life, but this time, modernized to last forever.
