i think nirvana's end was a big influence on Foo Fighters, I guess Dave wanted to make Kurt and Krist proud? or he just still had the passion for music and decided to take on the role of singing, writing and playing the main guitar in a band.
Before Nirvana ended Dave was saying he'd probably play some more but he thought he'd end up going back to school and getting a regular job anyway. Kurt's death definitely had some impact on him forming foos.
You can tell how much excitement he's holding back. Almost like the Nirvana organization forbid enthusiasm.

I think that is true. Dave would of still be with Nirvana, if Kurt never died.
Nirvana would've gone on hiatus if Kurt didn't die, 'cause he was tired of the fame anyway, and Dave would've made the Foos
