    Looking forward to seeing how your build goes. Building cars is fun. I am several years into building a 70 Camaro, LSX engine, Speedtech suspension, mini tubs, tunnel work, quarters, tail panel, trunk drops, firewall etc. Finally through most of the metal work and starting to reassemble. They sure take a lot of work but worth it all the way. Good luck!

    I absolutely CANNOT WAIT for this series, I'm doing something similar with a 1969 Pontiac Acadian I dragged out of a field and got the small block running, but I got an aluminum 5.3 and nitrous for it. Going to keep mine carbureted though

    Come on, put an old school motor in it and a manual. Everybody puts those overrated junk yard motors in them and ruins the purpose of having a classic car

      I’m glad that technology has come around were you can restore these cars with the new technology, old school is what it is limited horse power, bad suspension, we can now enjoy these cars as new,these LS motors are unbelievable in what you can do with them, totally more dependable, there just more computer based which is a good thing, as far as injectors and electronic ignition, I was hating on em at first, till I got to understand them their actually easy to work on, an I’m 61 yrs old an always had a fascination with wiring, just my two cents on these LS based motors, anyone I know that has actually done an LS swap right, loves em

    • @mikewozawski1634
      @mikewozawski1634 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree but at the same time cost money to build and maintain those motors.

    • @thruitallauto2538
      @thruitallauto2538 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@mikewozawski1634 not really, I’ve done them both the first initial start may be a little more with the wiring harness and computer , but I’ve had no problems out of mine, but even, their still worth the dependability they have don’t know if you have ever done any research on the 5.3, 6.0 blocks, but their very impressive cylinder walls is so much thicker for boring out, a lot of stuff to consider, there heads have a high rate of flow,way more than you can get out of a set of stock old school heads, I mean as far as money goes they are probably a little more pricey than old school ,but for what ya get out of it ,it’s worth it,

    Doesn't patina still rust under the clear coat? Never understood the point of it.

    • @smo-guiver8315
      @smo-guiver8315 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Rust requires three chemicals in order to form: iron, oxygen, and water. The clear coat cuts out the supply of oxygen and moisture to continue the chemical reaction process of rusting.

    Does the 4L60-E transmission require a different crossmember-not sure why you said you weren't going to need the stock one? I have a 4L60E from a wrecked '96 collector's edition Corvette that is in the garage next to my '69 Camaro RS convertible (the Camaro is matching numbers 327 automatic, except for the TH350 that's now in it). The tranny swap has been a project that I have been waiting for several years to start because I haven't figured out the best way to make it shift, so as much detail as you can give on that particular part of the build will be appreciated!

    I’m a newcomer to channel but your project makes me see that I may have overdone my own 69. I’m waiting on engine now. It’s a plain coupe. Was a v8 powerglide on the column. Will have 496, 400, 12 bolt. I replaced front fenders (mistake), 1 door shell, door skin, quarters from the top line and patched floors. Overall it was better than yours underneath. I’m ready to see yours come together.

    Great channel bro. I have what appears to be a factory tuxedo black 69 Camaro body that came with dual exhaust as it does have the plate on the frame rail but the vin and trim tags are missing. Just wondering if you have any ideas of how I could get it registered and back on the road? It does still have the hidden vin and I believe it could be a valuable car

    Backyard Barn Finds Hello Friend that Chevrolet Camaro, with the vinyl top roof that was trapping the moisture in the first place , that was causing it to rust out which is a another reason i never like vinyl top cars because of that major problem !! So are your going to fix all the metal work on the roof and treat it with some type of rust protective and coat it , first before you put another vinyl top on it so , the same problems don't come back again for the roof !! Just want to know your process on it !!!

    • @smo-guiver8315
      @smo-guiver8315 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The car has no existing drivetrain, so its not as if the collectability is going to be a factor either way. So for a driver, I would opt for economy and reliability of a modern powerplant, sans the emissions junk.
