He’s known as Sifu or Master Siow - and is a master in the craft of making the heads used in lion dances, as well as teaching lion dancing around the world. He started out making lion heads for his own use, but he has built a reputation for producing top-quality lion heads that are in demand internationally, including in the birthplace of lion dancing, China. Rian Maelzer visited Siow’s workshop in Kuala Lumpur.
