- Let's get those pads off!
Feel free to adjust the playback speed
Key Points:
1) If it's easier for you, these same steps can be done with the caliper off
2) Depending on your pads, you may not need to compress the caliper pistons - just be careful when doing so
3) Once re-installed, pump the brakes until it's firm and check your fluid level
Tools I used:
Torque Wrench (3/8" Drive)
Ratchet (3/8" Drive)
5mm Hex (3/8" Drive)
Angled Scribe
Flathead Screwdriver
Torque Specs:
Front Brake Pad Pins : 17.2 Nm (13 ft lbs)

Thanks for making these videos on how to maintain the Kawasaki Concours and to remove and replace worn parts such as the brake pads .
Never done brakes on a bike before. Watched this video. 25 minutes later I'm done. Thank you.
Nice video....I like the reveal of having to operate brake level to re-engage pistons with pads. Plus no talking...fantastic. Thank you.
GREAT video. No talking...you made it look simple and no BS.
thanks to your video i was able to change the brakes on my connie. thank you.
The design of these brakes is just 🤌
That looks like a different kind of installation than most Jap bikes i have owned, and it looks well done.
awesome video, simple to the point, did both sides in 15 mins :)
Excellent video. Thank you.
i watch all of your videos. they have many tips to learn. thank you for your efforts.
Thanks for making this video it was very helpful!
Exelent video, congrats brother, greatings from Azores, take care!
Thanks for the Video. Was easy do it yourself. You saved Me $100. Thanks Again
Amazing 👏 thanks a million
Like just watching the work without stupid music or inane commentary.
Hello, I have a problem..... I just saw about 7 of your Concours 1400 videos, silent but very helpful...... So I subscribed. Thank You for putting them up.
I have a 2011 Concours 1400 ABS that I just bought and the windscreen doesn't work. The fuse is good, I get a click sound when I hit the button, but no go.
Do you have a video about how to test/repair/replace the windscreen motor ?
Thanks in advance.
A.
Thanks for watching and subscribing! I'm afraid I don't have a video on that. If you're able to get your hands on a service manual, refer to the Electrical System: 16-76 for the relay inspection, 16-77 for the windshield motor inspection or 16-75 to remove the assembly.
Excellent, thanks!
Thank you very much 👊
At least they made the brakes easy to service lmao
Thanks!
Hello I love your videos and I learned a lot,but I have a question how you know the amount of torque you need on each screw eheh. Tks in advance.
Torque Specs in the description come from the Service Manual
After looking at my ZX14r is this the same process that I can follow being it’s not a Concours??
Should apply a bit of grease to the pin.
Cruise...I just picked up a 17 concurs from a dealer and I feel some vibration in the handle bars when I am high speed....nothing to vicious just vibration...I'm coming off of zx10 so new to the sport cruiser...wanted your opinion on if it's the bigger windscreen that I'm feeling?...like I said the vibration is not vicious
Always use the old pads to spread the pistons apart, I had to cringe when he was gouging the piston with a metal tool
What tool do you use to compress the caliper pistons?
What brakes do you recommend or used
Dang I’m gonna make a teeth cleaning appt just to bogart the dental pick…
Anyone here done a Brembo swap from the ZX14 on their Concours 14? Or will I be the first one?
I've heard of doing it! How did it go?
I had bad warping on my disc's so I ended up doing that first. I will get to the brembos later this year.
