Just got confirmation from FX that the mini magazines (14 shots I think?) are actually a little deeper so will fit all 40gr slugs. Plus, they say they will be making the full size mags slightly deeper too👏🏼
a head slap this matt dubber
he has a slap in the face
HI MATT I REALLY APPRECIATE WHAT YOU DO FOR THIS AMAZING HOBBY OF OURS. 🎯🇬🇧✌🏼🤩
Great video. I would never consider a PCP without this channel walking me through how to configure it.
And I can't keep up with the FX release schedule. Almost bought a MKIII then they released the Panthera, making the MKIII obsolete for PRS, was getting ready to buy a Panthera now here comes this thing. I don't want to get a gun that's obsolete in a few months lol
the sound of that weapon with that musslebrake is just totally amazing! amazing, content! you got me in to airguns, bought an MK1 SN185 FX crown, im very happy with it
i have one question though, if you dont mind me asking. i have put a third gen Huma regulator in my crown, aswell as a Slug power kit with the high flow probe. do you think i have any chanses at 20 grain slugs out of the factory 177 cal, 1:18 liner? my question really is, what regulator pressure or rather what mussle velocity would you think i would have to aim for to be able to group well with slugs at 100 yards? im trying to tune for either NSA and ZAN 20 grains. thank you
Very interesting video. I really enjoy watching the details on how you set up an air rifle. Thank you for taking the time to share.
This is like Christmas morning haha thanks Matt
Big thanks for this video man! Really helpful, i bought the DRS Classis Walnut 700 .22 so this helps me alot on how to tune the rifle when i get to it.
Amazing bro
That was an awesome video
This was an epic series of videos. Could you do a similar set up/tune video for the panthera?
You'll be hard pressed to get this little amount of variances between shots with factory loaded center-fired cartridges. It really AMAZING the leaps and bounds that are happening in the air gun world thanks to you and others Matt, keep up the great work!! Now this part I'm just kidding you, but yah gotta learn how to pronounce aluminum, LOL 😁😂😂
Fx should make something upgrade kits for them older model, royale 500 and bobcat etc! It would be nice to customers and it will give respect to Fx. Everybody have not money buy 2000€ gun to change to shoot slugs and so on.
There is an aftermarket brass jam plate for the Dreamline hammer adjustment screw, maybe it fits the DRS because it looks the same. It prevents the hammer spring adjustment screw from backing out.
Just what I was thinking too. I also thought about not using turns to determine hammer setting and instead using the tail piece on calipers to measure for a more precise method.
We still have a raw product.
I see the following upgrades:
1
Installation of firing pin preload from Maverick or Wildcat-Mk3.
2
Make a port in the MDT chassis for adjusting the pressure of the regulator.
3
Isolate the barrel from high pressure with a carbon pipe.
Installed inside the reservoir. The barrel remains suspended in the pipe.
Super interesting video and the way in which the topic of weapon tuning is shown. It would be great to see the same thing with the Impact or Panthera, although it is surely the same method, but the set and hammer results are not.
Congratulations and slds from PCP Hunter Argentina
Ahh, spring tension like the good old days with Typhoon... :)
Great work mate! I love this kit, I'm def getting one of these one day. Thanks for your 2 part videos.
I'd love to see this gun compete with a rimfire in range and in accuracy. Maybe you could do such a vid this year, pls?
But anyway, keep it up!
Best Regards
Hey Matt, great video as always. The angle bracket for this gauge. Is that the same as the one on the FX impact?
Thanks!
Looks good. 910 airgun tunning & repair makes a brass locking nut for the dreamline maybe it will fit the drs?
Show 👏👏👏👍
❤❤❤❤
Mantaap
fantástico so falta e o achar esse gênio kkk sucesso que lis desejo fã de carteirinha aqui no Brasil 😊😊😊😊
You can get one hell of a 22lr for the cost of this, but I am lucky enough to live where you can own firearms
It’s always great to consider the privileges afforded by our rights in the US.
I own firearms too. But good luck finding decent rimfire ammo when the next frenzied panic buy begins😄
@@ryanpetersen8872well played, indeed.
Remind me again how much your .22 lr ammo cost? Also i bet you haven't seen what soft lead slugs can do.😅
Superb. Thank you! I have a Panthera Hunter Compact and Panthera 600, both in .22. My question is whether or not there is any latency between changes in hammer spring settings. i.e. When you change the hammer springs in or out is there a delay to to hammer spring "memory" or whatever or is the change immediate? Please answer as appro0priate for the Panthera Macro and Micro settings. I am in Connecticut USA and am retired and shoot every day, weather permitting, in my back yard at 50 yards for an hour or two, sometimes more. I also have a Maverick 600mm in .22 and .30, and several (too many) other PCPs but I love my FX guns SO much, I likely will get rid of most of the others. I am very happy and lucky not to have gotten an Impact and chose a Maverick at that time.
Man i can't wait for the impact m4, if they do it right it'll be a beast.
We all would love to have these guns but who has 3grand for a air gun, when you can get top line rim fire 1/3price.
you're looking at a top spec gun for competition, regular models are cheaper.
Honestly this is my biggest hang up, if suppressor regs weren’t such a pita in the US then I wouldn’t even look at airguns. I’ve always loved airguns and have been in the realm for many years, but the major drawback with them is the cost of performance.
@@markwarner.03 Ya really the only reason to shoot them is for legality issues on where it's being used over an actual firearm, easier to be suppressed/moderated, and for lower power levels on pests so there's less issue of pass through and damaging something behind your shot. At least in my opinion.
@@supergreatairgunreviews agreed. There is something to be said about tune ability of airguns and again been enamored with airguns for decades but at this point I’m just a bit bummed at what $3k buys. If FX did a DRS pro without a $1500+ chassis I’d be on board.
@@markwarner.03 Yeah the ability to tune for different pellet and slug weights, accuracy is really good for small game and pest control, where pcp guns shine. FX is definitely making some of the best airguns but I haven't pulled the trigger on one yet because my $250 pcp pretty much does all the pest control I need around my fruit trees on rats, squirrels, gophers. I guess I fall into the "poors" category but I think most people don't want to drop $1500+ on an airgun. If I buy anything else next it will probably be a snowpeak m60b which is like $600 but more tune able/shot count than my current pcp.
Wow!!! 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Will that carbon cylinder fit over my new 700mm FX Dynamic?
The empty shroud up front feels like a waste of space which can be used to store more air volume = more shots, after all... Most of us will use a moderator at the end of the barrel.
What an awesome idea that DRS!!!🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉
No it won’t, the two systems are completely different. It’s not an empty shroud by the way, it’s filled with air😉
@@AirArmsHuntingSA Thank you Matt🎉
👍
Good afternoon, you had time not to upload videos, greetings from Mexicali Baja California Mexico
@airarmshuntingsa it looks like the hammer tension on the rear is accessible what about the regulator can you access that with a ball allen key through the stock. I do feel that removing the stock to make changes will create wear and tear and a loosing the gun to stock mounting over time.
Absolutely love air rifles but I really wish one of you guy's on these forums would answer the biggest question I get from Rimfire shooter's? Why air rifles over Rimfire besides they are quiet ?
After they (the Rimfire shooter's) see the prices on what you need to get set up properly, they instantly get turned off. So why wouldn't you just buy a .22RF? No one on these forums can answer that question?
That's what these Rimfire shooter's want to know.
I dont seem to understand the drs pro… no external macro micro? But why? Fx panthera was outstanding but what happen to DRS? U have to remove the chassis to adjust hammer tension? No hate but i think im keeping my panthera as my pra comp gun.. fx drs pro looks bad ass though!
You don’t need to remove the chassis to adjust. And I agree the clickable adjuster is nice to have, but for this discipline you want to set your rifle up and then leave it, and anything on the outside that can get bumped can be a risk.
@@AirArmsHuntingSA they could have made it slimmer or lockable 😂😂 thats the reason why i ditched my AGT vulcan coz its pain in the 🍑 to adjust when looking for the slugs.. same as my maverick.. and the plenum is a tad bigger to m3.. panthera is 156cc and drs is only 73cc if im not mistaken.. hope u can visit us here in dubai matt.. hope to meet u in person bro! Followed u from crown mk1 to m3 and panthera.. 😂
Would be nice to have external adjustments. Think of shooting down there in South Africa at sea level, then coming up to RMAC high in the mountains. You will need to adjust to get the same performance. Same with extreme Temps, minor adjustments will need to be made. External adjustments are crucial for making things easy
@@woogieman02 exactly what im thinking as well.. slimmer profile/lockable to have a clear record on which how many turns etc etc easily adjustable but if the problem is “looks” then they could have engraved it black on the wheel so it wont be that much of noticeable.. anyways.. id stick on my panthera.. 😂 but the DRS PRO looks very tempting! 😂
If you get good results on your ideal slug being the 40g slug why would you go the the alloy tube thats heavyer and not your ideal slug?
40 grain 700 drs how many bar settings do you recommend?? thanks
Did I hear you say that the 3k gun will come with the aluminum tank and not carbon?
Hello, for the DRS PRO do you have to put the POWER KIT and change the hammer or FX they are all already installed?
Already installed
@@AirArmsHuntingSA wow ! Nice, thank 👍🏻😃
how manu shots per refill brother ?
I missed the reason why you are shooting it without the stock. I've read all the comments only to find you saying you can make the adjustments with the stock on.
I just didn’t have the stock yet. The stock got stuck at customs.
@AirArmsHuntingSA a very simple answer. Thanks Matt. Love your work mate.
And here I was thinking “PCP” stood for “phencyclidine”. 😁
What kind of muzzle brake is on your rifle?
Msrp+208% custom tax here :D
Anyone know what muzzle brake that is?
So, what's up with the barrel. Is it a solid barrel or liner wrapped?
The barrel “shroud” is the air tank…
@@akseminole
When did I mention "shroud"
Its wraped bro.Classic .25 700 comes with slug liner 1:16.
Why are all of the slugs hollowpoints? It looks like you would want solid for competition...
Doesn’t make much of a difference, actually. The hollowpoint makes a cushion of air in front which has a similar effect to a rounded nose, so BC is about the same. Plus, hollowpoints are easier to manufacture because the nose punch is also used to eject the slug from the die.
Thanks Matt, always wondered this
Gday guys
Dommage...
What happened to fx USA ?
I have a...the Best air rifle
😄😂😎😍😘😗
You don't need to lock tite the hammer spring adj. spring to keep it srt in place nore do you need to gunk up the threads. Just use a second set screw behind it. Don't overtighten it, it's not necessary. With that you can easily remove the locking second screw and you can reposition the setting without dealing with gunked up threads.

It is coming without external adjustments or plenum gauge. No thanks. Always you were the one who boasted about how easy FX is to adjust and tune. Now look at this, you did a 180 to promote this thing.
I think you are misunderstanding the gun. Firstly, these adjustments are external, you can make them with the chassis fitted. But secondly, I will likely not touch the settings after this for the next few years!
@@AirArmsHuntingSA I was interested in the Classic which does not have any external adjustments, you have to remove the stock to get to it. So every time one wants to adjust to shoot a different projectile you must remove the stock and cannot to fine tuning with stock on. And even you installed an aftermarket gauge. Why? Because you think it is necessary. After seeing all this I scratched it from my want list. Very disappointed.
@@AirArmsHuntingSA So WHY did you remove the chassis to do initial adjustments? Because you cannot reach the regulator with the chassis fitted?
This is compact small and light rifle.Copy of the standard hunting rifles.Remind me again the weight of other similar power FX airguns....Then make comparrison.I would buy FX dynamic on the spot id there wasn't any stuff on the left side like those big manometers and wheels etc.
So, you're tuning a gun for 40 grainers that can't have 40 grainers in the magazin. FX engineered a gun that should look like a firegun, but they need to mount a gauge on the side of the plenum to get it sold in most countries.
You can't tune it with the chassis on, and all of those drs models with smaller plenums don't even a gauge on it. Matt.....you do know that you need to see groupings when you are tuning right???
What kind of engineer didn't make it possible to put any allenkey in the back with the stock on???
What kind of engineer forgot that reg gauge??? who cares about a filling pressure?? do they even know that most pcp shooters shoot from the bottle??
Why for gods sake did they put a smaller magazin in this gun?? it should be holding 40 grains at least... will probably have problems with a lot of 34 grainers??
What the hell is going on at this factory????? and all of that for 2800+ gun?
The magazine holds 40gr slugs, and apparently the stock got stuck in customs… (as per several comments from the OP throughout the comment section), so it’s not a matter of not being able to tune the gun with the chassis on, so much as Customs being weird about the stock…
@@akseminole no it doesn't. he made custom shallow slugs to fit in that magazin. You can't turn the reg with the stock on...
easy and s1mple not worth it for the price stillfx impact the best
Thank you Matt for this great miniseries about this airgun! I learned a lot from your videos. 🙂
There is one thing I cannot understand though! How and why FX Airguns missed such an opportunity with this gun! As you explained the regulator pressures has to be high to compete with rim fires, but then you also need a very high pressure in your main cylinder (barrel shroud in this case). I really don't understand why the carbon shroud is not made so it can go to at least 280 Bars, ideally 300 Bars?! You'll get much more shots on your settings or you would be able to push the velocities of 40gr slugs even higher!
I hope at least the internals of the gun are built tough enough to handle pressures around 300Bar in main cylinder and around 200 in regulated part and there will be some upgrade kit later this year...
Otherwise it's really a sad story about missed opportunity... 😞
In my opinion, I think the panthera is the better option, drs pro looks the bees knees, but performance wise the panthera has the edge
Can you please send me your email .its hard for us to get help from you guys via communication😢
Hi Matt, sorry but the barrel is not solid as you say. it's not true, it's a classic barrel, even without a carbon sleeve, only with o-rings. It's pretty embarrassing from FX that they didn't fix it for this money.🫣🤔.
