Well, LG lied about 2.1 hdmi in 2020 cx. Lg downgraded 2.1 hdmi from 48 gbit to 40 gbit. So no 12-bit gaming. Therefore lg c9 (2019) is the best from lg
Nice review. I'm getting one - rather, had a choice to get - after a previous one broke down. Seems like I might just stick with the old broken one then if this is that bad
Review isn't really fair. You get what you pay for. The 85" in this tv is only $1500. If you want all those features (eg. Higher refresh rate etc) be ready to pay up well over $3000 for the same size.
Exactly. Where I'm from the 55" is 850$. Looking at reviews I was like "maybe I should check for better TVs". But seeing that "better" 55" TVs were like 1400-2500$ (literally no in between), do I really want to dump twice the price for slightly better anything? Especially considering those TVs probably won't last 10-15 years like they used to be. So I've ordered it. Can't be disappointed since my older tv is a fossil compared to this one lol
@@ChrisOkw absolutely! Looks great, sounds great, only thing is the back panel doesn't look sturdy (when I press on outputs they easily move to the inside) but it doesn't seem to bother.
There was a point in time where you purchased a single TV and it lasted you for the next 15 years. We didn't have to upgrade our TV like our phones every couple of years.
I was thinking the same thing. A good TV used to be a pricey invesrment. Still not cheap, but a lot less expensive than, say, a $1200 phone that some people keep for 6 months. In 2001, I bought a 36" Sony Trinitron 4:3 television for $1000. I just picked up this Samsung 55" UHD for $450. The Trinitron weighed 300 pounds, the Samsung weighs about 50.
Everytime I go to rtings for review, I always find my specific choice of monitor/tv as disappointing according to them. But after actually using them myself I always find them rather not bad as their very technical reviews are saying. Sometimes don’t rely too much on technical reviews. Their reviews are very useful nonetheless.
Yeah, reviews be like McDonald 2$ burger isn't worh it compared to (add anything)'s 5$ burger because it has a bit more ketchup only to find out McDonald's burger has plenty of ketchup, just less lol
Like others have mentioned. Love the detail and honesty. Was able to get this tv at a great price so will be keeping it, definitely would not close to full price. Subscribed to show support.
i love your review man but this is kinda tricky and misleading. you comparing 2 tv's with a big price gap in between, so what can you expect?. you must compare it to other brand with the same price range.
I originally bought the nu6900 50 inch and it SUCKED. The picture on hdmi was muddy and grayish and not very bright. Also no upscale to 4k. Took it back and spent 120 more and got the tu8000 50 inch. Night and day different. 4k upscale even on converted blu ray to mp4 files was AMAZING. It was almost like the cheap 6900 was lacking features on purpose to get you to buy better. The return rate according to my local best buy on the 6900 series is ridiculous.
TU8000 paying a higher cost for the panel (6000:1 contrast) and looks like had to cut cost in motion handling and using a cheaper version of dynamic color contrast film. Samsung lack of replacement slot for RU8000 for the 2020 is a bad move for consumer. But at the end of the day something that probably doesn't really affect their bottom line. They still sell a ton of tvs and half of the consumers don't know the difference between 60hz vs 120hz refresh rate etc.
In Oz and just bought the 2019 RU8000 on a super sale price. Very pleased especially for gaming, but overall just a very good TV. Until HDR is better implemented I can't get excited about paying for a TV with that moving target, and happy to compromise in that regard for whatever seldom max potential I may miss out on. The 2020 version would be a pass from me. The only (small) criticism of the RU8000 is that in Bluetooth mode my GoogleHome Max sound stutters streaming 4K. This maybe a streaming quality thing as we are just getting higher streaming rates (they downgraded the old ADSL which was fine if they had left it alone). Maybe that will fix that but so does optical out via DAC anyway. Generally sound is fine straight out of the TV but I am not a movie buff looking for bass-heavy ends in the mix........... Samsung want to be carefull as this is a highly contested part of the market for people not so interested in sitting in a pitch black room for the 4K Blu Ray disc watch or can't afford it even if their interest.
Great review. How is the tu8500 to ru8000, especially with motion handling? Motion handling is the most important thing for me. I would like a smooth experience in 24p movies, 60 fps and 120fps movies from youtube, smooth pano shots, variable refresh rate for gaming etc. Is it good or better than any of the ru8000? Thank you!
I literally just bought this tv, like 10 minutes ago, and now I feel like I made a bad choice. I'm positive all of the advertisements for the specs said that this was 120 hertz refresh rate.
It's a solid tv. The biggest issue is hdr but honestly there's not a lot of tvs near this price range that excels at it without compromising everything else. For ex the hisense h9g has really bright hdr and a 120hz native panel but it completely sucks at upscaling. There's also an lg and vizio around the same price with roughly the same problems. Also you're thinking of 120hz motion interpolation. It's not the same as a native 120hz panel.
sadly people still buy. Samsung interface, color engineering, sound output to speakers/soundbar, design and name brand sway people to buy it. Many don't care about 60hz or 120hz when watching regular tv either
RTings, could you “please” tell me a good 50” TV you would recommend (I’m not a gamer). We don’t buy a tv often. The ones we have now are 10 years old (yea I know anything made today would be an improvement ... haha) was looking at this review but after seeing it am curious what you would recommend for great quality and durability in a 50” (big enough for us and won’t be wall mounted. Thank you very much for your help!!
I asked a Representative on Samsung page and it states also in specs that the Tvs has a 120hz refresh rate ,I'm i missing something ? Also why no Mention of the 85" which i ordered
Yeah, I purchased the the RU8000 as the first Smart Tv as my old Samsung was working fine. I really enjoyed the RU8000 untill my two year old broke it. Went in and bought the Q60 which was supposed to be a step above but was such a big disappointment compared with the RU8000. The quality of the picture when watching basketball was actually closer to my 10 year-old Samsung than to the RU8000. I ended up returning the Q60 and was looking into purchasing the TU8000 but now I am not sure... Can't believe that an older cheaper TV would be better than a current more expensive one....
Hi I've bought this model here in India, the 43 inch variant and I've been using it for 2 months now. Despite the judder reduction set at the maximum of 10. The judder is so high, making it impossible to view any kind of fast motion including action scenes and live sports. Terrible experience with this variant. Open to any solutions too!
Just got it and the picture quality it’s really good for you budget TV the only thing that I don’t like about it is that for gaming my field of view is a little bit too close and I don’t know if there’s a setting to change that
I have the 50 in. The colors are sometimes dull, and everything becomes dark sometimes. When on game mode it has to be adjusted with the jutter . I completely agree witht the HDR peak brightness and color gamut .Overall for 400 dollars it's a good deal. I
I have been buying Samsung TV's for years. And that's about to change with route they are taking. They have been down grading their TV line ups. Thats why I went with the TCL R625, it's hands down the best value you can get in a TV because it's loaded with incredible features that's TV's have that's cost hundreds of dollars more. The picture on the R625 is mind blowing.
Does this TV offer a Turn On feature? It's just like the sleep timer but allows you to choose a time to turn your TV on instead. I loved the feature and miss my previous 7 series Samsung 4K Smart TV that I could setup to turn on at a certain time in the morning. Thanks in advance, hoping this series does offer it.
Ok so my question is what's the best tv to buy now around this price range that stacks up better than this? Movie viewing and some gaming but mainly using it for movies and local tv
We've retested the viewing angle and the 30-degree anomaly is no longer present. It was likely affected by an external light source during testing.

Thanks for keeping it real... waiting for the CX reviews... if there's ANY way LG made the screen not be a mirror, I'll be buying it...
Well, LG lied about 2.1 hdmi in 2020 cx. Lg downgraded 2.1 hdmi from 48 gbit to 40 gbit. So no 12-bit gaming. Therefore lg c9 (2019) is the best from lg
TU8500 Please!!, we need that review, is a much better tv than the TU8000
Can you tell me what makes the 8500 that much better than the 8000?
This channel is TOP 5 on youtube for me! Have yet to watch a review that did not answer any question I have had on a piece of Tech.
I just bought the 50 inch model on amazon for my PS5 can’t wait 😊
I bought it too, for ps5 its pretty nice
@AssassinFreak2030 what do u mean
@AssassinFreak2030 it is 4k
@AssassinFreak2030 oh i don’t really know much about tv’s tbh, all i know is my tv is 4k uhd
@AssassinFreak2030 it has good upscaling. I have tu8000 and 1080 p movies look like 4k
Nice review. I'm getting one - rather, had a choice to get - after a previous one broke down.
Seems like I might just stick with the old broken one then if this is that bad
Do u have a review on the TU8500
Man this review is gold and hell he is diamond 🔥💯
Lol! Watching this review after buying this tv. I'm picking it up tomorrow.
Me too. lol
And do you like it?
I just ordered the 75” it will be here this Saturday 😊
@@powermetaladdict are you enjoying the tv?
@@ChrisOkw absolutely! Looks great, sounds great, only thing is the back panel doesn't look sturdy (when I press on outputs they easily move to the inside) but it doesn't seem to bother.
@@powermetaladdict love that. guess i’ll be getting one too. hopefully the inputs won’t be too much of a bother 🤞
There was a point in time where you purchased a single TV and it lasted you for the next 15 years. We didn't have to upgrade our TV like our phones every couple of years.
Ive had my Samsung 65" screen 10 years.
Can you please do a review on Samsung TU8500 or TU8507?
Prajwal Pr I’m waiting for this as well. Would like to know what the tu8500 is like as it’s duel leds and brighter, but £ 200 more for the tu8500
Like others have mentioned. Love the detail and honesty. Was able to get this tv at a great price so will be keeping it, definitely would not close to full price. Subscribed to show support.
We love to hear that! We're glad your happy and we appreciate your support :)
i love your review man but this is kinda tricky and misleading. you comparing 2 tv's with a big price gap in between, so what can you expect?. you must compare it to other brand with the same price range.
yes agreed
I originally bought the nu6900 50 inch and it SUCKED. The picture on hdmi was muddy and grayish and not very bright. Also no upscale to 4k. Took it back and spent 120 more and got the tu8000 50 inch. Night and day different. 4k upscale even on converted blu ray to mp4 files was AMAZING. It was almost like the cheap 6900 was lacking features on purpose to get you to buy better. The return rate according to my local best buy on the 6900 series is ridiculous.
Hey, will you guys test the TU8500? Really waiting for it
TU 8570 - жду обзора и калибровки изображения.
Waiting my self, I know it has duel leds so will be brighter
TU8000 paying a higher cost for the panel (6000:1 contrast) and looks like had to cut cost in motion handling and using a cheaper version of dynamic color contrast film. Samsung lack of replacement slot for RU8000 for the 2020 is a bad move for consumer. But at the end of the day something that probably doesn't really affect their bottom line. They still sell a ton of tvs and half of the consumers don't know the difference between 60hz vs 120hz refresh rate etc.
Thanks, excelent review
Really dig the thorough & articulate review, but someone at Rtings should tell Nick's hands to stop speaking so cotdamn much!
Thank you!
I am so glad I picked up the NU8000 in 2018. Samsung's mid range tvs keep getting worse and worse.
Me too
Dumiso Siwawa Yep! Got the 2019 nu8000 49 inch a year ago on sale! Great design, great 📺!👍
I literally just bought this tv, like 10 minutes ago, and now I feel like I made a bad choice.
Thank you for saving my money.
Great review thank you!
I haven’t gotten a tv since 2012 lol, this looks like a fair price and upgrade? Any recommendations folks ?!
Did you buy it?..i just ordered it
@@blazerman61 how is it ? This tv might be it for me and my PS4 and ps5
This is how the TVs are reviewed. Phenomenal job man
Thanks for watching! :)
Please do a review of the TU 8500series !!!
Same shit.. 😂😂😂😂
yoyobecks same weak
Great video, thanks for the information!
It's almost like they don't want people to buy their TV's
They want them to buy their overpriced useless 8K TVs.
@@kaleidoscopeon Haha!
Like everyone has 12,000 dollars to spend on a TV....
It was the features that made me add it to my cart. - now I see I should probably keep looking.
sadly people still buy.

Samsung taking giant leaps backward, One Year at a time.
I asked a Representative on Samsung page and it states also in specs that the Tvs has a 120hz refresh rate ,I'm i missing something ? Also why no Mention of the 85" which i ordered
It has a 120Hz motion rate, which is double the actual refresh rate. The 85" model was added much later, a few months after we posted this video.
@@RTINGSdotcom thank you
Oh God, thanks dude i found ur video before i actually buy it.
Excellent review. Most reviews of this TV don't even mention the DSE problems which is a deal breaker for me (why is there still this issue?)
I'm honestly happy I picked up the RU8000 when I did. Samsung is really going downhill.
I went with QLED version of Samsung. Q80 is exceptionally excellent.
This is how a review should be done.
Waiting for a review of the tu8500 model I am undecided between it and the ru8000 model of 2019. Which is better ???
Samsung TV technology is declining every year.where is your R&D engineering?
Apparently marketing > R&D
Hi
I've bought this model here in India, the 43 inch variant and I've been using it for 2 months now.
Despite the judder reduction set at the maximum of 10. The judder is so high, making it impossible to view any kind of fast motion including action scenes and live sports.
Terrible experience with this variant. Open to any solutions too!
i am glad to have the nu8000 65in , thanks for the review
hi bro, need ur assistance,
which one do you prefer,
samsung tu8000 or lg un7300 .
thanks
I'm looking into the 43 inch model.
Keep looking
Hi, is there a big difference with TU8500 model? Is it worth spend additional 100$ for 8500 model? Thanks.
my wife told me that size matters so I chose an 82” TU700 (2020) over an 75” RU9000 i think im regretting after this vid. :/
"my wife told me that size matters"
Perhaps she wasn't talking about TV's?

Get the Q80R instead. I did and I'm quite pleased with it. It's a 55 inch screen.

The last decent Samsung TV with 8000 in it's name was the KS8000....if you lived in Europe.
I have the same opinion the KS model was very very good quality
I have been buying Samsung TV's for years. And that's about to change with route they are taking. They have been down grading their TV line ups. Thats why I went with the TCL R625, it's hands down the best value you can get in a TV because it's loaded with incredible features that's TV's have that's cost hundreds of dollars more. The picture on the R625 is mind blowing.

and a youtube premium pop up advertisment?
So detailed review thanks instantly subed....😍
It seems like Samsung really cheaped out this year.
Great Review! Thank you
I need a new tv for the ps5. I thought this was the one and almost bought it. Now I have to look for an even more expensive model.
I'm looking for one too, what's wrong with this one?
@@trill_tyler_1238 I don't remember. I don't think it's "future-proof." Anyway, I went and bought the lg cx 48". I think I'm good now.
Does this TV offer a Turn On feature? It's just like the sleep timer but allows you to choose a time to turn your TV on instead. I loved the feature and miss my previous 7 series Samsung 4K Smart TV that I could setup to turn on at a certain time in the morning. Thanks in advance, hoping this series does offer it.
the best 8 series of all time was 2016 ks line of suhd tvs
So, in the same range price wich is the best Samsung TV? 🤔

Are u disappointed for the TV or you had like it?... im thinking in buying it brand new for $420 but i want ti know if it worth it.
I cant believe that they ruined this tv so badly...worse peak brightness in both sdr and hdr, worse gray uniformity, no variable refresh rate...
Ok so my question is what's the best tv to buy now around this price range that stacks up better than this? Movie viewing and some gaming but mainly using it for movies and local tv
