Excellent information, so its finally opened. I walk along the canal regularly starting from Speirs wharf. I walked up several months ago and it wasn't open yet, it was abit behind schedule. Get up there in a few weeks for a look and then down to Jaconellis for a fish supper.
Hey Roger, your channel is awesome, and truly deserves more views for all your effort in making these. I noticed that you have done many videos before in Renfrewshire; Im an American and my family is of Scottish decent. My surname is "Sample", which is believed to be derived from "Semple"; as in Castle Semple in Lochwinnoch. I was wondering if (when you have time of course) you may be able to make a video on the history of the collegiate church there and maybe the house/castle that once stood. I hope to go there one day and honor my ancestors (one of which I believe is buried there in the church -died in the battle of Flodden, 1513 with King James. For now, I have your videos to familiarize myself with the area haha. Hope all is well across the pond!
Thank-you for your kind comments. I already have made a video on the collegiate church and I will make one on the Castle Semple Peel Tower when the access work has been finished. I also make Wikipedia articles and I have several on Castle Semple linked topics. I use 'Rosser1954' as my tag on Wikipedia. I also have many linked photographs on Wikimedia that might be of interest.
Awesome work.
God bless Glasgow with His blessing
A great project
Hi from Kirkintilloch which sits on the route of the canal, to think that it was hand dug is just mind blowing, it truly is a national treasure.
It was quite a feat!
