- The Korea times interview of SB19 was very informative and gave us a glimpse inside the group. Discipline & Humbleness and hard work will get you a long way. PS:

What I got from this interview:

I admire him for his humility and selflessness.
Turning 52 this August makes me almost 3 times 18 (A'TIN). Definitely no longer a fanboy . So fantito? Just want to confirm that SB19's support/fan base transcends generational lines. The wiser i.e. older supporters like me I know are mostly low key and prefers to leave the chanting and all to the young ones. But we're definitely here! How can you not love a homegrown talent like SB19? They so much deserve the fame, success and admiration. If only because they make countless people feel good, inspired and happy in this time of uncertainty.

How about "fantita" as well Sir? I love SB19 too. They are good dancers and have good vocalization. They are kind and down to earth. Very talented young singers.
I'm a senior citizen and I can still appreciate their dance and most of all their singing especially their harmony when they are singing ballad songs. Going through 4 yrs of training of vocal and dance isn't easy as korean coaches are very demanding and tough.

The only group I ever stanned in my life. HAHA. They're great performers. They always perform live. These group doesn't know what lip synching is when performing. They're really talented and has great personalities. They're so humble and funny, such genuine persons. I got to love them more everyday. 💙

"Hugot", pulling out, drawing out your emotions. You might have heard or will hear about "Hugot Lines". Catchphrases, quotes specifically about love.
Their debut song Tilaluha is one such song that talks about unrequited love. Tilahula/Stop-tears

I understand there were more than 100 applicants when the company started paring them down to what is now 5. Ken (the main dancer) was the last addition to the group. So many of them gave up and quit because of the rigorous training and as what the members said, some of them just couldn't take it anymore.
Wow, okay that is a lot of applicants to go all the way down to 5. I can fully understand, they even said it's hard to do this and still support your family. They came out on the right side though, good on them.
@@pinoyroots no, not just 100 auditionees. At first that's how much. While their training days everyday there's more auditionees coming. And Every week evaluation and elimination. Training 3-4 year's Other auditionees couldn't handle the stress, exhausted of training. More than 400 total of auditionees something like that. False information not just 100
They were really destined to be together.
This group is under a Korean Ent. They were trained for 3-4 years in the Philippines under the Korean training system before they debuted. It took a while before they got noticed in the Philippines. These guys are amazing. They always give quality performances. They are very talented and smart. I hope they can be recognized internationally.
A lot of hard work and dedication to where they are now, with the discipline & humbleness they will get far for sure.
"Suntok sa buwan," "punch the moon" is another way of saying it's 1 in a million chance, an improbable feat, unthinkable task to achieve, taking a chance when you're not sure of the outcome but you keep at it anyway no matter what.

Actually in their song Alab (Burning) the main vocalist is the one who choreograph that song which is Stell. SB19 position are very confusing like all the members can be a vocalist, rapper and dancer by the way thank you for reacting to our boys, hope more SB19 contents.

From my knowledge, not just Alab, Stell was also the main choreographer for their Go Up dance, and their other dances/songs. And the others help out or give their inputs..

"Hugot" is basically what makes Filipino songs really Filipino. It's basically expressing your experiences and deep-seated feelings in a manner that strikes the listener deeply--basically anything that is scathing.
It's often used to reference heartbreaks, love issues, tragedies and failures. It's not limited to sad thoughts though--anything loaded with strong feelings and is delivered with an eloquent impact can be a hugot. As long as it feels like you're drawing your heart out to express it, we call it hugot. It does not only apply to lyrics as it is popular in dramas, spoken poetry and well, we even have games about throwing around "hugot" lines for fun.
"Go Up" is actually their 2nd single, not their 1st song. It is especially loaded with hugot regarding how the team faced discouragement, mockery, and criticism as they weren't exactly welcomed warmly when they debuted.
You heard a part of their debut single "Tilaluha" when their main vocalist sang it as demonstration for his talent in the interview. Expression and emotional delivery is great for hugots so most Filipino artists do it like that.

SB19's songs' lyrics are written by their leader Sejun (with inputs regarding ideas and concepts from the members). That is why they also often tease Sejun for his "hugot"-ness with the lyrics. You also noted he's a good spokesperson, so yeah, he's very eloquent not only in interviews but also in writing lyrics.
The other phrase, "suntok sa buwan" (literal meaning: "punching the moon") is actually an idiom for taking your chances even when you think it is impossible, like doing something even though you think that your efforts will all be in vain. As to why Josh said that, I will have to dive deeper and tell you about their history when they first started, but I don't wanna do that because aside from this comment becoming longer, it also hurts to think about it. Besides, you probably already have an idea about it if you read about how "Go Up" is full of hugot.

"Suntok sa buwan" translated literally in english means "punch the moon". Well, you can't really punch the moon so it refers to someone's attempt at a long shot or a one-in-a-million chance at something that he/she desires. A similar English phrase would be "to shoot for the moon."

New sub here. Thank you for your reaction. It's worth to stan this group because of their unique talents and characters, that's why they can easily hook the heart of a viewer who becomes A'TIN (Fandom name). Since you have ideas about SB19, hopefully you can do more reaction videos about them.
I have not been a stan of any group ever, but who knows. I totally understand why they have such a large fan base. Multi talented group who are humble and are dedicated in their craft through hard work and discipline. Recipe for success.

1) i dont think they ever explained why but in the i feel U interview (this is a recent interview if you have time please check it out) they placed all the members' official positions in the group including justin's: lead rapper, main visual, vocalist and youngest member. that and they had a different intro before, and the way they say said introductions also vary but the positions stay the same
2)they previously had 7 members before they debuted officially as SB19 with 5 members, before that they were part of hundreds of trainees and hopefuls who audiitioned to their company ShowBT
3) the choreography came from the main vocal stell but they helped each other a lot during the choreography, they give ideas to each other

Justin other being a bunso or maknae, he is the visual of the group and vocals as well. For your other question, I saw a video of them before they debut and they were 7 of them I think and Ken was not there yet so I think 3 members left and so the 5 of them debuted.
I hope you could also check out other Original Pilipino Music artists like Morissette and KZ Tandingan. We have lots of underrated talents in our country.

I have read some comments about it and I now have a better understanding of the meaning. And thnx for answering.
