Halloween Treats for Hippos at Calgary Zoo

Lobi celebrated his 16th birthday, and Halloween, with his grandmother Sparky with a pair of pumpkin treats. The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo put on the pumpkin bash as part of its annual ZooBoo Halloween event.

Can a male hippo attain a weight of 8 thousand pounds, which would be 4 tonnes? It seems to me that I read this many years ago in the encyclopedia Britannica.

I wonder that too. Even down in Cincinnati where there are four hippos, the temps have been known to get down to below zero Fahrenheit. Not regularly but it does happen.

Now me I don't see adult hippos as cute "except for the babies".
Because they kill 500people a year.
But still this hippos look Gentle.
