Texas ist doppel so groß wie Deutschland und Alaska sogar 4 mal so groß. Das es in Texas im Sommer recht werden kann (über 40°C nachmittags) habe ich schon 1957 festgestell als ich in San Antonio auf Lackland AFB bei der US Air Force meine Ausbildung erhielt. Viele Leute und Unternehmen, beispielsweise aus California, ziehen nach Texas um.
